Travelled from the UK to attend a wedding and stayed for six days. The wedding was at the hotel and it was a memorable day. Throughout the week nothing was too much for the staff. Our room was clean and fresh linens were provided on a daily basis. Breakfast was included in the price which provided a great selection of food etc. Would stay here again if we are able to manage the journey!!!

Had a chance to experience the Elmhurst Inn & Spa in Ingersoll for the first time. The place is beautiful, very well put together with an old world charm ! We were in a corner room with a fireplace, high ceilings & massive windows. Food is delicious, very well prepared. Staff is friendly, helpful & with big smiles !! The breakfast spread is great with freshly prepared omelettes. Did not get a chance to experience the spa but am sure it is worth the great reviews about it. Everything is clean, well maintained and sparkling!

Our team is sprinkled across the province & decided to try meeting somewhere in the middle. Working with Theresa, Sales Manager & her staff made it a very positive experience. A small miscommunication (on my part), but they quickly fixed the issue. Meeting room was fantastic, spacious & accommodating for our needs to have a virtual guest presenter wanting an interactive approach. Opportunities for members to have meetings in other spaces were also available. Cooking lesson with Chef Andrew was fabulous. Cranberry Margaritas - yummy! Team bon fire behind the Carriage House with our own bartender - memorable! All of our meal options were healthy. And every single staff member we encountered was helpful and smiling! My team shared they really enjoyed the 2 day event.

Walking up to the Elm hurst it felt rustic castle feeling which I was comfortable with. Typically we would go for more of a busy city hotel but this was for an anniversary and we wanted to come for quiet and relaxation.
Front desk male was kind, front area was clean. We took the stairs to the lower level to our room. Temperature in the halls as well the lobby was very warm. Definitely should be adjusted to a more comfortable temperature. The stairway was actually musty smelling and the elevator was very small so we didn’t have a choice that felt comfortable.
Our room size was perfect for what we needed. The bed was comfortable. The room again being all carpet and in a lower level felt musty and even damp. I always check the room before unpacking and the table beside my side was not cleaned and was dusty. The washroom was clean and the shower pressure was good. We had a card for our anniversary inside the room which was nice but with the wrong year written inside. We got the set menu for dinner. We were first seated inside a smaller room with three other tables, very little privacy to talk and felt way too tight. I asked for us to be moved out to the porch which was better. Soup and salad was fine. Main dish was Cornish hen for me. Hen was cooked alright. I left basically more than half on my plate. Potatoes were hard and absolutely zero flavour didn’t eat them. The hen also needed much more sauce/ garnish to it. Service was good at dinner.
Morning we had breakfast buffet. Seating was better for breakfast than it was at dinner. A lot of servers walking around having personal conversations. One blonde hair middle age server didn’t think I saw but grabbed a piece of bacon with bare hands looked at it and threw it back in, which was odd. Waffle maker was good, eggs were fine. I would say you can get this same if not better continental buffet breakfast at any lower end hotel.
Afterwards we went to the spa because you can use the sauna and steam room. Sauna goes only up to 110 which is not very warm, typically a sauna goes up to 150/190. We also wanted to use the steam room like advertised but it was not working which again a let down.
Afterwards we went back to our room, tv flickered in and out throughout watching it.
All of this said I woke up with a heavy chest, feeling sneezy and unfortunately we wanted to love this place but with all the little/ medium things that didn’t suit right it’s just not worth the money you pay. I wouldn’t have said anything while they’re in-front of my husband because I wouldn’t want to put down his pick but I feel very disappointed.

