Very basic place. Classified as a bed and breakfast, but definitely is not similar in any way to others that we have stayed at. First floor very dingy. Breakfast...we turned around and left. Everyone using the same jar of peanut butter....no thanks. As others have said, the place is very outdated. I am ok with outdated but this was so... More

We stopped here as part of our tour along the Cabot Trail. Our room was basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. While the breakfast was a light continental it was still good to get us going. An added benefit is you can walk to the Main Street Restaurant and Bakery for dinner....it was very good.

Good location near the east gate to Cape breton park. Guests were quiet but creaky floors made it hard to move around in the wee hours. Rooms ok but no frills and washroom in need of update. WiFi and Continental breakfast included. Great restaurant just up the road.

On the outside, this place looks like a great B&B; bright colors, nice decks on both levels, on a hill with great views. On the inside, it needs some work. Found the décor and furniture in the rooms to be outdated and old (and not old and outdated to be cute for a B&B). It was strange to walk into... More

The room was good but the staff was excellent. They extended their service to allow us a small dinner party in their dining area. They also provided advice on local attractions and events. We had trouble locating a hike due to construction. They gave us excellent advice on how to get there and the time it would take.

We were met by a friendly staff member who was very helpful in providing information on the surrounding area and the Inn itself. We chose a budget room which, are all on the top floor, share a bathroom (three rooms share) and do not have TV's. The view was great! If you do as we did and go for the... More

I wish we had that up staying somewhere else. Due to a fire in Keji we had to change our plans last minute and the Island Inn had vacancy after calling a number of other places. I understand why. The rooms were older with no air conditioning. The beds were uncomfortable. The screens in the windows were not that effective... More

While the beds were very comfortable and the inn is indeed right next to the park entrance, the accommodations were very basic. Our second floor bedroom sloped dramatically eastward, while the adjoining bath sloped westward! The shower/tub leaked water onto the floor, probably contributing to the structural issues. Breakfast was also very basic; among other packaged goods, Wonder Bread and... More
