I have never written a review before, but this motel was so disgusting that I had to. The bathroom was dirty, dead mosquitos on the walls with blood, and an UNCHANGED BED!! Our bed was clearly not changed (dirty and full of sand) so the owner dropped off sheets for us to CHANGE IT OURSELVES! We paid over 200$ per night and had to change our bed ourselves! They never even collected the dirty bedding during our entire stay! There is an air conditioner in there which we couldn't use either because of how bad the air coming out of it smelled. The dirtiness of the room was not even the worst of it!! The owner punched a guest in the face and the police came!! Numerous people from the area stated that the police are there multiple times a week. I don't understand how he gets away with it! Apparently, the day before he was angry at a guest and flipped the BBQ he was using! I was scared of the owner (we have children) so we slept with the chair against the door. This place is DIRTY and the owner has MAJOR ISSUES. I would not go to PEI if this was the only option.…
We stayed at the property with our family. Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable and the grounds well kept. The pool was not working and while there was no sign indicating « working hours » for the hot tub, the owner shut it down around 9 pm. Our experience with the owner was troublesome. Agressive behaviour and unnecessary confrontations with several patrons. Some in front of children. I would not recommend due to his lack of ability to handle situations which can really ruin a vacation.
When we booked, their site mentioned breakfast and housekeeping was included. When we arrived the woman at the front desk mentioned that due to social distancing breakfast wasn't included, our room would not be cleaned and if we had garbage to let them know. When I complained, she said had I called the hotel they would have told me. I booked online, so not sure I undertand! I'd also suggest getting a room without a jacuzzi tub, unless you want to hear your neighbors running theirs a 11:00 p.m. - the walls are paper thin. If you have sensitivy to smell, these rooms are not for you, as they sprayed an air freshner in the room that caused me headaches for the 4 nights we were there. I would have changed hotels, but they have a no cancellation policy and all other hotels were fully booked, given my travel dates. I honestly think they didn't have enough staff so they blamed the lack of services on needing to social distance.…
We stayed here as part of a tour. The room was clean and comfortable. Did have issues with the TV not working correctly. Some of the staff did not seem to know how to resolve the issue. Breakfast was continental style with cereal, hot and cold and toast.
Was booked with this hotel through a tour co. The rooms were amazing, lots of room, comfortable beds, clean, updated. If a continental breakfast is included with regular room reservations it was ok at best.
This lovely little get away was wonderful including the great and interesting breakfast items on the breakfast menu served by local workers there. It was like being in a quaint little town in a far away place but had all the amenities one could ask for. The rooms were clean and updated and the TV worked wonderfully. The views were of natural things, not like a parking lot or something with blacktop. There was an indoor pool but I didnt have a chance to see it or use it. There was also a laundry facility small but functioning. This was a lovely place.
I really liked this hotel because it felt so homey and comfortable. I liked it because it was not a mediocre chain hotel. I was part of a Caravan tour, and like some of the other comments, the breakfast/lunch could have been a little better. For me, breakfast was very adequate because I like hard-cooked eggs and yogurt. There were plenty of carbs, and the fruit was probably from a can. This hotel just felt good. It is clean, nice and helpful staff, and in a nice location. I think PEI is rather remote, and this hotel fits that feeling so well. I highly recommend staying at the North Winds Inn.
We arrived a bit early but our room was ready. The room was excellent. Very clean, new and spacious, Ample parking (drive up). The staff welcomed us and were very pleasant and helpful. The location is very close to Brackleybeaches and 15 minutes from Charlottetown Everything was great. I would certainly stay here again and have no qualms about recommending it to others
It was extreme conditions during Hurricane Dorian...I get that. However, the generator never came on (if there was one) and the owner never came out to apologize to our tour group. No electric. No water. Staff was great in trying to make us comfortable. Owner has a lot to learn about business...
Had an elephant checked in above us around 11pm. Didn’t sleep most of the night. Floors are thin and hollow, can hear voices and footsteps. Breakfast consisted of stale bagels, toast, cereal, or other basics including a hard boiled egg. Yuck. We should have just slept in our rental car. Front desk kid was nice. Good service. Not worth the $160. Definitely not a 4 star motel, sorry.
