Great well appointed furnish apartment. We were between houses and need somewhere to live. It was the perfect apartment with all the needed amenities. The bed was the most comfortable we have slept in. We actually wrote the make down so we can get one. The owners were very accommodating right down to the type of coffee maker we wanted. Two bathrooms was a big bonus. A very convenient location right on the river, lit paths and downtown restaurants. The perfect spot.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Port Hope Suites for three months while looking for a house to buy. We would recommend the suites for anyone looking for short term rentals in Port Hope. The location is excellent for walking and exploring the historic downtown area. Many amenities are within easy walking distance (restaurants, coffee shops, theatre etc.). Overlooking the Ganaraska River, you have a good view of the area. The manager Ken, is more than accommodating with any requests. Would stay there again!

We have stayed here at Port Hope Suites from Oct 19, 2019 until January 30, 2020. Port Hope suites was recommended by a friend who was under similar circumstances. Our new condo, currently under construction has been delayed 4x and we needed a furnished apartment to live. This place was ideal. Fully furnished, comfortable and functional in a great location close to all Port Hope amenities. The owner, Ken, has been most accommodating. When I asked for an upgrade to the available TV channels, he attended to my request forthwith. We would not hesitate in recommending Port Hope Suites for both short and long term stays.

We were fortunate enough to stay at Port Hope Suites for 4 months between selling and buying our house. We would absolutely recommend this place without hesitation. It is in a lovely location in historical Port Hope right along the banks of the Ganaraska River. All of the downtown shops, restaurants and other services are within a short stroll. The apartment itself was well equipped and we found it to be bright and cheery with windows on 3 sides. We especially enjoyed the soothing sounds of the river and felt right at home the minute we set foot inside the door. Upon leaving the apartment, we felt a bit melancholy leaving such a perfectly suited place for our short term stay.

We booked Port Hope suites as a base while in Canada visiting family, what a superb choice. The process of booking from UK was made easy with the gracious professionalism of K Garrett even a courtesy phone call. On arrival the standard of the suite for the cost was amazing we really felt we had great value. The suite was spacious very tidy and extremely well appointed and I give the title of the comfiest bed I have ever slept in to Port Hope Suites. The location is town central for varied restaurants, which there are many. shops and all transport links. Walking to the beech was also just a ten minuet stroll. To stay in such a historical building so well presented with the river view was such a delight . We plan to return to Canada and will stay again at Port Hope Suites where I can make my own meals if desired and sleep well, thank you Mr Garrett

We had sold our house in Port Hope, moving to B.C. we required accommodation for a week or more and our Real Estate Agent pointed us in the direction of the Port Hope Suites, where we stayed for 10 days, A great location, right "down town", on the banks of the Ganaraska River, overlooking the library and park, which was lovely at that time with Christmas Trees and Lights. The building itself was built in 1840, very historical, one of the first brick buildings in the towns prosperous era, it was the first customs house and later the post office. Very comfortable, tastefully furnished, a comfy 4 poster bed, 2 bathrooms, small self contained kitchen, stove/fridge/micro etc. which we really appreciated, not having to eat out all the time, clean and very affordable. It is a 2 or 3 storey building depending on how you count the floors, but no elevator, we were on the top floor so certainly got our exercise. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores and the lovely Capital Theatre with their excellent shows. The owners Ken & Bonnie were great to deal with and we would certainly recommend the Suites to anyone.

You know the old adage that if it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is, well this is one of those rare exceptions. This is my second time staying at Port Hope Suites (when life gets to stressful in the big city, I run away to Port Hope...and THIS is home). A gigantic, river front suite in a high quality restoration of an 1838 building (that used to be the town's post office), beautifully decorated and furnished...and with a large bedroom, two bathrooms, a-comes with-everything kitchen (imagine how much one saves in dining out for a whole week, when you can cook at home), and a beautifully spacious living room....It does not feel like hotel living, but living at home. A five minute walk from anywhere...so, you'd think a delightful/comfy 7 day/night stay would cost you an arm and a leg...NOT! Been home one day and I already miss it.

I am working in Port Hope and living in the Kingston area. I have the good fortune of staying at the Port Hope Suites during the week. While it would be preferable to not have to be away from home, I can't think of a better place to be in Port Hope! Here at the Port Hope Suites you can walk to anywhere easily in the downtown core and the view of the mighty Ganaraska, City Hall and Public Library is just perfect. The one bedroom, 2 bathroom suite I am in is fully furnished and equipped. There is nothing I need to bring from home for an extended stay. The owners, Ken and Bonnie are truly wonderful to deal with. While it appears that wolf8 had a bad experience, s/he is talking about another time under different ownership. The building is from 1838 or so and has been completely restored to its original period correct architecture. If you like old things in great shape with a beautiful location in a downtown, small town setting, this is the place to be!
