Do not stay here! Bad old musty smell in the rooms. Strong disinfectant smell around the building. Staff had no knowledge of sites to see, places to visit or restaurants. No luggage carts or luggage racks in room. Suitcases on the floor. One small table in the room and a television. The beds are about 30 to 40 years old and hard and flat. We stayed 2 nights and that was too long. Price was over $200.00 a night with tax.
New owners took over this motel. I know because I have stayed here at least 5 times now with my children. I just came back this time from the worst experience ever. HEED my warning! DO NOT STAY HERE. The new owners did not maintain this building. Our room 117 had NO HOT water the entire time. We were barely able to get showers. I mean it was FREEZING. The floors were so dirty our feet turned black - we had to get slippers so our feet wouldn't be turning black. NO wifi. No supplies. We had to buy our own dish soap so we could do our dishes! We had to buy pans so we could cook. We had NO dish towels, NO dish clothes, NO oven mitts. We had to ask for all these because I did not want to pay for more supplies. We finally got it but we had already taken the pans out with our towels. The oven is propane stove and it is unhealthy because you can smell propane all through the place whenever you are cooking. The BBQ outside is disgusting and barely works. The air conditioner is so dirty we all came home sick. The cleaners would barely give us clean towels - unless we asked, and even then wouldn't arrive until 7-8pm after my children were already settled for the night. My sister was in room 9 and found RAT POOP in her utensil drawer and blood on the bed sheets!! This was the WORST stay of my life and I will never stay here again - which is a shame because we stayed here every time mainly due to the location. The new owners also upped the prices as well. So for $800 - I could have stayed in a really nice cottage a little further away - which rest assured I WILL BE after this stay! Oh... and I should note. I complained every day about the things that were happening and nothing was being done. My children had to take ONE cold shower while we were away for 5 days. They went to bed dirty and sandy because we had no hot water or clean towels. We complained during check out and they gave us a pathetic 10% off - claiming they already gave me a 10% discount at the beginning. Big deal. Cottages 10 minutes away charged WAY less and were much cleaner and less problems. NEVER STAY HERE. You will regret it. The only thing good about this place is the location. But that's not enough to convince me to return. Too bad the owners are running this place to the ground!…
Cavendish is a fun village on PEI, close to national park, beautiful miles long beaches, fun parks, best sea food, shops and different light houses. We love the place and every body got a "Wow!!!" when we stepped in the suite room at Silverwood motel. The room is super big and clean, with full kitchen and a backdoor to BBQ and an outdoor pool. The owner is quite knowledgeable and friendly, gave us lots of advises, helped us find the best places to see and the best restaurants as well. We even bought a fresh lobster and cooked in our room, that is amazing tasty. We spent two relaxing fun days there after a challenging week at Cape Breton. The quality and the price of the stay is unbeatable good (accommodation and sea food). We will definitely come back and stay longer and recommend this hotel to friends. The only problem is dogs are not allowed on national park beaches in summer months, so we found some beautiful and quiet hidden beaches and light houses.…
Worth it for the price! Staff was very friendly and had our room prepared an hour earlier than regular check-in time. Close to all the attractions like baordwalk, sandspit, Avonlea, etc. Quiet at night. Hot water and tons of channels on the TV.
We have stayed here in the past and really enjoyed our stay before. The rooms were older but well kept and very clean. Not so much this trip...found the room not clean(test strip from glucose monitor still on the floor) left in the morning to go out for breakfast and a drive ...when we came back around 3pm the room hadn't been cleaned or bed made. When I went to the office I was told the cleaner wasn't in and she forgot to do it. When we came back a second time, the bed was made and the dirty towels taken but the bathroom still not clean ( hair on the counter and sink) to say the least we won't be back.
This a great place to stay. Reception was very warm and friendly. The room was spacious and super clean. Everything you would need for a relaxing good nights rest. Quiet and comfortable. We would return here for sure. Great value.
We stay at the Silverwood every year but will be switching stays. For those of you who also stay every year, you should note that breakfast is no longer served. We were very disappointed to hear this as the new cooking facilities are also very minimal when compared to the older style rooms. The upgraded rooms only have a hotplate. For those who try to save money by cooking when travelling , there are two bbqs. Also of note, the towels have tags which say do not bleach. I found the tags when trying to figure why there were stains on my towel. While they look clean, I’ve never stayed somewhere that didn’t bleach their towels and it’s somewhat gross in my opinion. The beds, while motel quality, are definitely not hotel quality. I was sore when I woke up. I find the off season rates accurate but the tourist season rates high for the quality.…
Stayed here for 1 night. Great location and price. The two girls working the front desk during our stay were friendly and helpful. The Motel is rather quaint. Market right across the road and a restaurant next door. Pool was nice too. Great place for a family to stay as it's close to all the attractions. I may be wrong but I believe this is a seasonal Motel so there are a few hiccups but who watches TV on a beautiful summer evening.
We come here a lot with our family for vacation, we are from the maritimes and this small getaway is perfect for an inexpensive trip. Our family can fit in a two double bed room and we stay for the weekend. the breakfast is nice and options are great, love that you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. They do need more seating inside though. The pool was not opened when we went but im sure its now opened and lovely. The playground was nice for the kids to play at and bbqs were perfect for dinner. This motel is right smack dab in the middle of Cavendish, right next door to the water park and a 4 minute drive to both the beach and the boardwalk. Perfect getaway spot, if staying longer then the weekend I would recommend getting one fo the larger places but the small rooms are just fine since you are barely in them for long anyways.…
Stayed here for 2 nights. Great location and reasonably priced. Clean rooms. All day coffee and tea in the main office was a great surprise. Daughter said the wifi was good! Staff were very accommodating... first room we had there was an issue with the stove and we were quickly moved to another room. BBQs and picnic tables available onsite and a great area for kids to play... we didn’t use this area or the bbqs but others were. Free breakfast was wonderful.... lots to choose from. My only issue was the lack of a lock or chain lock on the room side of the door... the only lock was the actual doorknob lock.
