I highly recommend this bed and breakfast home outside of Mabou, Nova Scotia. The property is beautiful, the house so warm in feeling, the room was lovely, the breakfast was incredibly satisfying and Laurel herself, a very fine, sensitive hostess. I basically felt like I had visited family. This is how warm hearted Laurel is. It is like finding the...

We enjoyed our stay with Laurel and her beautifully restored farm house in the rolling hills near Mabou. Laurel is a gracious host and a wonderful cook and was full of information about the island music scene and places to see and things to do. The house was cozy and the main living room was a great place to relax...

What wonderful guests you two were! Comfortable, respectful of my home and the other guests, and all around lovely people. It was my pleasure to be your host. I enjoyed our conversations, and I am glad I was able to be of help during your visit to our beautiful Island. You are always welcome. Cheers, Laurel

Laurel made our 2 night stay feel like we had a home, not a B & B. We booked both rooms, they were super clean and comfy. The larger bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a generous tub. To shower in this tub you do need to be seated, which we enjoyed. The other room has detatched bath with...

We stayed for one night only, but wished we could have stayed longer at this great place several kms outside of Mabou. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We really felt we got to know Laurel over her delicious vegetarian breakfast and learned a lot about Cape Breton, including some of the people returning to their roots and the...

My husband and I were delighted when we first walked in the door of Laurel's B&B. It is airy, spacious, simple, and there is a deep down peacefulness that soothes the soul. Laurel herself is warm and deep in spirit, and the vegetarian/vegan breakfasts were delicious and satisfying. Her friendly dog and cat seem to share her sense of hospitality....

My husband and I spent just one night in Mabou in June . We were fortunate to find a very comfortable bed and a delicious home cooked breakfast at Laurel's B&B . Laurel is a friendly, hospitable host, who entertained us with stories about the scenic Mabou area , the changeable Cape Breton weather and , of course, the local...

We we're two nights at this wonderful, peaceful quiet place. The first step in the house was like: coming home. It really was, because of the warm and cozy place with all the wood and the open kitchen... so loveley! Laurel is a great host and we felt really welcome. She has a absolutely great sense of humor and we...

Nadia, I'm so glad you were comfortable here. I love my "job" because of the wonderful people I get to meet (and FEED!). So nice that your were able to get to " MacLeod of Cape Breton" for Celtic Knot rings. I look forward to the picture! Thanks again for choosing to stay here. Cheers, Laurel

We stayed for just one night but would have happily stayed for longer. The house is gorgeous, packed full of character. The room we stayed in was lovely, the smell of wood from floor to ceiling is delightful. The area around the property is breathtaking and it is the perfect spot if you want to start a Cabot trail adventure....

The B&B is located bout 3Km off Hwy 19 (the Ceilidh Trail) on 252.It is an older house built in 1850's, with several additions added later. It has only two guest rooms. We had the larger room with an en-suite. The bathroom was huge, but the shower is under a sloped roof with no headroom and no curtain, making showering...

Thanks, Paul for taking the time to write your review. I'm so sorry you didn't have a pleasant stay here. I certainly enjoyed our conversation at breakfast. I didn't realise that the bed frame in your room was squeaky! (I don't sleep there). I will look into fixing this as soon as I finish writing this response. Squeaky floors- *sigh*...

Our room was big, beautiful, spotlessly clean and comfortable. And breakfast was delicious and healthy. Uncut, whole grain oatmeal with blueberries, an omelet and whole grain toast, coffee and juice. And, Laurel's dog is very friendly and well behaved..obviously well trained.
