At the end of our vacation our best memories were of our stay here. Nondescript from the outside, the cabin was warm wood with many flourishes inside and we wanted for nothing there, it was so well stocked. Out back you have the fields and cattle; from your front deck, the main farm is across the road with the Park road below and the sea beyond. Crossing the road, like the cattle do, you can wind past the barns to a lane that crosses the lower road to an entrance to McNeills' Beach. That is only minutes away if you aren't distracted. When we were there, the skies were blue, the temp mild and the waves crashing dramatically after the passing of an offshore hurricane. This left a lot of interesting deposits on the beach, mostly broken lobster traps. We mostly had this beautiful beach to ourselves (TU covid) and we would stay there til the light faded and be able to return to the cottage in ample time to enjoy the dusk from our deck. In spite of being between Cavendish and North Rustico, we were only minutes from all we needed. The rose hedge out front gave privacy to our little cottage with all of its attention to detail and the combo of being in a pasture with a view to the sea were perfect.…
Excellent place to spend a holiday with access to beach and lots of room to walk. Eleanor and family make you feel very welcome. We come back every year and enjoy it so much. Very clean too. Love the farm atmosphere.
We were in a cottage for a week, largely a drizzly, cool week--far from beach weather I am accustomed to in June. However, being at the farm made it a wonderful week. The kids were able to play on the swings often, and all of us enjoyed the short walk to the beach many times. Even with other families in next door cottages, we felt we had plenty of privacy to enjoy the front porch desk or the swingsets. We were welcomed to visit the barns and see the cows, pet the farm dog, and enjoy the cats at a distance--they weren't particularly chummy. The farm hands were friendly and informative and the kids were thrilled to get to sit in the big tractors. The cottage was well-supplied, and if you can't find something, just ask. You will need a car; this is not a location with a convenience store on the next corner.…
We spent three nights in one of the cottages at Parkview Farm and loved it. The uninvited guest was Hurricane Dorian who put a damper on our traveling around PEI. Eleanor and Alvin were so nice and accommodating during the storm - we appreciated their kindness and hospitality so very much. We’d love to come back and spend some more time at Parkview Farm - you know you’re in a good place when your fellow visitors have been coming for 20+ years!
We couldn’t be happier with this vacation. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage across the road from the farm. Cottage was very clean and roomy with ac, front porch and view of the water past the field of cows. When I peeked in the barn to see if we could go in they were milking and invited us to come see. The staff are extremely welcoming and obviously love having visitors, especially kids. They are very kind people and easy to spend tome with. Other guests said they were annual visitors and I can see why. Two calves were born during our two night stay which was very exciting for my daughters. They also had new little kittens, friendly cats and a dog named Abby. They guests were encouraged to pet and play with all of them. Milking was at 5:30am and 4pm everyday and guests are more than welcome in the barn. We didn’t access the beach but heard good things about it. The tourist part of Cavendish with the boardwalk, sandspit and shining waters is only a two minute drive from the farm.…
Great experience for our family to stay on a dairy farm. Watched the milking, explored the barn, played with the cats. Owners very friendly and welcoming. Great location, close to beach. Cottages themselves are lovely if a bit rustic, but suited us perfectly. Two bedrooms, nice sitting area, spacious kitchen. Beautiful ocean view. Memorable.
Our family has been staying in these cottages every summer for over twenty years, it is our favourite vacation spot. It is situated right by the ocean with a private access trail down to the beach (about a 3 minute walk). The cottage owners (who are the kindest family that we enjoy catching up with/visiting evey year ) also own the working dairy farm which is right beside the cottages, and they allow you to visit the cows, attend the milkings in the barn, and allow you to feed the baby calves. The farmers are always welcoming and pleased to interact with vacationers and love educating and chatting about their jobs and the cows. It is the most scenic and relaxing place on the island that we have ever found, and staying here is always the highlight of our year.
I cannot begin to put into words how wonderful Eleanor and Alvin are, and how beautiful Parkview Farm Tourist Home and Cottages was. We are retirees and celebrating our 25th anniversary week/vacation and it was the MOST memorable in all that time. We have been to PEI a few times previously and this was by far the best ever. Had a lovely, clean cottage with everything you could think of for accommodations, as well as a beautiful view of the ocean. We grilled some meals, got recommendations from Eleanor and Alvin on where to go, and ended up having some great dining experiences. The cows out back of our cottage and those across the street were so much fun to watch. We sat on our spacious deck, read our books, enjoyed the great sunny weather, walked on some beaches, went shopping and just relaxed. Fantastic people, amazing views and weather and HIGHLY recommended to all. The price was great and the accommodations were more than we could ever have expected! Thank you so much Eleanor and Alvin for your kindness and graciousness. The property is so well taken care of also. They have such pride in their Farm and Tourist Home and it definitely shows!…
The cottage for spotless and perfect for our stay. It is a short walk to the beach. Eleanor and Alvin are always accommodating. Our family has been coming for years and so many great memories here. The is also a perfect view of the ocean from the cottages. Teresa
Such lovely people that run this farm. Lots of things to do and see but in such a pristine and peaceful location. Lots of animals all around from the cows to the cats and some wildlife too. Beautiful scenery and the sunset is not to be missed!
