I had a two night stay at the Mabou River Inn while I was in town for a funeral. I don't do a lot of travelling during COVID but I found everything to be incredibly clean and I didn't once feel unsafe. The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming. They have breakfast service every morning with homemade foods, and I was lucky enough to have one of their homemade pizzas last night which was candidly one of the best ones I've ever had anywhere. The rooms were clean and quiet - I had two really great sleeps. I would highly recommend staying here if you're considering it - it will most likely be my go-to for the area moving forward.

We went to Cape Breton to enjoy the Autumn foliage and made Mabou Rive Inn our home base. From the initial welcome at check in to the final farewell breakfast (hand made and included!) Dave and staff made up feel like family. Rooms are clean and well appointed with individual climate controls per unit. The Inn provides additional seating areas so you don't have to stay isolated in your room and offers the opportunity to converse with other travellers. I definitely recommend this property. PS When owner Dave learned we were "doing the trail" one day he packed up and gave us each a homemade cinnamon roll for the trip. It was enjoyed overlooking one of the many breathtaking vistas at a look out spot.

Room Tip: Just know the lower level rooms are 'basement' level but warm and not the least damp.

The Mabou River Inn exceeded our expectations! The hosts are soooo friendly and the food was amazing! The continental breakfast is far more than a continental with eggs made to order, bacon, sausage and homemade porridege bread everyday and french toast and blueberry pancakes on the weekend. We will definitely return! A great place for cyclists with trails within walking distance and bike storage on site.

We just spent one night at the Mabou River Inn but had a very positive experience. The room was large, bright, very clean and comfortable. Bed was great and we had everything we needed. The included breakfast was delicious and more than we expected. All the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient, with prompt service. We were biking the Celtic Coastal Trail and the Inn is located very conveniently close to the Trail. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we returned to Mabou.

Stayed at Mabou River Inn after Inverness beach village doubled book my family and another group of 7. The room was large and very clean. I cant say enough about the friendly staff. It was a home away from home. There is a breakfast with your stay which inclued egg, bacon, porridge bread, sausages and pancakes. Mabou beach just as nice but less crowded. Mabou River Inn the place to stay.
