It's a little inn, with a little restaurant, a pub, and great staff. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Have stayed there twice now and will be staying there every time we're back in Bayfield.

I look forward to my annual trip to stay at the Inn after I attend a play down the road at Huron County Playhouse. Yes, the town can be crowded, depending on the time of year, but a relaxing walk to the cliff to see glorious Lake Huron, a nice soothing shower and a fabulous dinner will allay all those trials and tribulations. Staff are great ! Hotel mamangement has changed from 2018 (going to miss you Michael !) but appears to be running well and smoothly. Each room has been decorated differently. Love the vintage bathroom tiling. Great shower head, nice towels. See you in 2020 !

We made a last minute decision to stay over in Bayfield and were delighted to find The Little Inn had availability. Staff at the front desk were excellent as were the servers in the charming Four in Hand Pub. The room was superbly restored - modern features which preserved the charming heritage of a century + Inn. Price was reasonable considering excellent accommodation and service!

Thank you for review Victor W. During the summer months the town of Bayfield is very busy. However in our off season or shoulder season it tends to be less busy. Our room rates are very competitive for the area and being a tourist destination.

The woman at the front desk was incredibly unhelpful when we checked in. She gave us the wrong time for breakfast, wouldn't check to see if they had foam pillows until I pressed her and told us the temperature for the entire Inn is set and locked and don't ask her to change it. We FROZE at night. When we checked out we learned that the air vents in the room could, in fact, be adjusted. The rooms are small, gloomy and dark and there's no closets or dressers to hang your clothes. For $300 a night, I expect better treatment and a nicer more and more comfortable room.

We are a coaching inn that has been operating since 1847. Yes some of our rooms are smaller but majority of people who stay with us love the older style and charm we have to offer. When making your booking you had said you wanted a carriage room due to the price point. Carriage Rooms are a standard room. Upon check in you were give keys to the carriage room, but this room did not suit your needs. You approached the front desk and the agent showed you one of our select suites. This room being much bigger. The select suite did offer a queen size bed, sitting area with a gas fireplace, whirlpool bath and separate three piece bath. In the whirlpool area there is a closest should have wanted to hang your clothes. As far as the room being gloomy and dark, there are two lights by the bed, two lamps in the room, pot lighting in the whirlpool area and lights in the bathroom. You also were accommodated with another light from our hallway. Pillows we have high end norther feather pillows. These pillows are hypoallergenic. Upon your request for foam pillows we do not have foam pillows. We have polyester pillows available to guests who do not like feather. Polyester and foam as completely different. Plus from what we understand you were given 4 polyester pillows at the time of request. As far as breakfast reservation goes you were emailed a confirmation with a 9 am breakfast time. Should have wanted that changed we would have been able to accommodate that as well. Since we are coaching inn since the 1800's the A/C was accommodated years after. So the Inn has to accommodate a central system. We have the AC for the entire building set at 21 Celsius. Should you have been cold the gas pilot light was not turned off in the select suite due to its size and you could have turned it on. During your two night stay you did not say anything until check out and we would have done our very best to make your stay more enjoyable had we have known. It is unfortunate that guest such as yourselves take the opportunity to be overly critical, but from the majority of your other reviews on Tripadvisor this seems to be consistent. To also take picture of the carpet on the stairs which we are in the process of replacing is also disappointing. For future trips to the area you might be more comfortable in the soon to be opened Comfort Inn in Goderich.

I have stayed at The Little Inn several times before. I’m sorry to say the quality has drastically slipped, and it’s not an inexpensive night away. We stayed in room #15. We awoke early and were looking forward to coffee on the balcony. However the coffee pot did not work. I called down to have coffee delivered to our room but the front desk staff wasn’t in yet so I ran down and obtained our own coffee. Then we tried to take showers and the shower didn’t work. Upon check out I mentioned our issues to the front desk staff and all she said was “oh no, the shower does work.” Quite a disappointing stay this time. I will probably check out other accommodations in Bayfield for my next trip.

Reception hours are Sunday to Thursday 8 am to 6 pm and Friday/Saturday 8 am to 8 pm. Should you have called prior to these times a receptionist would not have been on duty. Room # 15 the shower does work, there is a lever on the faucet that up pull up. We would have been able to assist you but you never let us know you were having difficulties. As for the coffee maker in the room we have put a new one in the room recently. Just wondering if it wasn't plugged in. It is unfortunate that guest such as yourselves take the opportunity to be overly critical, but from the majority of your other reviews on Tripadvisor this seems to be consistent.

We had a delightful stay at the Little Inn! The Inn was very clean and comfortable for our 2 night stay. Even our request for a cooler room was accommodated and everyone was so helpful and nice. Plus I don't think your will find a better place to eat in North America.

What a wonderfully charming place to stay! The location couldn't have been better for us - we were a block away from the beach, trails/parks, and the marina. You're within steps from shopping, including the local bookstore and coffee shop. The food and drinks at the Inn are the mainstay of Bayfield - you must ask the incredibly talented bartender for a Pisco Sour, he'll make the assembly seem effortless but it also tastes really, really good. We will 100% be staying here again in the near future.
