After being in quarantine for a few months, our family just needed to get away for a few days. We found this great local gem just a week before our visit. As this is a full service, all inclusive resort, we didn't have to do much planning or preparation in advance.

We knew this resort just reopened and given this was our first time staying at Shamrock Lodge we didn't have much expectation. However, our experience was very positive and enjoyable. The family members and staff did everything they could to make us feel welcomed and our needs taken care of. The property and our room was very cleaned (we stayed at the Pinewood). The amenities are in good shape and we could just sit back, relax, and have fun. Even though the resort had to scale back some of their activities (like Kids Klub, nightly entertainment), we still had plenty to do. We especially loved the tubing and sunset platoon boat rides that Tim took us on. The view of the lake was spectacular and we could not get enough of the beautiful scenery that surrounded us.

The meals were also delicious. There were different options to choose from each day and the food tasted fresh. The pastries and desserts were top notch as well. The kids meals also had plenty of choices, although my 4 year old stuck with the pizza for all 4 nights because he just loved it.

The location was great. Downtown Port Carling is just a few minutes drive away which have some nice shops and restaurants. There is also Foodland which came in handy as we forgot to bring marshmallows with us. They have two fire pits so we made a bonfire every night.

The only thing that would have made this experience even more perfect is central air conditioning. We didn't know you can rent portable A/C units so we went without one the first night and the room was too hot even with a few fans going. I would recommend renting one as it made the rest of the stay much more comfortable, especially during the summer time.

We really enjoyed our time and stay at Shamrock Lodge. We will definitely be back.

Thanks to Covid-19 we got to discover the gem that is Shamrock Lodge. From our first phone conversation with Gary we expected this experience to be a good one. Turns out it wasn't good, it was amazing. All the staff, Su/Gary/Tim/Chris, and all the wait staff treat everyone like family. Even without children programming this summer, my daughter enjoyed the canoe, paddle boat & paddle board. And she really loved tubing. Tim is a fantastic and patient coach. The food was fantastic. Shamrock Lodge has activities for all and also provides a great quiet place to relax and recharge. Roasting marshmallows at night was another highlight for everyone as well as the sunset pontoon ride. And let's not forget the Friday night fireworks.
As much as it pained us not being able to visit our out of province family this summer, we left Shamrock having made another family in Muskoka. We don't write many reviews, only when we're extremely impressed but this review is more than warranted.
Thank you all at the resort for accepting us in the family. Looking forward to next summer's stay.

Fire in the hole.

Chantal / Peter & Lauren Ash

What a great 3 night getaway! It is definitely worth the visit. The meals were delicious. The owners and the staff were amazing. Waterskiing, SUP, kayaking, shuffle board, bingo and s’mores. Amazing!

Due to Covid-19, there was a smaller number of visitors and the lodge took all the precautions to make sure we were all safe and having fun.

Tim the owner took us out on two boat rides. It was great to see Lake Rousseau. He also took us out waterskiing and tubing. The stay includes 1 water sky or tubing per day per person.

In addition they have various water crafts to use throughout your stay.

The meals were great! And how lovely to feel like you’re at a cottage and have all the meals made for you! The rooms include a small fridge, but we really didn’t need it.

One night my friend had a bite from a deer fly. We called the office and Karen came over immediately to help us! She was awesome. The staff care about their jobs and ensures we are all having a good time and are taken care of.

Thanks Shamrock Lodge for the stay.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights over Canadian Thanksgiving weekend 2020.  The property has a stunning view of the lake.  This is a family (with kids) resort. There are 4 channels on the tv (3 sports and 1 kids). DIY entertainment (leave the resort for hikes, boat cruises and lunch). The wait staff all seemed very new (beverages not refilled, having to ask for basic condiments like ketchup and sugar erc).  The "all-inclusive" food was very bland and often cold at breakfast and dinner (possibly another issue with staff) and includes coffee, oj (at breakfast) and water but does not include soda.  The corking fee for byo wine at dinner is $17.50.

