My wife and I spend 2 nights at the Hotel over New Years. Full disclosure , we have travelled quite extensively and are discerning travellers always seeking a memorable; unique experience. We like “Nice” and do not mind paying for that experience. Our grades! room 3….. small/contemporary but sparse…. (Creek side)Only One chair in the room at the desk, no where to read except on the bed? No adequate seating in the main lobby either possibly because of New Years? :food 3.5… Had breakfast and 2 dinners on site. Very nice setting in the dining area. Without going into detail a couple of the entrees over the weekend were simply disappointing . On a positive note full marks for the ( strip loin) on the first night.Excellent! : staffing 4.5. ….. greeted with a welcome smile at checkin and treated very well by all the staff throughout our stay. Servers were fantastic! :New Years Party:4.5 The weekend highlight was a post dinner celebration NYE dance with a cool DJ…. Loads of fun and a perfect way to ring in 2023! Had a great brunch with friends today at the Drake Devonshire restaurant. Our server Jaya did a great job and all of the food was really tasty, especially the Chicken and Waffles! As always an amazing setting and views of Lake Ontario. Will definitely return with friends for the food, service and views!

The artsy hotel is very charming and in a beautiful location. The staff were pleasant, and the atmosphere has a relaxing yet energetic vibe. The view from our room was quite nice and definitely worth the upgrade. We visited to celebrate my fiancee's birthday, and so I added the celebration package to let the team know. The add-on package was $65 which included a bottle of sparkling wine, a card and celebration balloon. The sparkling wine was a nice $19 bottle from a local winery that we loved (Rose Hall Pixie), the card was essentially an oversized business card with "happy birthday" written in pen, and the balloon never showed up.. I expected more effort for a special (birthday) request, doubly so for an add-on so I would not recommend spending money on the "Celebration Package". Overall, the value for price has room for improvement.…

Loved our stay. Great location, uniquely designed. Views from dining room are awesome. Great places to eat on foot. A tad pricey for the size of room hence the 4*. Would recommend you come check it out. Fun spot!

Had lunch, dinner and breakfast, stayed overnight and had an in-room massage. Every single thing, including the people, was fantastic! A must stay for anyone. The Drake is pricey for sure, but it really is a beautiful place....and bonus, right on the lake!

We booked the drake as we read it was a nice place to visit, our room was in the motel part of the Drake, we are travelling with two small children 1 and 3 years old. Our room was placed on the second floor which was very easy with a stroller, the room was for us also very cold and noisy with the airco. So we switched it off and we woke up cooked in the morning. Also the beds are not comfortable.. The fridge makes a big noise.. We are not complainers but you expect more if you pay close to 700$ a night.. next time we will book the four seasons for this price :-) Food and restaurant was good but overpriced. Staff can be a bit more friendly and the hosting desk for guiding you to the table can be better organised.

We had a hideous experience at what I think is a totally overpriced overhyped place. We came as a family of 3 with a one year old baby. This is what happened to us: 1- our room (number 103) was FREEZING cold. They tried to fix the air conditioner when we complained but couldn’t. As a result we had to cosleep with our baby due to the freezing cold, which left us up all night given it is unsafe to co sleep with a one year old. The next day they brought in someone to fix it, but he, too, failed. So they turned the heat on for us. The room turned so hot that our baby was awake for most of the night crying from the heat. 2- we asked for housekeeping service, which was mediocre. The sheets where our child had left a fruit stain had not been changed. The carpet where baby left some bread crumb left not cleaned. Garbage bin not emptied. 3- we ordered a steak for dinner, medium rare. It arrived so rare that the cow was on the edge of mooing. 4- we arrived with a baby and two heavy bags. No one seemed concerned with helping us get the bags in. Front desk at some point completely avoided us. Seemed cold and unresponsive. 5- breakfast was hideous. Dinner good but nothing special. We left feeling depleted , mentally and physically totally exhausted. They covered the cost of one of our two nights. But to be honest we thought it would have been only fair to cover both nights given the temperature of the room (btw, outside was 29C). Ended up costing us upward of $1000 for one night. We will never come back here. Beyond disappointed and bummed.…

This is our 4th stay at the Drake Devonshire , and each time is better than the last. I’m not sure how they do it, but from the front staff, to the stunning grounds, to the amazing restaurant meals and outstanding service!! Each visit exceeds the one before. Whether it’s a romantic getaway, or a fun trip with little ones, you will enjoy every minute. Beaches are stunning and walking distance from the resort. We love it so much, we are already booked for next year. Can’t say enough about this incredible Inn! Highly recommend!
