All the positive reviews are so true - it reminds us of our wonderful time there. It is simply _the_ place to stay in Cape Breton, all sights reachable in a days‘ ride. We travelled through Atlantic Canada for 6 weeks - nobody could make us feel so at home as Jan and Glen. Hurricane Fiona forced us to stay for two more nights. We were lucky: Auld Farm Inn was the best place to be in this horrible storm: they are fully equipped with generator, internet via Satellite, own water source (you will love it!). It was a hard farewell when we left, thank you so much for the warm stay with you!
Fabulous accommodations...charming, quaint, cozy, comfortable, clean and safe. Jan, Glen and KC were the exceptional hosts of this Inn. Breakfast each morning was more than sufficient, delicious and the hot meal varied. This is my first experience with a B & B and now is my GOLD standard. Jan and Glen could double for tour guides...When I return, Auld Farm Inn will be my destination on Cape Breton...hands down!
We really enjoyed our two night stay here. The house is very clean, they are super friendly and can’t do enough for you. Jan is so sweet and manages this BnB with her friendly husband. We had two lovely breakfasts that were different from each other. One highlight for us was the music at the Hall. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
We were traveling around Nova Scotia and stayed here as a base for traveling the Cabot Trail. It is a few miles outside of Baddeck , NS. Beautiful B&B with attention to detail and daily housekeeping. Jan and Glen had great recommendations for restaurants and activities. They took interest in what you wanted to see and do.
Great B&B located just north of the ton of Baddeck. The rooms were very clean and included housekeeping which now days is a rare find. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfasts each day were freshly made, delicious and different each of our 5 days. Fresh fruit was offered in addition to the main dish each day along with yogurt. Ample parking was available onsite. The owners, Jan and Glen are very helpful, knowledgeable about the area and its activities, and helpful with restaurant information and Celtic music reservations. Can't say enough positive things about them as hosts.
We were four travellers, two in their 80s and 2 in their 70s. Jan and Glen took exceptional care of us during our 4 night stay. We saw Iona and the Bras d'Or on Day 1, Inverness, Cabot Links, Margaree, Mabou and Port Hood on Day 2, Ingonish and the Keltic Lodge on Day 3 and Baddeck and the Alexander Graham Bell National Parks museum on Day 4 - all with timely directions from our hosts. The breakfasts were varied, tasty and all excellent. We even twice met fellow travellers from Germany at breakfast. We enjoyed late afternoon teas on the verandah. The rooms were perfect for us, comfortable and clean. We ate twice at the Baddeck Lobster Suppers - delicious! It was the most memorable stopover during our 3 weeks in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Lively location with wonderful hosts. We booked late so our room was last available. Quiet location with easy drive to town. Owners were very helpful- helped us with tix for fiddle event. Lots of fun.
Couldn't have been more pleased with our first accommodation in Cape Breton. Jan and Glen were both very outgoing and KC was a great laid back dog, The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. Sad that they are selling the property so my not be there next summer.
Jan and Glen are lovely hosts. We really enjoyed chatting with them. Jan was great to give us information on what to see in the area. She made some great suggestions for us. The rooms are clean and cozy. We loved the little note they left with a little pouch to take the soaps with us when we leave as to not let them go to waste. It was soap from a local shop in the area. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! We will definitely stay there again when we return to Cape Breton hopefully next year for the Fall Festival.
Jan and Glen run a first rate Inn for you. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a private ensuite. The front porch is very comfortable for sitting around. Their hospitality and knowledge of the area knows no bounds. I will leave the best for last. The cooked breakfast is outstanding. Not only is there a continental breakie but also Jan cooks up many recipes and varies them day to day. Her recipes are on their website and I will be sure to check them out when I get home. Highly recommended.
