We recently had a fall wedding at The Cove in in Westport. From preparations to the day of the wedding, to the morning after, Maureen and the staff at The Cove Inn left nothing else to be desired for our family and guests. This venue was everything we had imagined it could be and more. We had been guests at The Cove Inn for weekend getaways, and day trips for lunch and dinner. The staff never disappoints. Also if you love live music, this is the place to be, as a fan or a musician you are in for a treat. Many of my friends have played gigs there. Something I hope to do some day myself.

We were so excited to book at this place but what a disappointed when we booked in. Our room though quaint and furnished to look historical, was not as expected. There was no TV or clock or radio. And NO closet, just hooks on the wall ! There was no where to sit comfortable inside the room to read or have a snack. Only one antique model chair, not suitable for 2 people. The original flooring was VERY squeaky to walk on at night when all was quiet. The washroom needs updated, no hair dryers ! We stayed for 2 nights and even though no where in the whole establishment did we see any Covid enhancement signs, our room/bathroom was not sanitized for the 2nd night, the excuse being Covid?? We had to ask for fresh supplies for the next day. This establishment shows very well if you are looking for quaint and old European style and only want a place to sleep for one evening. I would not recommend for family or long visit. There is a lounge and bar which has a lovely outdoor patio which is promoted for your entertainment but, sometime it is not what a visitors want. Needs upgraded, the few rooms that have a TV are listed for a higher price . Should be told on reservation WHAT IS NOT included with your stay. On a positive note they do leave a nice basket in fridge with a continental breakfast and enough keruig cups for 2 coffees. The front porch is nice to sit on but we do not pay to sit on the porch, we want to be able to relax in our rooms. Bottom line, cute, quaint but needs a updating.…

We absolutely loved our experience at The Cove. Best place for a girls’ weekend to celebrate our sister’s 50th birthday that we put off for 2 years due to Covid. The rooms are bright and clean. The food is absolutely delicious. It’s hard to decide on what to eat. The view and the grounds are beautiful, overlooking the water and Foley Mountain. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Mo is a fabulous event planner with years of experience and a natural ability to think of everything. We had a lot of fun with the music of the band East Coast Experience. Seamus, Mary and Terry and their staff have built a top notch destination in the beautiful town of Westport. We look forward to our next get together at The Cove. Thank you all so much!!

Love this place for many reasons!! We have been to The Cove restaurant several times over the years and have always loved their food. This past weekend we stayed at the hotel inn for a wedding. Wow was the outdoor venue for the ceremony beautiful! I wish I got married here!!! The hotel is great. Our room was perfect for me my husband and 1 year old. Comfy bed, large room with a lovely view of the water. The AC worked great too which is nice since we like to sleep with the AC super cold. The staff are also wonderful. So friendly and easygoing and even remembered my daughters name over the weekend. I will definitely be staying at The Cove inn again and would recommend it to anyone staying in Westport

We stopped in for lunch. As always the service was amazing. The Cove keeps the country in country Inn. I enjoyed a Mango Chicken Wrap and my husband had a Chicken Cruncher. The food was delicious. The patio was open and the views of the grounds and Foley Mountain were beautiful. Well worth a stop in or a specific trip to enjoy the menu. There is also the option to stay over.

We attended the show featuring Suzie Vinnick and Ray Fines. The show was awesome and the Cove followed covid protocols. There were 4 delicious meal choices- 2 of us had the chicken and 1 had the salmon. Both were very good and service was great. I look forward to my next visit.

Beautiful homey place to stay. Very clean and inviting. No television. Wifi was a bit spotty. Tried to watch a movie at bedtime on iPad, but, would not connect. But, it was ok. Bed was amazingly comfortable to sleep.

In July of 2020 and despite Covid 19, we set out to explore the middle/lower Rideau Lakes with our boat and needed a base for three days. We chose the Cove Inn because of its outward charm and appeal and because it included a launch and slip for our boat. It turned out to be the perfect choice! ALL safety precautions were were strictly followed and ALL staff members were cheerful, helpful and very warm, despite the restrictions. The Inn has a long history which is evident at every turn. Indeed, the building alone is enough to satisfy the need for accommodation that is worthy of the historic Waterway itself. It is a beautiful old hotel from the 1800's that has been lovingly restored into a warm and welcoming haven. If you need super modern accommodations, look elsewhere. If you want warmth and authenticity, this is it. Our boat was easily launched and safely docked at the Inn's own wharf directly in front of the Inn and we loved our room which overlooked the lake. Covid certainly posed some restrictions, but the lunch and dinner meals which we could have on the verandahs were excellent. AND live music is offered on the lovely back patio almost every evening. The best part was meeting the owner, Mary and manager, Seamus (mother and son) , both incredibly friendly and helpful. We appreciated their devotion to their beautiful inn and to their guests. The Cove is the best little music venue in all of Eastern Ontario. Even when the Province is draped with snow, the live music continues. The Cove is host to the Blues on the Rideau series, a world class showcase for blues artists. This once a month dinner and show from September to May is not to be missed. The music continues all year long featuring different genres of music, Irish traditional, country, pop, folk, blues and jazz. In the off season The Cove hosts special events such as wine pairings with gourmet meals allowing the chefs an opportunity to really show off their talent. The Cove is our go to for fun, food and music all year long. The owners and staff are lovely and treat every patron as if they were family. During the time of Covid we have felt so protected by every action taken, masks on servers, distancing in place, constant disinfecting and cleaning is obvious.
