I slept as well at the Inn as I do home...no need to say more!! I guess Trip Advisor is making me say more so suffice it to say that I highly recommend the Mecklenburgh Inn. Cozy, comfortable and something to be said for that warm feeling that a B & B offers. Thanks Suzi!
Chester is a charming nautical enclave on the Lighthouse Route in Nova Scotia, and the Mecklenburgh Inn is THE place to stay while enjoying the serenity of the town. There are four well appointed guest rooms, all with private bath. The Mecklenburg's proprietor and host, Suzi, is a Cordon-Bleu-trained chef, and there is no mistaking that qualification, given the gourmet breakfasts that are without equal. It was our first, stay, and certainly won't be our last.
My husband and I checked into the historic Mecklenburgh Inn 4 days after the storm, Fiona. Seeking a bit of respite ( and electricity) after the storm, we surely found it at Suzi’s inn. The home is charming, comfortable and lovingly ( I suspect) appointed with handsome furnishings ,wall hangings, art and hand hooked rugs. Our room was spacious, gently yet generously lit, and immaculate …sumptuous bed, linens , Frette bathrobes were greatly appreciated after a good hot shower. The morning meal and coffee was a treat, served with a touch of elegance. I would definitely recommend and return for another ‘staycation ‘.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night while on a multi-day bike riding trip through the beautiful villages of Nova Scotia. Staying at this Inn provided one of the highlights of our tour. The room was spacious, welcoming, and had wonderful touches such as bathrobes and Italian sheets for the bed. Suzie was a wonderful host and made a terrific, memorable breakfast. We would love to stay here again.
Everything in Chester is a short walk away from the Mecklenbourg Inn. Suzy make a very tasty, beautifully-presented, breakfast. The house which dates from the early 19th century is full of interesting antique furniture augmented by posters and maps from places around the world where she has travelled. We would stay here again if back to Chester.
My partner and I went on an overnight trip to Chester recently and so glad we stayed at the Mecklenburg Inn. Suzi is a wonderful host and cooked a delicious breakfast. The place is cozy and inviting. We enjoyed relaxing with a drink on the upper balcony after having dinner at a local restaurant. Love the laid back vibe here and we can’t wait to visit again sometime! Thanks!
This inn is a great find! Situated next to both food and amenities. The property contains so much character. The hostess is just the right amount of helpful. Definitely recommend this inn for a quiet, comfortable stay.
Great spot in Chester. The owner is super chill and makes you feel welcomed. Bed was extremely comfortable and the house was quiet. The breakfast was delish! Centrally located - I know it’s Chester, but easy walk to the pub and walking around the waterfront.
Suzi, the owner was a gracious host and a fabulous cook. Breakfast was Japanese pancakes, sausage and roasted potatoes. She was quick with a dinner suggestion when we arrived at 7pm, a local tavern just a 2 minute walk away. The room was cozy and had loads of charm. An extremely comfortable bed was dressed in Frette linens, which made for a great sleep. Enjoyed meeting Suzi and I would highly recommend this inn.
I got stuck in a storm and I lucky found this gem of the place! It is run by the sweetest lady named Suzi! She is the best host ever. She is so welcoming and helpful. Words can not describe how grateful I am to have stayed there and I am super grateful to Suzi for being so welcoming and helpful! Thanks again Suzi! ~Zachary
