#5 of 7 B&Bs / Inns in Mahone Bay

If you were born and raised on the East Coast of Canada, you know that the heart of everything good and right in this world happens in the kitchen! The kitchen is where you’ll find the best parties, the best food, the best conversations. The Kitchen Party, or Ceilidh as it’s known here, is centered around Nova Scotia’s world-famous hospitality – and that’s where our philosophy is based!

Take. Eat. Easy.

The kitch’inn is unlike any other B&B that you’ll come across on your travels. Quirky, slightly off kilter and an experience in itself, we are not your typical Bed and Breakfast.

Boasting modern amenities, exquisitely designed large suites, luxe bedding and mouth-watering breakfasts...you probably won’t want to leave. So don’t. The hospitality here is epic! Stay a while, raise a glass with us and yell “sociable” at the top of your lungs!

We were two couples staying here during a mini getaway! The owner of this B&B was just awesome. She made sure everything was good with our stay. Our room was wonderful and super clean. We were just a 10 minute walk to downtown Mahone Bay and 2 minutes from SaltBox brewery. The atmosphere was very relaxing and peaceful with a nice outdoor setting as well. Our breakfast was super delicious and lots of extra touches. I would highly recommend Kitch’Inn!

We spent this Saturday at Father Christmas and one of the events included this year was this magical venue. Every thing was created from white paper in the inside part of this display. It was magical, I have never seen anything like it. They took a donation for this one spot of five dollars: at the end I would have paid $20 for this experience! The size of the village doesn't reflect the quality of this whole weekend and the adventure that we were privileged to be part of. Only thing not covered was a place to stay in this magical village....open your homes to us , maybe air b& b

An absolutely charming hip and modern b&b. Perfectly appointed. Warm and comfortable with local art and vintage pieces. Easy walk to town. Danielle is a lovely hostess. Breakfast was delicious. We loved the patio under the twinkling lights.

We all loved the Kitch'inn and Danielle, who owns it. We stayed for three nights in August and couldn't have found a better B&B for our family. The place is immaculately clean, freshly decorated with thoughtful touches such as hairspray, decent hairdryers and good hair products in the ensuite rooms. They are air conditioned and spacious with tasteful local art work and furnishings. They are also wonderfully quiet! There is ample parking and an outdoor sitting area where we enjoyed one of the Inn's twice weekly seafood dinners. The breakfasts are really good, there is something different every day and excellent coffee. You sit together with other guests on a large table and we met a wonderful couple our first morning which was great fun. Danielle knows everyone and everything in Mahone Bay and is a simply terrific host. I would highly recommend the Kitch'inn - we're going back in October!

There was alot that was great about this place. I enjoyed the location and the walk downtown for dinner. The artwork in the inn was wonderful and the room was very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the patio with a bottle of wine before dinner. The availability of an herbal tea in the evening would have been nice for me. The big downside was breakfast. It should have been wonderful based on description (lobster frittata) but was very mediocre. The presentation was good but it was overcooked and lacked flavour. Breakfast potatoes fell to the same fate. The kale on top made for a nice presentation but kale really needs a bit of something to be truly delicious. Sprinkled on top of a dry meal it is a bit much. I was hungry and had no problem finishing the mid sized portion but was embarrassed for 2 of our dining companions who literally did not eat anything. The coffee and yogurt parfait were both very good but missing were the advertised baked goods. Also no offer of water or juice. I have stayed at many many B&B's and this was the most mediocre meal I have had. Such a bummer! Wanted to love it!
