We enjoyed a 4 night stay in the summer and are heading back this fall. Needing a quiet space away from the city, we chose Chisholm's and were delighted with the scenery, the tidy cabin, the personable staff and the easy access to the Ceilidh Trail. A little bit of Cape Breton heaven!

This was our first time to Cape Breton and we are so glad we chose to book a cabin here. Our plans changed a few times before we even left home and ended up booking just three nights here to accomodate other plans. 10 mins after arriving I asked James (owner) if we could add another two nights to our reservation (5 total) and I cancelled plans we had to move on for two nights as we worked our way up to the Cabot Trail.
The cabin was very clean and very well appointed. We had a spectacular view of the bay and enjoyed both early morning coffee and after dinner drinks sitting on the front porch overlooking the meadow and water.
The bed was comfortable and the towels (provided new each day) were better than I have had in any hotel.
I look forward to staying here again when we return to Cape Breton.
Thanks James to you and your staff for a great stay!

This place was perfection for our 30th wedding anniversary trip! This 1 bedroom cottage allowed me to get up early, make coffee, and watch the sunrise without waking up my husband!
There was a coffee maker, full size fridge, and a full stove/oven in the room. We got our food at Sobey's in Fort Hawkesbury and grilled out on the gas grill on our porch while watching the light change on the bay. I loved this place and only wish we had stayed longer.
For entertainment, we stopped at the Celtic Music Interpretive Center and had lunch. Then we proceeded to Mike's E Bikes and took a great bike ride!

The cabin we stayed in was large and comfortable. The view over the Atlantic towards Prince Edward Island was beautiful. There is access to the coastal trail just down the hill from the cabins. The housekeeper was very kind and helpful. The cabins are an easy drive to Judique in one directon and port Hawksbery/the Cape Breton Causeway in the other

We rented #2 cabin with another couple for four nights. It was exactly how it was described on the website and what we were hoping for. Very quiet and beautiful view. Owner was always available to answer questions by phone. Very clean and was well supplied with items that you would need. Liked location in order to access Cabot Trail and surrounding areas. Restaurants and grocery store was only 10 minutes away.

This was a stop over for our travels around Cape Breton Island. Worked good for that purpose. Pretty close to Port Hawkins and Port Hawkesbury so convenient for shopping, gas, etc. Cabin was pretty basic but clean and bed was comfortable enough. Nice view from the front of the inlet.

As a family with four children (three being teenagers) we found that the two bedroom cottage was perfect (there is a pull out sofa in the sitting area). The cottage was very clean. The full sized fridge and oven allowed us to cook our breakfasts and some of our suppers (cutting down on costs for eating out). Utensils, pots, pans, dishes are all provided. The location has a wonderful view. It also allows you to use the cottage as a home base (for example day trips to Cabot Trail, Baddeck, Celtic Interpretive Centre, etc., are easily accomplished). The owner was very helpful and desired to satisfy to the greatest extent possible.

Chisholm's Coastal Cottages are an excellent choice for both families or working professionals.

Upon your arrival you will be welcomed by the owner, Jamie, and you'll get a feel for the hospitality that Cape Breton is known for. He is more than accommodating and will tend to your every need.

The cottages are very well equiped with everything you'll need for your stay. The 1 bedroom cottages are quaint and immaculate with cathedral ceilings and satelite TV, your own deck and a barbecue. The 2 bedroom cottages have gas fireplaces with cathedral ceilings, satelite TV, your own deck and a barbecue.

All of the cottages have a gorgeous view of the water with the mountains in the background, large grassy areas and a playground for the children.

We've been coming here for over a year and it just keeps getting better. We look forward to seeing Jamie and Mary his cleaner/assistant.

Also, the Trans Canada Trail is just steps away, and just a short drive away from the villages of Inverness, Port Hood, Port Hawkesbury and Cheticamp (Cabot Trail).

The cottages are lovely. I read the previous review and was shocked because the cottage I sayed in had all brand new furniture including beds and was very clean! The living room was equiped with a fireplace for those romantic nights and the staff ensured that the cottages were cleaned on a daily basis. Yes, it is a 5 minute drive from regular conveniences like stores and shops but that is why you would pick this location. On a clear night we could see all of the stars including the milky way. It was absolutely amazing! James, the owner, was very helpful with recommendations for local day/night activities and even went as far as cooking fresh lobster for us at our cottage. If we are ever in the area again Chisholm Cottages are definitely a first choice accomodation!
