My husband and I intended to spend 2 nights but a week before we had another commitment reduce our stay to 1 night. I called the manager immediately and made the change. Nothing was mentioned during the call of a charge for the change. My fault. I did not read the fine print in the email I received which I read on my phone. We ended up paying $287 for 1 night because we were charged $100 for canceling one night. Had we known the fee was so large we would probably have made arrangements to just stay. First impression, host seems very sweet in the 5 minutes I saw her, the cottage is clean ( for the most part), floors had been freshly varithaned, beds were clean and for the most part comfortable (I like a harder bed but they weren’t overly hard) there is nothing for coffee, sweetener, salt pepper so be sure to bring your own. I realize some places supply this and some don’t. The most disappointing thing was that due to the weather we were sequestered inside. No problem. There is wifi. Didn’t work. Ok we will watch tv. The fuzziest screen I have seen since the 70’s. Normally we don’t go to a cabin to watch tv but in light of the weather the tv would have been welcomed. Especially for what we paid. We were in cabin number 1 and there was a buzzing sound below that went on all night. The website is VERY well done. Be aware of that. “Resort” is a long stretch unfortunately.

We stayed at one of these cottages for three nights in July 2019. We encountered numerous problems with our cottage including the following: leaking toilet, dirty pillows and sheets (yellow colored and what looked to be old blood stains), crawling insect inside pillow case, dirty bathroom (lots of dead bugs on floor), dirty dishes in cupboards, bathroom door and main front door would not close properly, paint peeling from walls, etc. We definitely would not recommend staying at any of these cottages based on our experience.

I don’t know why people say the things they say but we got great service from the manager and the place was clean and the location was the best ever. We didn’t mind buying our wood at the co-op cause we needed groceries anyway. We recommend it unless you want 5 star hotels. This is the country.

We booked this place based upon the presentation made by their website, which frankly is well done and really leaves you feeling this is an excellent choice for a stay .... not ! This place is so far from being a resort it isn't even funny. First impressions upon check-in left us with a very bad vibe. The office is a mess and frankly looks to be one step from falling down. There are no amenities like not even soap to wash your hands or shower with ! We were surprised there was even toilet tissue ! The place is very old and outside areas are not well kept, inside is clean but only nice if you like thread bare towels and no soap, no paper towel, no fire wood offered or even for sale for a fire in the fire pit, etc etc. The place gives you nothing for your money. The ocean is about 500 yards away and you must cross a road and rock abutments to get there. The manager when questioned about the lack of supplied amenities stated abruptly that they don't supply non essentials ! Gosh even low end establishments like Super 8's give you soap and better towels etc ! I do not recommend this place under any circumstances and there is no value whatsoever.

Too expensive....for what we got. The furniture was old and musty smelling. TV reception poor, bed uncomfortable....bring your own pillows and towels as the pillows very lumpy and the towels small and scratchy. If you wanted an outside fire you needed to bring your own wood. They supplied toilet paper but no soap to wash your hands. Not a good night
