Suzi is a dynamic host, and excellent chef to boot! A charming inn, with balcony to sit on and watch the world go by... very quiet and peaceful street. The location allows you to walk everywhere to shops, cafes and restaurants and the waterfront to watch the sailboat race. There is a wide range of books and magazines to read, and enjoy the common areas. The room itself was 2nd floor, with the most quiet stairs ever! The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. There was still room for a loveseat and sitting chair in the room, and a desk and chair. The bathroom was a decent size, with a shower - the lighting was excellent for shaving and makeup. A breakfast quesadilla was a wonderful send off, make expertly by Suzi, given her chef background --- she did not disappoint! We had a lovely stay here.…
The “Meck” Is definitely one of the best places to stay if visiting the south shore of Nova Scotia. The uniqueness of each guest room, the warmth and charm of this inn as well as the fabulous breakfasts Suzie manages to present each morning will not disappoint. One cannot help but feel completely at home in this relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Also, Suzie‘S extensive knowledge of the area means you have access to practically all the tourist information you may need while in the area.
Suzi has made the most lovely and welcoming inn, nestled in beautiful Chester, NS. Minutes walk to the waterfront, restaurants, and cafes. Clean, comfortable, cozy, and accommodating. Highly recommended. Will be back!
My daughter and I stayed here in Oct 2019 ... visited the area ... specifically for an Oak Island tour. Suzi is amazing - a gracious, interesting, fantastic innkeeper and a superb creator of wonderful breakfasts!! We stayed 4 nights; breakfast each morning was not only delicious and different from the previous morning, but looked like they should be in a magazine of "best breakfasts." Our accommodations were very comfortable and we felt at home. Thank you, Suzi, for a memorable stay!! If we are ever back in the area, you can be sure we'll look to stay at "The Meck" again!
This big old house's charm is only matched by that of it's proprietor Suzi. We stayed two nights in Mrs. Finney's Hat room. The ensuite bathroom is almost as big as the good sized room. Suzi is a Cordon Bleu trained chef and the breakfasts are sublime. Likely the best breakfasts of our 3 week road trip through the Maritimes. A fridge is available to guests and Suzi knows the community and local area very well and is good with recommendations although it was the end of season and much was closed. I would go out of my way to stay at this B & B!
