Our cabin consists of two separate units. You may rent one unit in the cabin or combine the two units and rent the entire cabin to yourself if available. The standard rate online features the downstairs unit. It sleeps two people. It is one bedroom with one queen bed, en suite bathroom and shower, fireplace, refrigerator, satellite tv and a private entrance. The second unit upstairs consists of one bedroom with en suite bathroom with wooden bathtub and satellite tv. and separate entrance. When renting the upstairs you will have access the main floor with a full custom kitchen, dining area, living room and full laundry facility. Whatever option you choose all guests will have access to: complimentary hard wired high speed WI Fi throughout, wrap around decks with BBQ, outside dining area, comfortable lounge chairs and a large screen porch with amazing views of the North Channel, Lake Huron and untouched nature. We have a large sand beach, great areas for swimming in clear water and fishing directly off the rocks steps from your door. If you have noticed our reviews you will probably decide to hire our chef to prepare meals on site in the cabin's kitchen or you may decide to prepare your own meals, your choice. We are proud of our overall booking online rating of 9.1 and rare staff/customer service rating of 9.9 over a two year period. We are dedicated to customer service and want everyone to know what to expect and fully enjoy their vacation holiday. The cabin was built literally from scratch. All of the timber was harvested locally, rough sawn and constructed with detail and originality in mind with modern amenities. Amazing lake views and nature, memories you will not soon forget. Thank you for your consideration, Nathan and Andrea

Amazing location, really good food in a modern setting. Individual service from the owner made us feel right at home. The view off the veranda was nothing short of spectacular. We had a great time! Should have stayed longer.

Found this remotely located cabin online and decided to stay based on reasonable price and gorgeous location. The beautiful setting on the lake with magical sunsets could not have been more spectacular.

Regarding the cabin arrangements -
I'm glad that we were not aware of the following unknowns prior to booking or we would not have stayed but are pleased we did.
The cabin is located perhaps 25 minutes off the highway. The ride down the dirt lane to the cabin is best made in a car that does not sit low to the ground.
Our price included an upstairs bedroom and bath and use of open living area on main floor.
The open stairs were very tricky and difficult for me to navigate (I'm in my 50's). The website indicates that the cabin is elder accessible but it is not. No railings either. The steps up to the deck also had no railings. Potentially dangerous for little ones also. There is another bedroom on the main floor which is of course much more easily accessible
Along with our bedroom/bathroom, we also had use of the open concept laundry, kitchen, and cozy little two sofa sitting area which, in our case, was shared with another couple. This was sort of like a B&B minus the presence of the owner.
Prior to arrival, we did not understand that we would have use of the kitchen to cook for ourselves. Upon meeting the owner at the cabin, he told us to feel free to use the equipped kitchen and laundry appliances. Sure wish we brought food.
The noise in the cabin travels and we could hear private conversations and toileting of the other rental couple. Our new friends were very quiet and considerate and so were we. I can't imagine how badly this would have ended if either/both of us had been loud and drinking or turned up tv volume.
The running water in the house was brown and undrinkable, but the owner provided plenty of bottled water. I chose not to shower or wash my hair in the dirty water.
Upon our tour of our quarters, I was initially disappointed that the wooden soaking tub shown in online pictures was out of commission dt leaking; however, after seeing the nasty brown water I would not have soaked in it anyway.
Very odd that the only coffeemaker in this cabin was located in the room of the other couple. They were surprised that we did not have access to one of our own and generously shared their coffee with us. Nathan was available for cooking breakfast but we declined (had to leave early).
Bear in mind that when
staying this close to a lake comes the unwanted amenity of mosquitoes. The pesky guys finally forced us inside where we then killed them off, even later in the night after we were in bed.
Nathan is a sweet guy and available to demonstrate his culinary skills at dinner and breakfast. Our cabin mates thoroughly enjoyed their special dinner of steak, Greek salad and fries (20$ each). The price of dinner could not be found online and since I simply didn't want to ask, we passed on this option.
Nathan lives just down the road and is available at a moments notice. We enjoyed our stay (and I survived those stairs), but the cabin arrangements wouldn't work out for just anyone.

From the moment we booked with Nathan we knew we had found something special. He was so accommodating and helpful from beginning all the way through our stay. We had seen some pictures and it looked like a nice, clean place to stay. It wasn't until we pulled up that we knew we had found a hidden gem. Nathan greeted us as we pulled into the ample parking and after a brief tour, let us freshen up as he finished making an amazing meal of fresh pickerel and chips, which we ate on the deck overlooking the gorgeous lake view, as the sun started it descent. The cabin itself was impeccable, very cottage chic with all the amenities including WIFI and satellite TV. After a comfortable, peaceful sleep, we woke to the smell of a homemade breakfast which soon revealed delicious blueberry pancakes, eggs and bacon - just perfect for hitting the trails on our quads. Nearby is Fort LaCloche - a short but stunning trail leading to some breathtaking views with waterfalls and hidden lakes off the beaten path. That night Nathan cooked us another amazing homemade meal of herbed BBQ chicken and mashed potatoes. We will definitely be back in winter for sledding!! A place like Foxy's on the Lake makes 'roughing it' easy!

Foxys has and deserves a great rating. We were almost deterred by one of the TripAdvisor reviews which indicated a few flaws, such as: difficulty in driving on the path to the cabin, lack of a railing on the staircase and difficulty in climbing the stairs, and unclean water.
Fortunately, we ignored that review and ended up finding one of the most charming olaces we've ever stayed at.
The only "difficult" part of the off-highway part of the drive is the last 100 meters - and it was not difficult. We were driving a regular sedan car and it handled the path just fine.
The staircase: indeed lacks a railing (and therefore may not be suitable for unsupervised children) but the staircase is wide enough and we had no problems whatsoever with the stairs - and we are 60-ish.
The water: plenty of bottled water is provided for drinking... and there was no problem showering.
And now for the wonders of Foxys: the view overlooking Lake Huron, as the cabin is literally at the lake's edge; the beauty, the serenity, the privacy, the sound of the lapping waves; the cozy feeling of the wood-paneled rooms. (And, for connecting with the outside world, the wifi was steady and strong.)
In short - a perfect place to get away from it all.

Read Jillsbury's review, dead on!! We had ordered dinner several days in advance. Nathan did a splendid job of cooking the fresh Pickerel however Pickerel and frozen french fries for $20 was a little over priced considering that's what you got. No bread, salad or desert. We easily found it using the GPS. The location 's view is spectacular and since we had the cabin to ourselves it was completely quiet. Bring food, the fridge had milk, orange juice ans lots of water. The internet was good, we didn't watch the TV but over all enjoyed the stay.

The water is well water. There is iron in the water that makes it look rusty. Big deal, you are in an awesome remote location at a cabin and not at a big city hotel. Plenty of fresh drinking water is provided. Fishing equipment is provided. Boat rentals are available.
