We stayed here in August for one night, was supposed to be 2, but had to rush home. The room was ok, easy check in. The parking where we were at end left was very difficult to get out of and people were knocking on door to move cars etc. Other than that, was ok. We liked the fact that they have BBQ's on site...we would have liked to use them. Pool was great for kids!

Cavendish is a small and popular place to visit. Most of the accommodations in the area are booked ahead. Don't expect the RITZ. Good location to attractions in the area. Pool and BBQ area is provided but we didn't use them. Right next to Tim Horton's.

We booked this room in advance thinking it would be nice to spend a night
in Cavendish before we had a family event the next morning in Charlottetown.
The lady and man at the front desk were very friendly. Inside the room it was
your basic motel room, had a tv and a bed and a mini fridge which was really great.
We went in the off season when the rates are a little cheaper then the high season.
But then again no matter where you go in PEI in the summer the rates are always
a little more expensive. WIFI was great I could use my Itouch and check my emails.
The pool looked wonderful but we did not have enough
engery to check it out by the time we got back. We went and drove along the
Coast and saw the Ocean it was awesome. This is close to restraunts and the board
walk in Cavendsih. I usualy stay at hotels that cost alot more then what I paided,
but Ive stayed at alot of Motels too and I would have to say this is the best
Motel ive stayed at and Ive been to alot :) Hope we can come back next summer.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We were supposed to stay here July 17-21st. Room 1. We managed to only stay one night. We were waiting at reception as soon as they opened on the 18th with a bag of bugs, asking for a refund, because there was no way we were staying one more second there. We knew it was an older place and we could tell from the pictures the decor has not been updated since the 80’s. Which was fine. What we didn’t expect were the roommates (large creepy crawly bugs) pouring out of our wall, under the window and wall heater, all night. We were up very late trying to kill them but they were fast and would scurry under our bed or back into the wall. My husband was able to kill about 7-8 of them. We didn’t want to alarm our children, one is on the spectrum, but when we went in their room the next morning we found bugs in there as well. Talk about a sleepless night. Also, when we arrived all the windows were open but they had the air cranked at 16. We are assuming now maybe they had sprayed it a few days before our arrival. Our neighbours said it was odd because they wouldn’t let anyone rent that room the whole time they were there. Also, the ad said full kitchen. We had one plate, 3 saucers, a bowl, 4 forks and two spoons. Hard to feed a family of 4 with that. Yes they have BBQ’s but the rooms do not have any BBQ utensils nor does the front desk. There are many other really nice cottages available just on the outskirts of town that cost the same or less than this bug infested motel. Also we asked for a refund for 3/4 nights since we did stay the one night. The owner, guess he lives in Toronto, originally refused a refund, but then ripped us off a night by only giving us two nights back. If you want to go further the fridge was disgusting with stains and rust marks all on the back and they were also in violation of the fire code without a working fire alarm in one of the bedrooms. I don’t think I have ever given a bad review before. But this motel was horrible. Please do your family a favour and book somewhere else. As soon as we left we went to the Visitor’s Centre and the amazing ladies there called around and found us a great, clean, well stocked cottage with “Best View” in North Rustico.

We booked a "deluxe two bedroom apartment" for a week. The only thing deluxe about it was the price. It smelled so bad we couldn't stay for more than a few minutes. Unlike the photos on the website, the furniture was old and shabby. The bed was a joke, sunken in the middle. The bedroom was dirty. There was no way we could stay there. Asked for a refund but the manager absolutely refused, we were offered another room which was a bit better but it had stairs up to the door and I can't do stairs because of a disability. At this point, we couldn't get away from this place fast enough. We called and sent an email to the manager and spoke to an employee at the motel asking for a refund, but the manager will not respond. Therefore, we're out a lot of money for nothing. Very poor customer service. Be aware before you book.

We stayed here 11 years ago in a two bedroom apartment and loved it. We came back in 2023 and stayed in a one bedroom apartment and it was terrible! The property has gone down hill (not sure if there are new owners). Very little had been updated since our last stay. It was dirty, there were earwigs and other bugs found in the room, the air conditioner needed to be serviced, the view from our back window was disgusting, the blankets looked like they were eaten by moths, the towels were stained and overall dinginess of the room. We couldn’t wait to leave. We would have left early but they demanded full payment at time of checkin. Never again!! The only positive thing about the Anne Shirley is that it is very close to all of the attractions.

While the place was clean and served it’s purpose, the pool was supposed to be open by the time we got here and jt wasn’t , and also the wifi either doesn’t work, or is too hard to get working to bother with. Called front desk for help 4 times myself and my gf said she did 2 times the night before to no avail. Would have been nice to know the wifi was out and the pool still wasn’t operational with bringing kids and their iPads here !

This was the last available room in Cavendish. Room was okay but carrying suitcases up this staircase was a concern. Anne Shirley is located right next to Tim Hortons. The beaches of PEI is te reason to visit. Book early so you don’t have to book a second floor room

I booked online to stay here for the Taylor Swift concert on July 10th, 2010. I wanted to get a room quickly because knew they would be filling up. My friend had called me and told me she just booked here for 3 nights so I should try too. I got right on the computer and found a room, booked, filled out all my information and was given a confirmation number. Then I was sent an email confirming my reservation with the confirmation number. A whole week later I was at work and my husband called telling me that the hotel called saying I don't have a room. There was a mistake with the computer and there is no room. I called the lady working there and she said sorry but there is no room. I asked her what do you mean?? She said the computer overbooked. I asked what a confirmation number means. She said they use an outside company to handle thier bookings so it's not her fault. I said yes it is if that's who you use to book your rooms. She said she couldn't build a room onto the hotel so there was nothing she could do. I asked why did it take you a week to get back to me and she said she had none of my information only a name because of the system they use.
I felt totally frustrated with no satisfaction. It's a really poor way to do business. I would not stay here on a bet and I would advise others to stay away as well.

Response from AnneShirleyPei, Manager at Anne Shirley Motel & Cottages
Responded Jul 16, 2010
In response to comments by Neater NS, Mar. 24th, 2010. Her claim that her reservation was canceled is accurate. The company referred to, that we use for reservations, is actually the P. E. I. Government operated on line reservation system. In March the government was upgrading this system. During the transitions, difficulties did occur, which resulted in double bookings, especially during high volume times, eg. Cavendish Beach Music Festival in July. In this particular case, the error occurred in March and the visitor wanted accommodations in July. She had 4 months to make other arrangements. The comment that we lied was completely untrue. Attempts to contact her were initiated as soon as the error was detected in March. Anne Shirley Motel & Cottages.

It is unlikely that you will receive an answer to your question of specific availability of rooms in a hotel as most questions here are answered by fellow travellers. Also this is a seasonal establishment (open May 11-Sept 25 in 2016) It would be best if you either call them at the contact info below Contact (902) 963-2224 (T) (800) 561-4266 (T) or check out their website which also has an email address. Since I cannot post websites here I would suggest you google search Anne Shirley motels and cottages to find it.
