We arrived late and were welcomed with open arms, settled in and had a wonderful sleep in the beautiful Captains room. The next morning we were treated to a full delicious breakfast surrounded by thoughtful touches throughout the Inn and breathtaking views of the water. We would highly recommend staying here for the comfort and the company. Ann-Marie and Bill have done an excellent job of making their guests feel relaxed and like friends.

A beautiful, well cared for Heritage home overlooking the historic Annapolis Basin and Annapolis Royal. Our hosts were gracious, friendly and a most helpful source of local information and the breakfast served each morning was a true treat to start the day. The reading room was warmed by the heat of a well-stoked wood stove and was the perfect place to spend a February evening. COVID-19 health protocols were in place during our stay to further ensure the comfort and well-being of all. We stayed for two nights during our visit and highly recommend everything about the Seafaring Maiden Bed and Breakfast!

The COVID pandemic has given us an opportunity to become reacquainted with parts of our beautiful province that we have not experienced for many years. We are so delighted that we chose to stay at A Seafaring Maiden B&B during our three-night stay in the Annapolis Royal area.

The heritage property is immaculate inside and out and somewhat like stepping through a time portal. We enjoyed the sitting room as well as the gazebo across the road with its spectacular view of the Annapolis River and the town of Annapolis Royal. The breakfasts were all wonderful and filling.

Our hosts, Anne Marie and Bill were very knowledgeable and proactively helped us with restaurant reservations during a long weekend when availability could have been an issue. We very much enjoyed chatting with both of them.

Highly recommended!

This delightful old family home in Granville Ferry (just around the corner from Annapolis Royal) offers terrific views of the Annapolis River, comfortable rooms, and freshly cooked breakfasts included in the rental. The owners, Bill and Ann Marie Monk, are welcoming and engaging and Ann Marie prepared the best cheese soufflé and biscuits that I have every eaten. I could not recommend A Seafaring Maiden any more highly for those who want to relax and explore this charming area of the Annapolis Valley.

The house looks attractive with a brilliant position overlooking the water with a lovely view of Annapolis Royal on the opposite bank. We were warmly greeted at the door by Ann Marie who showed us to our room. A beautifully decorated room with lovely furnishings, a big comfy bed and a glorious view. The bathroom was ensuite and while not spacious was perfectly adequate and, again, decorated in appropriate style.
Breakfast, served at 8.30, was a communal affair with the guests from the other two rooms and was delightful. Unusual fare for us Brits, but most enjoyable. The first morning was freshly made quiche, granola (I think home made) with some fruit, together with a scone with butter and jam. This was accompanied by excellent orange juice with coffee or tea, the latter made to perfection!
Ann Marie was always ready to give recommendations and on the first night phoned to book us a table for dinner in a nearby restaurant.
Plenty of off road parking is available and there is seating for guests facing the water, a lovely place to sit and read a book or just watch the wildlife.
Wifi was available, and although a little bit variable, was more than adequate for our needs. There is a coffee maker on the landing with books and a seating area. The coffee was excellent and there was a fridge with creamer.
If we ever return to Nova Scotia we would definitely be sure to come to Granville Ferry to stay at A Seafaring Maiden.

We were thrilled with this charming Seafaring Maiden B&B. The history of this home goes back to Anne Marie's Great Great Grandfather and Anne Marie and Bill purchased this when it was put on the market some 10+ years ago and lovingly restored it to the dwelling it is today. Every corner is a memory they beautifully renovated from furniture, dishes, wallpaper, reading nook to a new addition, Bills workout room in the carriage house. We were treated with true Maritime hospitality, from arrival to departure. The breakfast was fantastic and Anne Marie's biscuits are to die for. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Our stay at A Seafaring Maiden Bed & Breakfast was a first class experience. When we arrived, our host, Bill, met us the door wearing a mask. I am happy to say all Covid protocols were in place. Bill also kindly booked our dinner reservations in Annapolis Royal.

We stayed in the Captain’s Room with a beautiful view of the Annapolis Basin. The Inn was built by the hostess’s great, great sea captain grandfather. It had all the the original character. We were enchanted by the beautiful decor of the olden days.

Our delicious breakfast consisted of orange juice, coffee, homemade granola with fresh berries, freshly baked tea biscuits with preserves, egg and cheese soufflé and bacon plus gluten free toast for me.

The Inn is located near two very interesting historic sites - Fort Anne and the Habitation. The Inn also has a lovely gazebo plus a fire pit with chairs surrounding it that you can watch the sun set over the Annapolis Basin.

We highly recommend A Seafaring Maiden Bed & Breakfast - 5 stars!

We have stayed in Annapolis Royal a few times but this was by far the best experience we have had. The couple who runs the place is incredible. Breakfast was above and beyond anything we could have hoped for and the view, the seating area across the street by the water and the rooms were unbeatable. If you are looking for a place to stay in and around Annapolis Royal look no further you will love it guaranteed.

We stayed at the Sea Faring Maiden on our wedding anniversary and could not have a better experience. The home and our room was everything we could ask for and more. Our hosts Bill and Ann went above and beyond to make our stay an excellent one. From arranging special requests from me, offers of help for dining in the evening to great breakfasts in the morning. An evening of chat in the gazebo over looking the river, it felt like being with old friends.

We had the most wonderful stay at A Seafaring Maiden Bed and Breakfast on August 16th. The house is magnificent with beautiful antique furnishings and artwork. We enjoyed a beautiful evening in the gazebo facing the river and taking in the gorgeous scenery. The breakfast served was absolutely delicious - like a 5star restaurant - . Our hosts Bill and AnnMarie are definitely the highlight of our stay. They are kind and gracious hosts who provided great advice and information for our exploring the region of Annapolis Royal. We look forward to returning soon.
