We recently spent one night to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was our first time visiting the region. The boutique hotel was fantastic and our Creekside room was spacious and very comfortable with a beautiful view of the creek and the partial view of the lake was also impressive. We enjoyed an excellent dinner as well as breakfast the following morning. The eggs benedict was amazing. From my initial reservation with Cathy to our check-in with Jeremy and all the staff especially our servers at dining were truly exceptional. They all made my wife feel special! We will definitively make this an annual trip.

We went to the Drake Devonshire for my 40th birthday. It cost us $2100 for two rooms for one night, plus a 300 dollar dinner. It was a huge disappointment. The rooms were old and shabby. The furniture was ugly and not at all in keeping with the aesthetic of the Drake. There were no amenities. Dinner was a huge disappointment. Terrible service. Long wait. With kids. Surprisingly Bad food. They ran out of complementary cookies and after a 30min wait they gave us one (for a party of 6). When I let them know they were not responsive. The beach was the only thing that lived up to expectations. A huge waste of time and money. I left in tears.

Hello soloutre, We strive for our guests to leave us in better spirits than when they came, and it is obvious from your review that we have failed. If you would be so kind as to e-mail me at jcuerrier@drakedevonshire.ca, I would love the opportunity to connect with you so that we can discuss the issues that you encountered during your stay and hopefully welcome you back to the County. Yours in service, Jeremy Cuerrier Rooms Manager

We eloped at the Drake Devonshire and every moment of the experience was amazing! The staff were extremely helpful in planning and executing our special day, and the property is absolutely stunning. We stayed in the Owner's Suite on our wedding night. The gorgeous pictures don't do it justice, it is somehow even more beautiful in person. We also enjoyed two meals in their restaurant including on our wedding night and both the service and food were phenomenal. We would definitely recommend staying at the Drake Devonshire, or stopping in the restaurant for a meal. We can't wait to come back!

Thank you so much for making our stay beyond expectations. It has been a struggle with all of these covid restrictions lately and we were so excited to finally be able to do a weekend away for our anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Firstly we were upgraded to the Foundry at the Drake and that was amazing so we didn't need to walk to dinner and being by the water was fantastic. We then had an anniversary surprise in our room and that added to our stay. The room was excellent, so very clean, welcoming staff, and most of all we felt safe and well taken care of. The texting option was amazing and breakfast was a total but welcomed surprise. Can't say enough about it and I am telling all my friends as we speak.

I had the most comfortable stay at the Drake Devonshire this past month. Went during the work-week to force myself not to do any work, and I was glad of it. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the décor of my room was charming: with a calming scent, sound of the waves, and loads of light. The staff were very friendly, polite and responsive. I loved that when asked for tea, they brought an full tea-pot right to my door (touchless service, as part of their COVID protocols). The guests seemed to be respectful of the noise and COVID protocols, so it was quiet at night and no issues with mask-wearing or hand sanitizing. Made it less stressful when navigating the common areas. The blanket and s'mores kit, writing kit (with Kinsip hand sanitizer), and complimentary bottle of house wine were also nice touches. (I only wonder why they don't use Canadian made toiletries...) Combined, I was so relaxed when I left, I'm already thinking of my next stay.
