We really enjoyed our two nights at Gillespie House Inn. We were here pre-pandemic and it was wonderful then. The new owners, Lisa and Troy, (as of Jan 2024) have added a number of improvements that make it even better. They've added a beverage area on the upstairs landing, in case you want coffee or tea before or after breakfast service. Speaking of breakfast, we love the menu; starter choices of cranberry & white chocolate scone or blueberry muffin, and mains of waffles, full bacon and egg breakfast, crustless quiche, in-house-made granola, and I think something else, I don't recall. I had the bacon and eggs one day and the crustless quiche the other, all perfect. The interior of the inn has been repainted in cheerful and calming Sea Salt colour. There are three indoor sitting rooms, a sunroom, and the big veranda to enjoy, as well as the outdoor garden space. Lisa and Troy are so pleasant and attentive; they truly made us feel welcome.

The Gillespie House Inn is an 1890 Queen Anne Revival farmhouse. I had the Huntley room, named for the merchant/shipbuilder who built the house., and it's beautiful -- olive green with a queen mahogany sleigh bed, a marble fireplace, an antique desk and dresser, a nice bathroom, a double window facing the front lawn, and several framed prints of old sailing ships. The rest of the house is also beautiful, with a few sitting rooms for guests that include a library. The breakfast area is is very attractive. There's original contemporary and classic art throughout the house. The front porch and backyard were great to relax in and enjoy the peace and quiet. There's even a small church adjacent to the back of the property. Lori and David were friendly and gracious hosts and the dog 'greeters' Abby and Piper were wonderful. Breakfast was great, with a lot of the items homemade by David (granola, bread, jams). It's only a few minutes' walk to town, and it's close to so many activities. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm in the vicinity.

Absolutely beautiful property. Yard and gardens are meticulously maintained. Owners are very nice and familiar with everything there is to do in the area. They helped us out tremendously with directions and recommendations for local eateries/breweries. Would definitely stay here again. Rooms were exceptionally clean and staff very welcoming.

A group of friends recently stayed a night at Gillespie House and although it was off-season we were treated to an amazing experience of gourmet food, yoga, craft beer and access to the entire Inn for our group! David and Lori were amazing hosts and paid attention to every detail - we received exceptional service and within arriving and getting settled into our rooms we all agreed that this needs to be a regular get-away. If you are looking to reconnect with friends or family in a relaxed and comfortable environment and yet be spoiled with delicious homemade food and the warm hospitality, Gillespie House will not disappoint. We will definitely be back and are looking forward to enjoying more of what Parssboro and area has to offer.

We stayed at this beautiful B&B last night and we can't say enough about it. Firstly Lori and David are the nicest and most accommodating hosts we've ever experienced. They went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. The grounds were perfectly manicured with a huge verandah to sit around having a glass of wine. The inside was immaculate! The rooms were spacious, updated and they even had working windows for fresh air. The breakfast was to die for with fruits, coffee, fresh baked goods and the best homemade multigrain toast we've ever eaten. If you're visiting Parrsboro then you really shouldn't miss out on staying here..

This lovely, beautifully maintained inn is not just the best place to stay in the area but also one of the nicest place we have stayed in Nova Scotia. The hosts are friendly and very warm and welcoming. The rooms all seem lovely - we stayed in one overlooking the back garden and it was really nice, bed comfy, beautiful linens, lovely, elegant, antique decor. Be sure to eat at The Wild Caraway when you are in the area. We come to this area most summers to kayak with Nova Shore Adventures and to eat at this DELICIOUS restaurant.

Friendly host, very well kept and clean property. Large room with lots of counter space but not enough plug locations. Tight shower with not great shower head. Decent hot breakfast with granola, yogurt and fruit, muffins, and options of eggs and toast, pancakes, etc.

We loved our 9 day road trip around Nova Scotia. I told our hosts, just after gushing over our delicious breakfast, that I'd give 10 stars if I could. They were very happy to hear that but shouldn't be surprised as their efforts are first rate. What a beautiful Inn, inside and out. The grounds are gorgeous and the amenities are top notch. I cannot compliment them enough.

We really enjoyed our weekend in the Parrsboro-Five Island-Advocate Harbour area, and especially our stay at the Gillespie House Inn. The Gillespie House Inn is an elegant, comfortable and welcoming inn on beautiful grounds. Our second visit to the Inn, back for the great hospitality and amazing breakfasts.

Thank you for your inquiry. All rooms are on the 2nd floor except the Whitehall Room which is on the ground floor. The rooms away from the front of the house are the Gillespie Room, the McGilvary Room, the Chignecto Room and the Davison Room. Hope this helps, let us know if you have any other questions.
