We’ve stayed at The Little Inn many times over the years, in every room/suite category. Last week we chose to stay for just one night since we had an event to attend nearby. We would have extended it to a two-night stay, but as it was mid-week their restaurant was not open, so we decided to save a longer visit for when they are fully operational. Lots has changed since our last stay. Obviously, due to COVID-19, the hospitality industry at large has had to make significant changes. For The Little Inn, that meant arriving to an empty front desk and picking up an envelope with our room key and a brochure about what is and is not available. The wifi password in the brochure is inaccurate, but I noticed a different one posted at the front desk as we were leaving for dinner.

Warm staff, especially Kristina, who seems to be on duty 24 hours a day. Excellent breakfast under COVID protocols. Very clean. Suite was a little dark due to the trees outside. Bathroom not quite up to the standard displayed in the online images of other rooms. Did not have direct control of the air conditioning. Dinner in the restaurant was average.

Despite the reduced staff and services (due to covid policies), we were very well looked after and taken care of. Kristina the manager was a one woman show, big props to her and the rest of her staff. Will definitely stay again if we return to Bayfield.

My wife and I had booked an evening at the Inn to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary as this is where we had honeymooned. Not the greatest of experiences I must say. I had arranged for there to be a bottle of wine and the charcuterie board brought to our room upon arrival. The charcuterie board left a little to be desired and that is all I'll say about that. The ambient lighting in the room did not work, the phone did not work, we had to fill the tub with the shower head as the faucet didn't work. I recall a MUCH better experience when we last stayed here, unfortunately, this visit may well be our last. Not sure if ownership has changed since our last visit but for such a lovely "Little Inn", it really should be much better kept. That said, the staff was very accommodating,

Thank you for pointing out some of the gaps you saw in your stay. The ownership remains the same, but we are operating under very new rules of our industry association and public health. I will immediately look at the areas of concern and address them. The issue with the phones was due to a direct lighting strike on the Inn which took out our phone system, internet and most of the cable TV boxes, this issue has been completely rectified but it did take us and number of technicians 3 days to complete the replacement of the hardware. The Inn is centrally cooled and we do find that most guest do not mind that room temperature and we are happy to provide fans on request. Should you wish to return to the Inn please let me know directly so I can ensure a perfect stay. generalmanager@littleinn.com

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Little Inn. Our room was wonderful, had a nice sitting area, spacious bathroom and very comfortable bed. The continental breakfast was lovely, highly recommend the homemade granola! We also dined in the restaurant one night and the food was superb. The service was great and very accommodating.

The hotel is beautiful and we were excited to return as we had visited the year before as well. Staff were extremely friendly but also very busy. You have to be a good advocate for yourself to track them down but once you find them they are completely there to help you. Probably effects of Covid - we completely understood. Beds were super comfortable and the room was super clean. The only disappointment was the food. Last year the restaurant was amazing. We were eager for a repeat but the menu was basic and the food plain. Restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating so service was not a problem. I just wouldn’t return to eat there. I paid 17$ for a Caesar salad that I could have made better at home. (Starter size). Eat somewhere else but totally stay here. It is cute,

Sarah Thank you for your review and I apologize if your dining experience was not up to the standards you recall or we have set for ourselves. The Caesar salad recipe has not changed so I will look into it personally and the size of a standard regular size should be quite large and wonder if this was plated incorrectly as starter size. We should have caught this mistake before the food was brought to your table. We appreciate your comments on the Inn and yes we operate in a bit of a different environment with the hospitality industry going through one of the worse periods in recent history. We hope you will return as we strive to ensure all aspects of the Inn are top notch.

My girlfriend and I booked a reservation on July 23rd at the little Inn of Bayfield restaurant. We showed up for our 7:30 reservation and waited for a few minutes before our server told us our table was around the corner and she’d be a couple minutes. We waited for her but apparently we were supposed to just go find our table. We found our table and ordered a drink which was fine. We got the charcuterie board to start and after 45 min it showed up. This was the worst looking charcuterie board I had ever seen. Greyish/ brown slices of deli meat and a couple cheeses. Was told it took so long due to the bread which didn’t make sense cause it was a heated up baguette. The menu only had 4 items and none of them local as this restaurant advertised. Chicken souvlaki, cheeseburger, fish

You know given the hardship that most restaurants and hotels are going through you would think that people would express their concerns regarding their dining experience during their dining experience! which we confirmed you did not do, although happy to take a couple of complimentary beers of course. Instead why not bash a business on Tripadvisor during the hardest economic downturn this industry has ever seen due to COVID 19. To be correct all meats on the Charcuterie board are cut fresh daily sometime to order to maintain freshness along with baking the bread most people including the 15 tables that ordered it last Sunday love it. The salad was not the standard we set for ourselves and should not have gone out and that is about all I will agree with about your review. You say you wouldn't come back again good as you would be wasting our time as well.

This is a lovely historic inn in a very pretty town. We enjoyed sitting on the upper wrap-around balcony outside our room in the evening. Our room was immaculate and quiet and we felt very safe with the excellent protocols in place for Covid 19.

Thank you for your review and we really appreciate it. We have placed a lot of focus on the safety of our guests and our staff during this period of time. Some things have changed like taking glassware and other items from rooms like robes, but we are happy to provide all those items in a contactless delivery to the room. So glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for supporting a small independently owned and operated business. Hope to welcome you back to the Inn again soon.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our overnight at the Little Inn. We were made very comfortable by the COVID-19 policies they had in place. We ate a late lunch on the patio- fabulous food. A beautiful continental breakfast came with our room and was left at our door on time- superb options! Delicious. Our room was spotlessly clean and airy. We enjoyed relaxing on the shared balcony facing the quaint main street. Kristina's service was top notch! She managed reception and the restaurant with professionalism and warmth. She did a wonderful job in a tricky time in the world and we had a wonderful time.
