We had a great weekend at the campground. It was really busy with the music festival going on but all our needs were meet . Lots of security around if you had any issues and they provided a bus service to the grounds The bus service was not as good as previous years as there was not as many . Lots of cabs at the front if you needed one . Front desk always willing to help the couple times we required assistance . Great pool so you could cool off as it was a hot weekend. We will be back

Nice location located centrally on the island on the north shore also known as the Green Gables shore. Great home base for day trips around the island. Shaw’s beach located in PEI National Park is very close . Beautiful big sand beach.

Many of the sites are wooded and have a nice buffer to your neighbors. We were in section D. Check with the campground when you make a reservation. Some hookups only available in certain sections (see pictures for campground map)

There is a little shopping area located right in front of the campground- souvenirs, local ware, treats, etc.

The campground overall is nice but there are a number of areas that need attention and upkeep. Our electric hookup box was falling apart.

Staff were excellent. Campground was quiet and the camping area for tents were huge. Accommodated two tents and two cars with ease. Sites were well treed and private. Heated pool and the Rrecreation Center bY the pool was great for kids and adults if raining. They had arcade amusement games and a ping pong table as well as snacks for sale. Firewood was $7.50 a bundle. Large playground and a mini golf area for $1.25.
Had to put a deposit of $20 for your gate pass. Very close to the Cavendish Boardwalk with lots of restaurants and shops including a Cows ice cream and Beavertails. You are also close to Cavendish Beach.
Cost was $370 for 5 night for two tents for two couples in one site. Park was very clean as well. Washrooms were clean and included free showers.

If you intend to travel via taxi's or limo's while on the island, be aware that this campground will not allow your transportation provider to pull into the campground or the boardwalk area to pick you up. They claim that all transportation providers must first contact this business to obtain permission to perform pickups/dropoffs. Totally ridiculous!!!

We stayed at Sunset for the first time and were thoroughly pleased with our experience! We tented in the C loop and would definitely go back. Washrooms were very clean, fun entertainment at night, within walking distance to Cavendish Boardwalk, etc.etc. Lively but respectful atmosphere. Thanks Sunset!

We have stayed at Sunset for many years and this year was better than ever. They have excellent Covid protocols in place and we felt very safe. The rec centre has lots of activities, the pool was warm and clean, the playground is amazing...we loved the new stage and live entertainment, my kids played chocolate bar bingo and watched the night time movie. Other than some rowdiness one night (which security tended to right away), it was quiet and peaceful. C loop has huge, wooded sites. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a private wooden tent site, then this site is for you. If you are looking for old gross out dated washrooms, then this site is for you as well. If you are tenting, I would recommend NOT staying in D loop. Road was completely overrun with brush. Driving through with a half ton truck, you are surely to scratch your vehicle. I would suggest a semi open wooden lot for tents. Washrooms were a lot nicer. We only stayed for 3 nights. Was suppose to be for 5. The noise was out of control. Quiet time was 11 pm. Parties did not stop until well past 3 am. Had people sneaking around our camp site at 3 am, looking to steal stuff. No "security" on site. Place is way over priced.

Spent 5 nights at this campground. Treed site we had was all dirt. They do an all summer gem hunt where you look for hidden gems and cash them in for freezies. My 4 boys spent 2 days scouring the campground for gems enough to give them each 2 freezies. To their disappointment they never had any...even after complaining at the main office (ran by 2 teenagers) and being promsed the next day they would have some they did not.

Another activity was 50 cent ice cream..... The teenager running this event showed up with two 1.5l containers of melted maple and neopolitan ice cream....what kid eats maple ice cream!?!?

Last night was free marshmallows and hot dog bonfire... Again the teenager running this one shows up with 3 bags of stale marshmallows, 2 packs of wieners and 8 hotdog buns!

Overall for 48 bucks a night not very impressive!

Kids had fun in the pool and at the tennis courts etc and the weather was fantastic. Just wouldn't choose this campground again.

We recently stayed at this campground and were really looking forward to this adventure. We were booked in for 2 nights, but packed up and left after the first night. We had a terrible site for our trailer, it was rocky, no grass and small. They advertised an arcade and they only had 2 games. The pool was also a disappointment. The sign said open from 10:30am until dusk. We arrived as a family to swim at 6pm, to a locked gate. When we asked why the pool was closed, they replied it closed at 6pm, dusk is not 6pm. The kids were extremely disappointed. They also advertised the pool as heated, but it wasn't. Their customer service is also poor, no greeting customers with a smile or how may I help you. They ask, what do you want?
We couldn't wait to check out early. The only good thing about the campground was their washrooms, they were clean. We will not be returning to camp there again.

We have stayed at this campground in the tenting wooded area for many years. However in the last few years it has gone downhill. I believe it is under new management.
I am so disappointed with the reviews saying how their reserved site numbers were changed and didn't know about it until arrival. I had previously found the reserved site option something you could count on. Very unsettling to hear.
The roadways are a mess with deep gutted holes, the brush doesn't seem to ever be cut back.
The washrooms in the wooded loops area are terrible and need to be redone. I noticed the seasonal areas both have newer washrooms. Perhaps that is what the new owner actually wants and caters to.
I use to love this campground for it's private wooded sites but the negatives have become too many. This year I will look somewhere else.