We came for my grandmothers 90th birthday and made the venue well aware that’s why we were coming. The room was nice but the table itself was so cramped we were all elbow to elbow it was hard to get out to go to the buffet and not e enough room on the table for anything other than one plate per person (couldn’t even fit a salad plate). The buffet food was not hot even though it was in chafing trays. The selection of food was minimal compared to what I have had there in the past. Being dairy and gluten free proves a challenge. Prime rib was good but Turkey sausage seemed rubbery as did the bacon. Salad bar had 5 options… beet, some sort of mushroom, crab salad, pasta and a spinach salad not even any croutons or bacon bits with just tomato, cucumber and shredded carrots. Zero fruit salad which was very disappointing as it was a brunch I sort of expected that. The cheese selection was nothing special just slices of cheddar and mozzarella which was a disappointment to my kids as in the past they had a much better selection of different kinds. The DIY waffle station was placed right next to the chef making omelet’s which created a big lime and no one knew who was there for what. Also the waffle table was backwards with whipped cream and fruit toppings at the beginning and the waffle maker last which make it so you had to cut through the line to get toppings after making your waffle. Seriously need to rethink that whole room there is a much better way it could be set up and it would flow much better! Bread bar was very plain. Dessert bar was two long tables but only a minimal selection and did not offer any gluten free options ( get with the times guys). When I asked the waitress for a gluten free option (fresh fruit even would have worked) she said she could check with the kitchen they MAY have a sorbet. Why is this not more advertised I shouldn’t have to ask.. made me wonder what else they had I didn’t know about. At the end of our meal no offer to bring grandma a piece of cake with a candle like I had seen other tables receiving even though waitress was well aware of her birthday even addressed it in the beginning. Overall the entire group was u happy with selection verses price. $44 dollars a person is reasonable I suppose for all you can eat but if they are goi g to increase prices should have kept with same quality as in the past. Will not be visiting again which sucks because previous visits were amazing and well worth the price!

Stayed July 10 - 15/2022 in the Lord Connaught room. The room had a weird, musky odour that did not dissapate. Floor was tacky and uneven. Bathroom with double shower was incredible, but when both shower heads are used, water does not drain properly and floods the bathroom floor.
The rooms are tired and a strange, eclectic mix of modern/cheap furnishings (not aligned to the vibe of a historic Inn). The outside patio space was actually right beside the parking lot, separated only by some straggly cedar trees.
We dined one evening at the Inn. The meal was okay, not outstanding, and VERY overpriced.
Breakfast buffet was miserable for me (a vegan). No soy or almond milk. No margarine or butter substitute for toast. No oatmeal offered just overcooked beans.
I am SUPER disappointed as I specifically sent an email to the head chef asking about Vegan options 1 week prior to our stay. I received an edgy response from the chef telling me that he "knew was a Vegan diet was" and "that they have Vegetarian/Vegan guests all the time that they provide meals for". Clearly, he does not.
The grounds are beautiful.
The staff is friendly and accommodating.
We have stayed at many Ontario Inns over the year and have never had such a awful experience.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your recent overnight experience. This suite will be getting a new floor installed later this year and we are looking at modifying the landscape next year in the spring. Our Lord Connaught Room is a quite popular room and we are sorry to hear that it did not meet your expectations. In regards to providing you with a vegan breakfast I have provided this feedback to our Culinary Team as you certainly should have been offered something besides beans for your meal. Again we do apologize for your recent stay and hope this will not hinder you from returning in the near future. ~ Brittany

We stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon and were very disappointed. Elm Hurst failed to live up to being "the finest luxury hotel in southwestern Ontario,” and there was a lack of attention to detail throughout. Positives: 1. The house and grounds are beautiful. 2. The staff were friendly and polite. 3. Dinner was amazing! Negatives: 1. Our room (Lord Connaught) mostly felt like a standard hotel room, not the advertised “romantic getaway.” And where are its "beautiful country views"? 2. The room's "private" patio is very close to an overflow parking lot and a rear hotel entrance, and it's completely open to a public lawn area. The base of the patio umbrella was badly broken. 3. Within minutes of our arrival, one of the heavy side panels on the bathtub fell out and broke. 4. The room’s TV is fairly old and very glitchy. 5. There were no instructions for the jacuzzi. We eventually realised that the timer on the wall beside the heated towel rail was for the jacuzzi and had to be set before the jacuzzi would work. 7. No housekeeping was offered. We've stayed at hotels recently that still offer basic housekeeping during COVID (emptying garbage, making the bed, resupplying toiletries). 8. The breakfast service seemed short-staffed, which meant basic items were consistently forgotten. 9. We were charged twice for our stay. When staff tried to resolve this, another charge was erroneously made to a different credit card. Things eventually got resolved a week after checking out.

