This place is a hidden gem! The pricing is very fair and close to Bayfield and Grad bend. I had called and asked for an early check is since we were coming from far away and they kindly let us check in much sooner. The staff were all very nice overtime. We had a terrace room ( I believe room #2) It was a nice clean room with a fireplace and a terrace with a nice seating area. Also these rooms have access to the pool from the terrace. The inn also has a nice restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast.

The rooms are basic, a little tired, but certainly very clean. The mattress' were comfortable enough, the pillows were fine, although I always bring my own when travelling by car. The staff are very helpful and courteous, the grounds are lovely and well kept. We did not eat in the restaurant, but did partake in a wine tasting at Schatz Winery that we enjoyed enough to buy several bottles. Will definitely stay here again.

I am reviewing the restaurant portion of this property only. The hotel is open but we only went in for dinner. Everything was very, very nice, right from the first contact for a reservation via email, down to the final bill. Firstly, the hotel and environs is really really nice and I would likely stay there but we are locals. The restaurant was very clean and fresh and the interior tables were well spaced. The patio was also open but we opted for indoor seating. The service was prompt and unobtrusive. We ordered the local wine and beers. I can say, the vidal was good, as was the house beer. The menu is not large, thankfully, but there is something for everybody. Our group of five ordered, rouladen, schnitzel (which is pan fried the way it should be) and the chicken pesto dish. We also ordered the tomato bisque for appy. All of the food was brought to the table on individually domed plates, which kept the food hot and germ free on its trip to the table. Very much appreciated. The chef here obviously takes much pride in the food that is being served, as it was all so delicious. The prices are very reasonable as well for a fine dining place. We will definitely be going again, and would definitely recommend!

for $250 a night you can invest in some windex, a swifer duster, and some light bulbs. We called and booked so excited to stumble upon this place, we asked for the best room because our anniversary trip in March got cancelled Due to covid. She suggest the tower suite room 14. We checked in and the receptionist completely spilt that my boyfriend had already booked dinner reservations for us, I thought it was weird because I had just told him on our drive up we should make some when we check in and he said no we can find a place in town if the restaurant at the hotel was busy. I later found out he had called ahead and asked for a special dinner set up because he was going to propose this weekend, he even offered to pay more if they could do anything extra. No table cloth, no wine waiting, no candles, flowers, nothing. They told him on the phone the would set something up near a waterfall but we ended up somehow in the vineyards which is still nice but with zero extra touches and rain pouring in on us shortly into our meal. It wouldn’t have killed them to look at the weather add an umbrella or have a table set inside somewhere originally since it really was raining all weekend. We are engaged now! That’s the highlight of our weekend but he told me after about the call he made before we left on the trip and was very happy he decided not to pop the question at dinner cause he was still disappointed on them telling me about it at check in. THE ROOM: Dusty, spiders and webs Visible, the light bulb attached to the bed frame was burnt out, the ceiling light directly on top of the bed was full of webs, the mirrors behind our pillow was so streaky I literally got a face cloth and washed it with water 5 mins into our stay. For a time where extra cleaning protocols are in place it sure wasn’t sparkling. You can find many little bugs in the washroom. the bedroom (main floor) and both upstairs balconies face the parking lot, cars from every window view. We had to keep the curtains closed for any kind of privacy. Definitely don’t see how this could possibly be their best room. The couch upstairs hasn’t been vacuumed, my partners phone slipped into the cushion and when he put his hand down to retrieve it his hand came out sticky with pretzels. It was disgusting, everyone know to vaccine under the cushion in your home so why not in a hotel? DINNER: WAY over priced! We are food people! We do not mind spending money on restaurants, it’s our usual date night. We spent about $200 on a app, 2mains a bottle of wine a dessert. We wouldn’t mind paying this price if the food was worth it. I’m German so I’m no stranger to schnitzels but this was the thinnest and greasiest one I ever had. I was also told it was a large portion the I could make a sandwich with the following day, maybe for a child lol. The only thing we really enjoyed was the chocolate mousse for dessert. Last thing I would really like them to change after reading this is the morning coffee. If you are talking my coffee machine out of my $250 a night room because of covid the LEAST you could do would be to serve complimentary coffee in the morning! $10 for 2 coffee and a juice when it taste exactly like the average hotel room coffee anyways. Overall we spent about $800 on two night in this hotel and were sad to say we wouldn’t ever return. We really wanted it to be something special especially since we got engaged during our stay there but we’d much rather stay at the pillar and post or even Hilton in Niagara for cleanliness and comfort. Next time a gentleman calls your hotel telling you his plan to propose, do something!! You host weddings there and you couldn’t even keep the secret never mind set a table cloth, our favourite restaurant does more for birthdays then you did and he wasn’t even asking for anything free he would’ve paid. If there was any kind of effort put into that I think I would’ve gotten past the room and still returned because it was a special moment.