We left the resort on our 2nd evening for a fantastic dinner at a local restaurant Richwells which was 5*.

Our room did not get cleaned at all during our stay - so towels and toilet paper never replaced or replenished, despite signs in the room suggesting otherwise.

We were in a main floor room, after reserving a top floor room. There was a rambunctious family above us, which we had hoped to avoid with an opposite stay arrangement.  We had cronic smokers to our balcony window side, which meant we couldn't leave the balcony screen door open as the smell may have generated the resorts $200 cleaning fee for smokers.

There was a fridge in our room. No coffee machine or kettle in the room. The microwave and ice machine are in the common area dining room.  Guests can use the microwave and can request ice. Coffee is available from the kitchen upon request.

Every Thanksgiving the owers host a large group of family, which we were told were not coming this year due to the low guest numbers required for Covid. There was a large (for Covid times) group of about 15-20 people that seemed to be very comfortable and were abrupt with the other guests.  They were seated together in tables of 10 and 2 x 4. I would not suggest staying at the resort when there is this type of large group, as they tax the limited staff resources.

My extended family and I stayed here august 9-11. The service was incredible especially food and beverage manager Chris and owners Tim and Gary. Food was above expectations and amenities were as expected. Make sure you bring blankets for your beds if you like extra warm nights or ask for air conditioners if you like things cooler.

This was our eighth year visiting Shamrock Lodge. I'm not sure there is stronger endorsement than that.

We first visited when our children were two and five. The activities they enjoy have changed over the years, but Shammy never fails to provide us with and exceptional summer vacation. We have never left without booking for the next year.

As others have mentioned, restrictions were in place this year due to COVID-19. Tim, Gary, Susan, Jacquileen, Elie, Emma, Matt, Marissa, and all of the staff behind the scenes put in tremendous effort to make Shammy safe for guests.

This year's vacation distilled what is truly special about Shamrock lodge: the friends you make every year, the outstanding hospitality of the staff, the beautiful lake and beach, and the chance to truly unwind with your family (no cooking!). While we hope for a return to full operations in 2021, our family still ranked 2020 as one of our best vacations ever.

This was a first time for our family of five up to Shamrock Lodge. We cannot say enough good things about our experience. The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, safe (covid), and help us with anything we needed! Highlights for us were the boat cruises, the tubing, the various boats to use, the indoor pool, the campfires, fireworks, the lake and beach for play, the amazing room (we stayed in the Elmwood 2), and the awesome food (with great vegetarian options)! Needless to say, we are already talking about plans for next summer. We wish we could rate it higher than five stars!

Shamrock Lodge- an all inclusive family resort on picturesque Lake Rosseau which offers your family a complete vacation. Tim, Gary, Sue, Chris offer you everything you want and more. Large spacious rooms or cottages. Their staff is attentive, friendly and professional. From water skiing, tubing, paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, water trampoline and paddle boards to daytime and sunset cruises offered daily. Outdoor Shuffleboard, playgrounds, kids club and an indoor pool. There is weekly fireworks and nightly bonfires with marshmallows. Dining at its finest. (Be prepared to put on a few extra pounds)They are all there to provide you with the best possible vacation. Ask Tim about the history of the lodge and be sure to look at the pictures around the sitting rooms. (You will see a royal ) Did I mention everything is included! This is a resort with many returning families year after year. Make sure to visit this gem on Lake Rosseau, you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you to the Bryant’s and staff for your very special lodge which allowed us to create important memories for summer 2020. Whether it’s the loon, the breathtaking view, a kind word, a good morning, an amazing meal, a perfect room or an unforgettable waterski tube or pontoon boat around the lake, the owners and staff know how magic is created. It’s why the kids begged to return to Shamrock for the 4th time and for the second time this summer. And it’s why we were so excited to share in the magic by bringing along 2 sets of very close friends. Thank you team Shammy!
