This was our first holiday since CoVid lockdown, so I was vigilant about ensuring that wherever we stay is following protocols. So we did our research and asked questions to make sure, and staff answers was reassuring enough so we just went for it!
Newsroom Suite was spotless and immaculate. And although it was contactless Check in and check out, the staff were readily available with any questions we had. We really had no concerns except wanting recommendations on best patio restaurants.
Besides our safety concerns being met, suite #4 was perfect for a family of four, the furnishings, decor and amenities were great, the location was perfect being in Main Street of Wellington(close to Sandbanks, other quaint towns like Picton and Bloomfield, wineries, Lake on the Mountain)!!!
The suite included a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, percolator, and sofa bed in living room area.
Will come back and highly recommend.

This is such a beautiful suites hotel. It has gorgeous gardens with neat decking filled with plants, flowers and many places to relax outside if you choose. The owners are lovely people and very accommodating. We stayed in the King room at the front of the hotel and it was very spacious and beautifully adorned. The bathroom was large and supplied with luxurious absorbent towels. The bed was very comfortable. The room had a well stocked kitchenette with various small appliances including a coffee grinder and coffee beans! It was a nice surprise to find milk and cream in the fridge or our tea and coffee. There were small touches like this throughout including an umbrella and beach towels. Wellington is a nice area with lots of restaurants, galleries, a lakeside park and a grocery store beside the hotel. We will book with this hotel again for sure.

A modest exterior fronts beautiful suites. These owners haven’t missed anything in creating beautifully clean, modern and spacious suites that encourage longer stays. A well equipped kitchenette allows guests to self cater if they wish. We stayed in the original building which has been freshly updated and although the four suites were occupied we never heard a sound from anyone else. Our hosts were friendly and responsive. We would love to return.

We stayed at Newsroom Suites for 3 nights in early June. It is located on the Main Street so easy to walk to shops, restaurants, etc. Grocery store is next door. Even before arrival, our hosts, Rick and Kathryn were accessible by email and phone to answer any questions. Check in was easy as Kathryn happened to be in the office when we arrived but "no contact" check in is set up.Check out was "no contact" and easy as well. We stayed in Deluxe King Room 2 which is on the second floor across from Room 1. We had no problem with the stairs but they could pose a problem if one had mobility issues. There are other rooms accessible directly from the ground level. Our "suite" was spacious and well appointed with everything we needed to prepare breakfast or light lunch. (kettle, microwave, bar fridge, toaster, coffee maker - with coffee and tea. There is no table in this suite but using the desk or coffee table wasn't a problem. There is secure, ground level storage for bicycles. Limited parking in front but arrangements for parking across the street as well as street parking.
A few rainy days limited our use of the front veranda. If you are looking for a lovely place to stay in The County, this is it- especially if you are looking to stay longer than a night or two. It ticks all the boxes.

After a 8hr flight and a 2+hr drive we were greeted by a friendly young lady that even apologised for our long journey! She recommended lots of things for us to do and places to eat (the Midtown brewery was amazing and literally across the road). Very large room with comfy bed and everything you could possibly need. Wellington is the most wonderful place and we completely fell in love with it. Even though we travelled all that way would definately do it again and would stay at the Newsroom suites. As far as location goes this seemed like the best place to stay as you still could walk to restaurants and supermarkets.

A gem in midtown Welly. NRS is neatly laid out - front all purpose sitting room w/ access to kitchenette. Well appointed bathroom - tub [ TUB ] and shower. Bedroom was roomy and felt airy and light
Someone thought this set up through. No surprises and plenty of necessary things

We stayed in the Newsroom Suites last week as part of a whistle stop anniversary tour of Lake Ontario. We absolutely LOVED every minute of our stay there. From being greeted warmly by the lovely owners Kathleen & Scott to discovering our gorgeous room and all its luxurious furnishings it genuinely felt like a real home from home. We had a wonderful time in Wellington just mooching around the cute boutique shops and excellent restaurants. I’d particularly recommend the Mexican restaurant La Condesa and the Mid Town Brewing Co. Also Drake Devonshire Hotel for breakfast with an amazing view of the lake is a must!

Last getaway of 2020, and there weren’t many (two in total), but Newsroom was the tonic that my wife and I needed. Plus, this place is just lights out tastefully decorated, stylish and chic. Honestly, top five places after years of travel around the world. Way to go Kathleen and Rick. Plus, located in a beautiful little town with enough to keep people properly entertained and enjoyably fed. Going back to a tough fall and winter, but glad I had the time to be alone with my wife and see a couple friends.

We stayed at Newsroom Duites a few years ago but this time chose a newly built garden suite. It is absolutely stunning! Kathleen is lovely and we are only too happy to give her our loyalty. We loved every minute and felt totally Covid-safe!
