Had a great stay here, even if it was February. We went from Halifax to Yarmouth and stayed here on our way back. Ann-Marie and Bill are warm and welcoming hosts, tips on what to see and where to eat were appreciated! Would love to stay here again!
We had the pleasure of staying at the Seafaring Maiden this past week for a family visit. The hosts Bill and Ann Marie were absolutely amazing and so welcoming. Looked after every need and the breakfasts are sooo delicious, biscuits are so yummy. Close to many amenities, close to the highway if you wished to venture farther and the view of the water is breathtaking. Would recommend you plan a stay at their wonderful home. It will be your home away from home while you are there. Everything was perfect!! Thank you Bill and Ann Marie for a great week and would love to visit when we return to Nova Scotia. Lee & Sue
We chose Annapolis Royal as it has a significant anglo-french history which often mirrored what was simultaneously happening in Europe between these then colonial powers.Port-Royal and Fort St Anne national Historic Sites. We were fortunate to stay at Seafaring Maiden at Granville Ferry,a residential area on the other side of Annapolis Basin where you could observe the extreme tide changes of Bay of Fundy. We stayed three nights in front facing room.It is Victorian era architectural features and Anne Marie has made every effort to respect the heritage and recreate in some ways that era in terms of furniture and decor. She was very approachable and engaging which was of great assistance to us before we arrived so we could plan our stay and avoid pitfalls. The room was spacious but importantly the bed was comfortable - mattress pillows and bed linen of excellent quality. The breakfast was very eclectic and not your standard fare or typical which made a. welcome change Anne Marie was a very hospitable host and we could not have wished for me during our stay …
This inn is quintessential. We spent 3 days in Annapolis Royal and loved every minute. The Inn is lovely, and the Innkeepers were so nice. We truly felt comfortable and welcomed. The feeling of the home was warm and happy. ...if that makes sense. Whistler's adventures were fun to listen to, breakfast was great. One room did not have its own bathroom, so if this is important to you be sure to check that out. Ours did. We enjoyed the gazebo at the water's edge and truly enjoyed our visit.
Had a short (too short 😃) stay of one night but the friendliness of hosts Whistler and Ann will be memorable forever. Saw the tide change 17’ while there. Mind-blowing. Beautiful home, very clean and superb breakfast. Bought Bill’s book Whistler’s Way and read half of it on my flight back to Atlanta. Can’t wait to finish it.
We stayed there for two nights . It’s our 1st time stay at B&B and had a great experience. The heritage house is charming and the room is clean. We had the ‘Captain’ room that has an ensuite. Both Ann Marie and Bill are very helpful to book the dinner and answer questions. The breakfast was delicious.location is great that close to the highway. Definitely will recommend to anyone who travel to the area.
A beautiful Victorian home, furnished in antiques, with a lovely guest sitting room. There is a waterfront patio area, ideal for waiting around if you arrive early. Anne-Marie provides an overwhelming welcome (rather more so than Europeans like us are used to) and breakfast at a shared, perfectly laid silver service style table, is superb. The bedrooms are period in style, with beautiful decoration although the bed was smaller than ideal for us.
The house looks attractive with a brilliant position overlooking the water with a lovely view of Annapolis Royal on the opposite bank. We were warmly greeted at the door by Ann Marie who showed us to our room. A beautifully decorated room with lovely furnishings, a big comfy bed and a glorious view. The bathroom was ensuite and while not spacious was perfectly adequate and, again, decorated in appropriate style. Breakfast, served at 8.30, was a communal affair with the guests from the other two rooms and was delightful. Unusual fare for us Brits, but most enjoyable. The first morning was freshly made quiche, granola (I think home made) with some fruit, together with a scone with butter and jam. This was accompanied by excellent orange juice with coffee or tea, the latter made to perfection! Ann Marie was always ready to give recommendations and on the first night phoned to book us a table for dinner in a nearby restaurant. Plenty of off road parking is available and there is seating for guests facing the water, a lovely place to sit and read a book or just watch the wildlife. Wifi was available, and although a little bit variable, was more than adequate for our needs. There is a coffee maker on the landing with books and a seating area. The coffee was excellent and there was a fridge with creamer. If we ever return to Nova Scotia we would definitely be sure to come to Granville Ferry to stay at A Seafaring Maiden.…
Just returned from Annapolis Royal having stayed at the Seafaring Maiden, a beautiful heritage home. We came to visit our daughter and future son in law whom we haven’t seen in almost 2 years due to covid. Ann Marie & Bill graciously invited our daughter for breakfast with us and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our first meal together in a long time. (Thank You for that). Breakfast every morning was delicious, a perfect start to our day, and Bill was quick to fill my coffee every morning which was much appreciated. We stayed in the Bessie a with a king bed which was very comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome and look forward to many more visits. I would highly recommend this B&B if you are in the area. Anne Marie and Bill are wonderful hosts. The house and location are spectacular. To have the lovely space across the road and on the river for a fire on an early September evening was amazing. We were in the Bessie room and it’s wonderful. So quiet at night. Breakfast…yummy. All homemade, fresh, flavourful and unique. Personally, there will be no other place to stay for us than here. Hosts are super knowledgeable about the area. Had menus and contacts at most restaurants and were prepared to make reservations for us too! An amazing stay.
