Stayed there again on our way home from Celtic Colours . Room 111 where we stayed as usual was very clean .. Carpet just shampooed. Bed very comfortable .. Breakfast fine ..highly recommended unless you want luxury .. Luxurious enough for us . Very easy access off of exit 25 ..

The photos and positive reviews must be of the upper level rooms. The lower level room we had was pretty grimy. Shower was disgusting, bathroom was very dated, bed was soft and warn. We could hear every peep from upstairs, including the toddler running laps around the room at 6am.

We chose to make a reservation at the Tara Inn because we wanted a room with an outside door. We were travelling with our dog and this makes it easy to take him out without having to go through a lobby. The decor is definitely dated, if this is important to you. Personally, I am more concerned with cleanliness and... More

stayed there one night, the place is clean and the price is good for what you get. Not the typical small motel. Rooms with no carpet wich is a really good feature. Only thing holding me to give a better review is that wi fi was not working and the clerk did nothing to fix it.

While visiting New Glasgow for work, two co-workers and I were enticed to the Tara Inn by the very affordable price and the very favourable tripadvisor reviews. Our experiences were wonderful - clean rooms, comfy and clean beds, great staff, delicious continental breakfast...no complaints. Those wanting fancy schmantsy lodging might be able to find fault, but not us. It was... More

This older style hotel/motel was a great place for a traveler to rest up and relax. The rooms are dated but very clean and comfortable. The things I liked most was how quiet the rooms were and the fact that you could park right outside you room door. No carrying bags, no elevators and one step and you are outside... More

What a charming place with such a friendly staff! We stayed in the lower level of rooms around the back and across from a beautiful, well-manicured cemetery. It was wonderful. The room was so comfortable and quite large. The 3-piece bathroom was great with a walk-in shower and all very new. The only suggestion I would have for the owners... More

Honestly, I am writing this review from the hotel room....we haven't even spent longer than a few hours here and I am already impressed. Not your typical motel. Had a hard time finding a decent-priced place to stay for 1 night (as we are travelling), found Tara Inn on TripAdvisor, walked right in and got a room. Easy check-in, affordable... More

We came off the Cape Breton trail and stayed here due to it's proximity to the Halifax Airport. It's less than two hours away. The hotel was comfortable and clean enough, although by the look of our socks, the laminate was in need of a sweep. The rooms looked a bit dated, but it's bright and for being an older... More

I would do 3.5 if I could. Clean, friendly, easy highway access. Good breakfast for a motel. Fine for an overnight stop. Not much in the immediate area for dining though. Would stay there again if our paths crossed.
