Food was excellent and the atmosphere fantastic. Desserts were absolutely wonderful. There was five of us and we each ordered a different entree and dessert and shared. The entire experience could not gave been better. Our waitress was great. We consider this place a definite treasure find while visiting Nova Scotia.

The room was great and the dining was even better! We were disappointed that we were not able to meet Niki because she had passed away 3 weeks earlier. We enjoyed the large room with a private bath. We were also a small walk to the harbor. This is a great place to summer and has sensational views of the water. A quiet place to relax and enjoy the restful atmosphere. We will go again!

We recently had a business meeting at Nicki’s.
The restaurant consists of one large beautifully finished room with lots of windows and a nice deck area in front.
The meal was spectacular, with great presentation and delicious flavors.
The staff was both courteous and efficient.
I highly recommend it.

We stayed for a couple of nights in the summer last year and had a great stay. We ate both Nights in the restaurant as the food was excellent!

Have never stayed there (Nicki has 3 rooms upstairs...NOT handicapped accessible) as I live within walking distance. But Nicki is a great lady and BOY can she cook!!!!! We had my dad's 80th birthday party there in 2008; took over the whole place. Best food and party ever!!!! Chester is a quiet little sea-side village (well, quiet except for Race Week in August) and I can't recommend Nicki's highly enough.

The Best of Chester! Or anywhere else we went in Nova Scotia, for that matter!
The Restaurant looks perfect and the food is divine. The three renovated guest rooms (with nice bathrooms) upstairs, looked pretty and very clean! Make reservations. Highly recommended.

Under new ownership and management. Reopened June 2017 as the White Gate Inn & Restaurant. Refurbished and refreshed building and dinning room with excellent service, a gourmet menu and good wine list. A must 5 star dinning experience!

Just found out that Nicki's proprietor died in spring of 2016. The establishment is closed and the property is listed for sale. Sad as Nicki was a congenial hostess, served excellent meals and offered a few tidy rooms above the restaurant. Perhaps a new owner will reopen.

10 of us shared an wonderful dining experience. The food, both dinner and dessert and the service, were top notch. A lovely atmosphere, with crisp linens and soft lighting. Conversation flowed and the restaurant never got too noisy, the way so many do these days. Highly highly recommended for "foodies" everywhere.

Absolutely wonderful stay - flexible and kind staff, we loved the jacuzzi tub and the beautiful room. Gorgeous town, perfect location and a lovely town. There were lots of amenities in the room we didnt expect! We hope to come back again soon!
