The Manor is Victorian perfection and perfect for getaways, as well as events! The owners are lovely and go above and beyond. The food is 5 star and more than worth the reasonable prices! Cant wait to visit again!

Centrally located in beautiful Port Hope. Wonderful hosts. Excellent food. The manor is an amazing example of Victorian architecture. The bed was very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was amazing. I will return.

We had a lovely time at Summerhill Manor. Corinne and Ron were fabulous hosts, friendly and accommodating. The B&B is clean, comfy and inviting. Ron served us muesli waffles with fruit and sausages for breakfast the first morning, and frittatas with bacon the next. The food was excellent.

Stayed overnight after going to the theatre. We were warmly welcomed by the owners when we arrived. A lovely Victorian home. Cosy and warm, lovely decorated. Wonderful beds for sleeping. Breakfast in tea room room the next morning was lovely. The sunshine was streaming through the window as we ate and listened to Christmas music in the background.

Stayed one night, Prior to booking we asked if it was airconditioned. A major requirement due to health reasons. Hottest day of the year. Room was able cold upon book in, However, during the evening the owners lowers it down. Fans in room not ample. The other area that needs improvement is Breakfeast choices. You have none. Take it or leave it. Waffles and fresh fruit served cold. This is a nice place overall, however beware.

We are sorry you were not happy with your stay. We do our best to keep our 166 year old house comfortable. You did not communicate to us upon booking nor checking in that you had health issues. Normally this would not have been an issue. Unfortunately the motor on the air-conditioner was failing the night of your stay hence our need to moderate it. Without asking or notifying us, and without any regard to how it may affect our other guests, you took it upon yourself to crank the main thermostat to its lowest setting which immediately burned out the motor shutting down the system completely. We were fortunate to get a replacement one the next day, but the emergency repair cost a couple extra hundred dollars due to your actions. When I checked you in I pointed out the card that had contact numbers to reach us for any concerns. When I asked you about the situation, you said you had no way to contact us, even though that info was clearly visible on the tv table in your room. When I offered suggestions to help, you shut the door in my face while I was talking and before I was able to offer to change rooms. As for breakfast my husband made beautiful muesli belgian waffles with sausages and fresh fruit, which was his selection for the day. If you want a hotel with a full restaurant for breakfast, then perhaps a Bed& Breakfast in someone's heritage home is not a good fit for you. You disrespected us, our home and our other guests, you were rude despite our attempts to make the situation better. It is disappointing that you would write a negative review that is out of context and not wholly truthful.
