We stayed in the fully and well equipped suite at the Cheticamp Outback Inn in late September, early October. The suite is well appointed, comfortably furnished and extremely clean. Michelle is the perfect Innkeeper, with nice touches of fresh baked goods daily and great suggestions for restaurants and other activities in the area. Travelling during these times can cause some anxiety but Michelle and Barry have thought of everything to keep their guests safe and comfortable. We were in Cape Breton to hike and coming back after a long physical day, felt like we were returning to the comforts of home. We plan to return next fall and will be contacting Michelle about reservations soon. Don’t look further for accommodations if you plan to stay in Cheticamp.

We travelled with another couple along the Cabot Trail during the weekend of October 3 & 4, 2020. We made reservations about a month in advance to stay at Cheticamp Outback Inn. This is a very charming hideaway just minutes from the main drag of Cheticamp. Michelle and Barry are an awesome couple with a true gem on their hands! We had booked the room with a full kitchen, bath, livingroom and sleeping for 4 adults. This is kept super clean and decorated so beautifully. We truly enjoyed our time there and we will definitely make plans to return. Thanks again Michelle and Barry for making our stay one we won’t soon forget!!

Outstanding overnight stay in Chetticamp on our Cabot trail trip. Accommodation we stayed in was the suite option we booked. When you roll up in your car you may worry for a second what awaits you inside don’t it’s stunning inside cleanliness is to a new level it’s super clean, old world and modern decor rolled into one with a super comfortable bed 🛌 and great bathroom facilities. Kitchen area has everything you’d ever need with a front and back foot balcony. The area is beautiful and quiet 10 min drive to Chetticamp town with good food options and a few drinking spots . Now your host Michelle by far the most welcoming, warm hearted soul that gives it her all to make you welcome . She was so kind to give myself & my wife a drive to and even returned to pick us up from town after a dinner reservation at L,abri restaurant which is fantastic best in town I think. There is no better place to stay in Chetticamp would go back in a heartbeat, we also did the Gypsium mine hike which is 5 drive from outback in the car nice easy hike and great spot for photo op and swim 🏊‍♀️.. Book up fast word is out the place and the hosts are 5 star plus. Enjoy Thank you Michelle Regards Jim & Pamela Rodgers

We happened upon the Outback Inn in July while traveling by motorcycle. At that time, we didn't stay as we wanted to be closer to town and it was raining. We visited with Michelle and Barry. He offered to allow us to park our bike in his garage and we could take his vehicle into town. After wiping the look of surprise off our faces we graciously declined. They provided us the names of several hotels in town which would allow us to walk to restaurants and such. We left with a promise to return. We did Sept 11th after completing a hike along the Cabot Trail. We were welcomed by both Michelle and Barry. What genuine people. A previous person rating this place, Michael P, was so accurate in the condition of the rooms. They have thought of everything. We were not missing anything and were pleasantly surprised by the extra touches. Despite a tough season with decreased tourism, Michelle and Barry were enthusiastic and treated us so well, it will be a spot we will return to and we highly recommend it to those who travel to Cheticamp.
