There were a series of things, none of them earth shattering, that left my wife and I feeling that were better options as far as a place to stay. 1. After booking the first night I called and booked a second. It was not recorded correctly, so upon arrival they clerks thought I had two rooms booked for the same night. 2. There was maintenance work being done in the hallway. Maintenance is always a good thing, but perhaps some warning/explanation could have been given as to why there were large holes in the hallway walls and why the lights in the ceiling were flashing as if the hallway was haunted. 3. There was almost no water pressure in the bathroom sink. 3. There was no hot water Saturday morning. I had a speaking engagement that morning and could not shower in preparation. A discount was recorded on our bill, but has not yet hit my VISA account. I will keep an eye. 4. On the second day we returned back to the hotel mid-afternoon to a room that had not been cleaned or the bed made up. The cleaning staff seemed to be working close by so I felt certain they were coming. They never did come. No discount was given for this lack of service which was included in the price. Comments to the ladies at the front desk regarding this were greeted with blank stares. No discount was offered. So, when you put it all together, it wasn't our best stay in a hotel.

We stayed here during a hockey tournament being held In neighboring Cobourg.

The hotel is very basic, but it’s clean and has everything you need for a good night’s sleep.

Located within a few minutes’ walk are: Tim Hortons, Subway (24 hours), Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet and NY Fries, as well as a gas station/convenience store.

Breakfast is basic continental, but plentiful and re-stocked frequently.

This is a great place to stay for value for cost, as well as proximity to amenities.

My wife and I recently stayed there from Saturday to Tuesday. We would never stay at a Comfort Inn again. The room smelled musty, with wallpaper peeling off the walls. There were stains on the couch and carpet. Breakfast was well stocked Sunday morning. Come Monday morning no more scrambled eggs and everybody was asking are there going to make more scrambled eggs. The response was no more. Bagels were gone, and very few danishes and muffins were gone. Hard-boiled eggs were almost gone as well. Tuesday morning there were no more scrambled eggs and only white bread. But at least there were enough Hard boiled eggs, a Very small eating area As a Choice Hotel I would make a different choice about staying there. The mattress and pillows were lumpy.

Our company has been staying at this hotel for over a year now while working in the area. Jill, the lady at the front desk is one of the most pleasant and helpful receptionist I have ever come across. Her smile is so pleasant and she is always willing to help.
If you can give her a raise please do, she is well worth the investment for your hotel. Thank you again Jill !

In my 2 day stay here the front desk staff NEVER wore a mask, neither did any but 1 of the guests. I understand some people have medical exemptions, but an entire hotel? BS.. The hotel staff seem to refuse to both wear and request mask usage. They must assume that due to low Covid numbers in their region they are safe, but this hotel is literally a stone's throw away from the 401 and travellers come from anywhere - I was very disappointed in the health and safety protocols. Won't ever stay at a Comfort Inn again.

So disappointed in this Comfort Inn. We have stayed at many comfort Inns across the country because of their cleanliness, service and breakfasts. This one is nasty. Carpet worn and dirty, Mold and mildewed curtains, wallpaper peeling, hair dryer did not work, grounds dirty - cigarette butts every where. No security - back entrance never locked. No full breakfast - just continental. This comfort inn is in dire need of reno’s. This is not your standard Comfort Inn hotel.

I pulled sheets back to go to bed. Found someone else's hair and other specks of something (skin? scabs?). Incredibly gross. Other bed didn't seem so bad

I was given one bar of soap. Needed two bars of soap (one for sink, one for shower). When I asked for another bar of soap, was told that there was NO MORE SOAP in the hotel, and didn't know when next shipment coming. Incredible. Never had a hotel not have soap.

Room very bad musty smell. Peeling / fraying carpet, paint peeling off windows, spider in bath tub. Noise easily transmits through door from hallway.

AC incredibly noisy. I turned it off and opened window and preferred to hear traffic outside rather than the trainwreck of the AC.

Wifi was as expected though, OK. Breakfast was OK (as expected at that price point, lower standard than say Hampton Inn, but edible), and sausage was surprisingly tasty).

As long as you are prepared, you can stay at this hotel. Just be forewarned. When I backpacked around Europe as a student, I stayed in places not dissimilar - but I knew what I was getting (and paid way less), and frankly, the beds were always cleaner than this.

Stayed here for two nights as part of the Northumberland Highland Games. It is a pretty basic hotel. Rooms are reasonably clean and the price is certainly more reasonable than some of the other choices. They have a free breakfast available but we chose to grab food at the Tim Hortons which is just across the driveway. I would recommend it for a basic and safe place to stay. Just off the 401 at 28.

This hotel needs a complete makeover and clean-up. The furniture in our room was threadbare; the mattress soft and worn; the bed was sloppily made up; the couch cushions were worn out and worn down; the sink was scratched; there were two hair dryers, neither of which worked; the floor of the unit was gritty, and the TV picture was cloudy and unclear. The breakfast room (really the very small lobby with about four tables) was small and crowded, and, even 30 minutes before the breakfast service was over, we had to request cutlery, plates, and breakfast items. The front desk clerk appeared uninterested in the problems. The price we paid was high. We will never stay there again.

You can all read the reviews about how tired and unclean this hotel is. Bad enough, but their lack of care for their guests health is inexcusable. I had prepaid for my stay and the morning of the day we were supposed to drive down and check-in I developed a very severe cough. Not a stomache ache or head ache, but a severe cough. We all know what that could be (i hope not but will be visiting a clinic). I called to cancel for my own health and for the health of others - it is called being responsible. Hotel owner and manager refused. They apparently would prefer me to cough all over the property, other guests, and their inadequate breakfast buffet. Seriously, you can't make this kind of stupidity up. Of course I won't do that. Based on my experience people would have to be nuts to stay at this place.
