The Driftwood Lodge is a family-run, cozy cottage/motel with a rustic, knotty-pine vibe. Our room, apartment #5, was comfortable and clean, with a kitchenette including all utensils, pots & pans, small fridge, microwave, French press & brewpot (bring your own coffee), toaster oven and two burner range. There is a deck from which you have a magnificent view of the ocean. It is a great value for what you get. And the wifi was plenty strong in our room for us to stream a TV show. No, it is not the Ritz, but on the other hand, you are paying 3% of the cost of the Ritz!

Had a lower unit with a deck. Not as described. The location is perfect as is the view from the deck. The downside is the first night we were the only ones at the lodge. It was frigit and very cold. The second night there some people arrived in the unit next door. Every word and sound came through. At night from 21:30 to 24:00 every sound or movement sounded like the people next door were in the same room or walking through our unit. At midnight another tenant arrived and there was loud noise from their going up and down the stairs. The loud walking back and forth until about 03:00 in the morning. It sounded like they were walking through our unit. Also, the people next store had other people arrive and they talked until 02:00. You could hear every word and sound. So little sleep with movements being heard most of the night. On the last night of our stay there, someone would walk above throughout the whole unit every time that I would drift off to sleep. Someone was walking loudly every five minutes or so from one end of the unit above to the other and back until 05:00 in the morning until they finally settled. Little sleep was had that night. The beds were comfortable. No privacy though from the deck next door. Garbage in the yard by the office and elsewhere with piles of junk. Wi-Fi present but works good one minute and very tempermental the next which was frustrating.

We were in Apartment 5, and thankful the power was on, as it was still out in much of the Province due to down trees from Dorian. It is at the top of the stairs facing the ocean, with a fantastic window and balcony view. The harvest moon rise and sunrises were beautiful. The sea views were lovely and changing with the tides and winds. It is about 50 yards from the unit to the cliff top, then a stairway down to the beach. Unfortunately the sandy beach was washed away by Dorian's stormy seas before our arrival and just rocks remain for now. The bath and "kitchen" in this unit is tiny. Don't underestimate it! It is just basically for fixing snacks and a small breakfast. The bed was comfortable and we slept great. We had a mild nor'easter blow in and it was colder than usual, and damp and rainy, so we used the baseboard heaters to make the unit cozy and they worked great. While we enjoyed this stop, and our local hikes in the National Park, this place is a bit dated and cluttered outside, which could bother some. Jaimie, the manager, was full of information, both local and scientific.

This was a quirky little place with shorefront view and access. We had the 2 bedroom on the main floor which was small, but the price was good. When we were leaving we noticed there wasn't a mattress protector on the bed though. Take your own device if you want to watch tv or listen to music, but try to keep your volume down as the walls are pretty thin.

We loved our stay in the cottage! It was cozy and comfortable. I loved having the windows open all night to get the ocean breeze and hear the waves hitting the beach. Loved the amazing view from the breakfast nook. The couple running the resort are super friendly and very helpful. If you plan on doing a lot of cooking for yourself you will need to bring most things you will need to do so. We would definitely be returning.

This small lodge is in a great location in Ingonish, Nova Scotia. Be sure to request one of the rooms that face the ocean. Our room, #5, was upstairs and although quirky, was fine. The view from our porch was simply amazing!!! We appreciated that there was an electric kettle and french press coffee maker, plus a small toaster oven with a 2-burner electric stove. They could put in a new mattress and sheets and this place would be perfect. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The walls are a solid wood paneling, which gives it a rustic feel. The yard ends on a hill where there are stairs to go directly to the beach. Perfect! We needed to do laundry, and a small RV park in town allows nonresidents to use their facilities. There is a grocery store, too, so you can get your food supplies. There is a refrigerator in the unit, too.

Stayed here with my husband after a long day of hiking. The location was perfect, and for what we paid the room was reasonable. We stayed in one of the rooms rather than an apartment. The staff was incredibly easy going and friendly. If we were 20-somethings with a group of friends, this would probably be more our scene. The bed in our room was super uncomfortable which wasn’t great after hiking, and then before another day of hiking. Overall I can see how this place would be great for people who are looking for somewhere cozy and maybe a bit bohemian.

This is a cozy lodge right on Ingonish Beach. There are stairs leading down to the gorgeous beach, where we found some of the most beautiful rocks! The sound of the crashing waves reminded me of when I stayed on the beach in Barbados. The lodge is basic and very clean, and well stocked with cookware and cutlery. The owners are super friendly. The only downfall is that there is no air conditioning, which is probably not usually a problem in the area, however, we stayed during a heat wave. There were fans provided though. The Coastal Restaurant is only a couple minutes' drive up the road and it's always packed, and serves delicious food. We wouldn't hesitate to book another stay at Driftwood Lodge.

This is a lovely little lodge right on the bay with it's own beach you can explore and beautiful views of the ocean. We stayed in the largest, second floor room comfortably as a family of four. We only got to stay one night but would have stayed for a week if we could have! It was quite chilly for June but the baseboard heaters in each room warmed everything right up and listening to the surf all night couldn't be beat. Nice little kitchenette with a fridge and microwave, plenty of extra pillows and blankets. And the lodge owner, Kersti, was so nice and accommodating! We're so glad we found this place! Would absolutely stay here again if we're in Nova Scotia :)

We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage for 1 night. It had an amazing view. We had to get coffee from a nearby coffee shop which we sat in the cottage looking out over the sea. I did expect to at least have coffee available. The cottage had 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a small practical kitchen. It is a bit creaky when walking around and not very well insulated. We were given heaters which were very welcome.
