I stay here a few times throughout the summer into the fall. I have a large tent that I put on a site with water and electricity, I always seem to get my spot (uncanny) because it's beautiful ....I'm not giving you the number of my spot LOL. The canteen has ice, firewood and everything you should need. The staff is very friendly and security is awesome. The washrooms are super clean as so their showers. Lots to do, take a canoe if you have one. I can burn wood till the early morning hours which is a bonus for me because I'm a night owl, I was told as long as I keep an eye on it that it was fine. Never have I heard any partying past the recommended {keep it quiet time) and even before that. great place for family and couples. I can't say enough about the staff, they are really awesome. Great place to camp and even though I had my Deep Woods Off I rarely used it. I'll be there again this summer so I'll see you there maybe.

First of all the rv park is an excellent location and within 1o minute drive to the capital. There is a great bay right near the park. The staff are a wonderful group to deal with for your small problems. That's where the good points end. We were given a site that was not near any other campsite and put on a site that was not level and was filled with mosquitos even though the person who took us there said that they hoped we had lots of mosquito protection. It was in thee middle of a very large wooded area so the bugs would be all around us. However there was plenty of other sites that were in an excellent location without the mosquitos. To make things even worse the electrical plugs and only the standared three prong plugs as everyone know there should be the rv electrical plugs even though there were several dozen such plugs available After all the bug and electrical problems we will never return to this campsite

Hello, I am sorry to hear your stay with us in 2015 was disappointing. Since the New Owner took over the park has undergone a great transformation since your last stay. We now have extra security staff and are now a great family oriented park. The wooded area is tenting only sites unless requested by a camper. We now offer more Children/Family activities, hired new/more staff, installed a new furnace for the pool, updated the front bathroom/ laundry room and installed a new basketball court. We hope you will reconsider stay with us again in the future.

First, the location is great. Close to beaches. The park is a good one for families. There is a lovely pool and playground. There seem to be organized activities for children but also adults. Staff were fabulous.
The sites are grassy which was nice. We were in a 32' motorhome pulling a vehicle. The pull throughs were a little confusing and SO VERY CLOSE together. We could not use our awning. The sewage doesn't not have a proper connection so it was smelly. We wouldn't have wanted to eat at the picnic table as it was about 3' from the sewage hookup of the trailer next to us. The smell was awful.
There are 2 laundry rooms available at the park. One was not busy but had very old machines although they did work fine.
There are some lovely sites near the water unfortunately, this wasn't where we were.
The park is quite big and nice to walk. There are mostly seasonal campers here as is the case of most campgrounds now.

We had a great time camping at Vacationland. We are from Australia and were visiting family in Montreal for 6 months, we purchased a travel trailer and headed to PEI and loved this spot. We met so many lovely people who have permanent sites and the kids loved the pool. The facilities and location is great. Just don';t forget to bring bug spray, the Mosquitoes and black flies were bad in August.

Vacationland is a large beautiful park with mostly seasonal trailers. Unfortunately it has no WiFI except for at the main office. Most of the lots are shaded by trees. We stayed in what is called Centre Field on the long weekend at the first of August for 5 days. The lots are small and tight with the roads in the area very narrow mostly one way. Even with our 21’ Roo and SUV it was hard to get into a spot but the staff were very helpful in this aspect guiding me to the site and helping me park. There are no lighting fixtures along these roads making it difficult to walk without a flashlight.

The bathroom area near Centre Field has been apparently redone by new management in 2015. The end result is a clean neat bathroom. The coin operated showers are gone. There is no temperature control in the showers but water is not hot enough to burn. The cleaning lady will come in and clean regardless of if you are in it or not but for me that is not an issue. I found it strange there were only two dryers for four washers and had to wait to dry my clothes. The coin inserts on the dryers indicated $1.25 for a wash but it was actually $2.00, not clearly marked and I had to make a trip to the trailer for more change.

We had issues with noise here most nights except the weekdays. Our first night on Friday went fairly well. Saturday night more trailers piled in and several rows down from us (thankfully) there was a huge multi trailer party going on that started at 7pm. Country music was blaring and thankfully the music died down at about 10:30 though not all the noise. The were other campers including seasonal that were drunk and loud until about 12:30pm. This is quite contrary to the Campground Rules that you receive upon entering and I quote: “Quiet time is 11:00pm to 8:00am. Stereos are to kept at a minimum volume (determined by our staff) at all times and completely off at 11:00pm."

I don’t write this as a tee totaler and enjoy drinks at my own site. It’s just that after 5 years of so of camping every summer at various sites I’ve never seen the likes of this. There are other previews the note the same problem.

I think if you visit during the week or off peak times you might be okay. I though will never be back. I never had any of these issues at Marco Polo Land or KOA Cavendish.

First off, the campground is nice, and kept clean. But that's the only positive thing I have to say.

I booked two tent sites, they were small and full of roots. The bathrooms are clean, but the showers are cold, and take quarters ( no biggie if they would have told us when we booked ). The pool was closed for a day and half for no reason, and the staff wasn't overly helpful, and the owner is down right rude and won't admit to their staffs mistakes.

They charged my credit card two deposits, at 51.50 instead of 39.00. Charged me for an extra person. And instead of charging me for tenting site which I asked for I was charged for an RV site. Which for 3 nights was an additional 87.00

The owner refused to give me back my over charge for the site, or deposit. But she did credit my card for the extra person charge.

Not worth my money, will never return.

We arrived at 1:30 at the campground at started to set up our fifth wheel, it wasn't long before I noticed a really strong smell coming from our trailer. Some quick investigating and realizing that the smell was indeed coming from our trailer. we tried a few things to remedy this issue but realizing that we were causing a stink (literally) in the community and we were upwind from their pool and wet slide. We decided to vacate, take down the trailer and pack up and head home and deal with the issue there I'm sure everyone around us appreciated that. We talked to a couple of the girls working the counter and they told us that they couldn't do the refund but didn't think there would be an issue given the circumstances. A staff personnel on site also reflected that sentiment as well.
Needless to say, we were only offered a 1-day refund being told our policy is not to give any refund with less than 72 hrs. notice. Good to know next time ,,,, never mind their won't be a next time so much for being courteous!

Hello Mr. Niceguy! It was very considerate of you to take into consideration of others surrounding your trailer. I do sympathize over the disappoint of your issues with your trailer and not being able to finish your weekend with us. However, It is our policy that a refund can only be given with 72 hrs notice which is on our website and in the confirmation email you received when you put a deposit on site. When speaking with you, I did make an exception due to the issues with your trailer (which was no fault of the park or service you received while here) and gave you a refund for the 1 day out of your 2-day stay. Again, I am very sorry that you were unsatisfied with your experience and hope you will reconsider staying with us in the future.

I often think to write a review and have good intentions of doing so but I must say that this is only the 1st or 2nd I have ever written. I felt compelled to write this one because of the amazing experience we had! This Campground was one of the best I have ever been to. I have camped throughout BC, Ontario and Nova Scotia and all my years of travel never come across such a well run, accommodating place as Vacationland. The grounds are wonderful and so close to the beautiful PEI beaches! We enjoyed ourselves so much we are travelling back again this weekend from NS. I highly recommend camping here!

Just want to give a shout out for the maintenance man on site - Richard. When we were leaving the park we had a problem with our pop-up. I asked him if he could help with a couple of tools and he took the time to help me fix the problem. His competence and kindness were very much appreciated. Thanks Richard!