Thanks for taking the time to write out this review. We are very sorry to hear you were disappointed in your stay with us. Firstly, congratulations on your Marriage!! We were not aware this stay was your honeymoon pre-arrival or we would have been sure to acknowledge that at check-in and put a little something in the room for you. I'm sorry this opportunity was missed. Second, thank you for the kind words in your "positives" section - we do pride ourselves on the reputation of our wonderful staff and delicious meals. Onto the negatives - our sincere apologies for the issues during your stay. I do recall your billing error as well and appreciated your patience as we sorted that out. We do have many beautiful country views from all sides of our property, pond, walking trail, fountains, and plenty of outdoor seating. The room you booked is one of our very best rooms and is quite popular. We will take into consideration your suggestion for newer TV's and instructions at the jacuzzi tub and appreciate that feedback. Unfortunately for the safety of our staff as well as our guests, we are currently unable to offer stayover housekeeping service per the guidance of the Hotel Association of Canada. We do have notes about this on our website and in our confirmation email so all guests are aware of the limited housekeeping service ahead of arrival. Thanks again for the feedback, and again, congratulations on your Marriage! Kind Regards, Alon Gurman

I wanted to do something special for my best friends 50th birthday so called to book and called and called and left my contact information not only did they never return call she lied and said she left me a message when we finally went in person. She said we are really busy yet she was doing nothing when we arrived and when we walked out after booking spa treatments. Vanessa on reception in the Spa on the other hand kind, friendly, patient as I had bit of trouble hearing with all our masks on. If it wasn't for her kindness we would have went elsewhere. My girlfriend felt so intimidated that she would not ask any questions at desk. The dining room staff for reservations also very polite when I asked for dinner prices as I am not independently wealthy. Fingers crossed our actual experience is much better. I hope the Elmhurst reads this, whomever was manning your front desk on September 1st, 2021 needs a course in customer service. They are the first person anyone meets representing their brand and she would sour Jesus.

Good evening Tarah G, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback about your recent experience visiting our hotel. I do apologize that you did not receive a call back after leaving or message or worse than that not being able to talk to someone when you initially called. This is something we are certainly working on at the front desk to ensure that we are multi-tasking to the best of our abilities. In regards to your current visit to our hotel I do apologize as well for how the Front Desk Representative acted while you visited our establishment yesterday. We literally had the worst experience here. The pictures make the place look beautiful - the architecture, the grounds, the fountains, the spacious rooms and the enticing photos of well plated gourmet cuisine.
It’s all a sham.
Rooms are not clean and have a underlying musty smell to them. TV works, and then doesn’t. Door Key is old-fashioned, and while it is very romantic, it also doesn’t work very well. Nespresso machine gives an elite feeling to the room, but is frustrating to use. Both staff members we spoke to knew of the problems and blamed the age of the building, and various managers for them.
Food is mediocre and extremely overpriced. The quality also varies greatly between meals and dishes. Breakfast buffet is good only in the first 20 minutes, after which it is cold, gloopy and does not get refilled. Cannot rely on quality of the food or the side dishes. We all have different standards and tastes, but cold food, and congealed sauces seem to be below most expectations.
Finally, the “fitness centre” and “business centre” are a joke. Printer and desktop don’t work, and there are 2 machines in the fitness centre with some old looking free weights lying around.
Do not waste your time or money on this joke of a hotel. Overpriced, overrated, and inconsistent service.
How does CAA and Oxford Tourism even justify promoting for them?!

We stayed in a premium suite that was about 410.00 a night with tax so it wasn't a cheap room. The room itself was dirty with thick dust on the tables and finger prints on the tv and fake fireplace. The curtain was falling down in the bedroom and the dining set was so banged up it looked like it came from a second hand store. The bed was so bad we couldn't sleep and ended up leaving early the next morning an air mattress would have been 100% better. I wrote the Inn about this and have not received any reply. The employees we did speak to were very nice and the food was very good but we won't be back but wanted to warn others that they might want to go elsewhere or see the room first because their videos are not what they seem.
