Stopped here on the way up north for lunch. Sat in the bar side, they had a fire on in the fireplace, very cozy atmosphere. Old Timey bar like something from a western, nice music. Placed our order (Bison burger, cheddar melt) with coffee. Coffee was excellent, orders came out in ten minutes. Food was delicious, staff very friendly. Highly...

We decided to order takeout on the way up to our cottage on shadow lake. We've been to the riverside numerous times but wanted to get to cottage. Ordered the wings for the first time and they were awesome! My wife got her favourite chicken parm. Always great food and service. Now enjoying it at the cottage.

3 patrons - 2 had lamb shanks-loved them. 3rd had fish bowl-disappointed. I have had this dish many times-excellent. This time, way too much rice and not enough broth. It was also missing the calamari.

Tuesday Oct. 4/16 - Retired senior couple took a drive up Hwy. 35 from Oshawa (1.5 hr.). We chose this spot as we saw this restaurant on the TV food show "You Gotta Eat Here". Opens at 11 am so came up just as it opened on a Tuesday so it would not be busy. Subdued lighting and quiet atmosphere...

Sometimes I think expectations can colour one's experience so perhaps this review does not do this pub justice. We found the food a little disappointing. My friend had French Onion soup which looked great but laked a depth of flavour. My husband had a seafood curry which was supposed to be Thai but resembled no Thai curry that I had...

Alright first off the food is quite good and one of the owners Margy was really pleasant. Are server not so much, a friend and I wanted the pasta to share and an app, so we order the pasta to split and she immediately says that is not allowed here.. "what"? We're getting a few apps too.. ok that will...

This place reminds me of some of the gastro pubs in Britain that I used to frequent. It has a cosy feel to it and the menu contains many interesting choices, even a couple of Asian dishes. I chose the Vegetable Madras curry (which came with deep-fried popadom and a garden salad) and my boys and wife and chicken fingers...

Great food, great service, huge portions, unique menu. We have been there a few times and have never left disappointed! I recommend making a reservation as every time we've been there it is very busy. Oh, and bacon wrapped pickles... yum! (Don't knock it till you've tried it!)

We had a really nice lunch here - the food was outstanding, and the portions were huge. And stopping here made for a nice break in our drive. It's located right on the corner of two main roads so it is a convenient stop. But I think they could do more business by simplifying the process. When we walked in,...
