The location is very good for exploring Cavendish on foot, but not as idyllic as you might wish for a PEI stay. The units have an ok standard and are well equiped with kitchenware. The noise from the traffic did not bother us much, but the fridge is very noisy. The unit was also very damp during our rainy week. A park pass was not included.

We stayed here in August for one night, was supposed to be 2, but had to rush home. The room was ok, easy check in. The parking where we were at end left was very difficult to get out of and people were knocking on door to move cars etc. Other than that, was ok. We liked the fact that they have BBQ's on site...we would have liked to use them. Pool was great for kids!

DO NOT STAY HERE! We were supposed to stay here July 17-21st. Room 1. We managed to only stay one night. We were waiting at reception as soon as they opened on the 18th with a bag of bugs, asking for a refund, because there was no way we were staying one more second there. We knew it was an older place and we could tell from the pictures the decor has not been updated since the 80’s. Which was fine. What we didn’t expect were the roommates (large creepy crawly bugs) pouring out of our wall, under the window and wall heater, all night. We were up very late trying to kill them but they were fast and would scurry under our bed or back into the wall. My husband was able to kill about 7-8 of them. We didn’t want to alarm our children, one is on the spectrum, but when we went in their room the next morning we found bugs in there as well. Talk about a sleepless night. Also, when we arrived all the windows were open but they had the air cranked at 16. We are assuming now maybe they had sprayed it a few days before our arrival. Our neighbours said it was odd because they wouldn’t let anyone rent that room the whole time they were there. Also, the ad said full kitchen. We had one plate, 3 saucers, a bowl, 4 forks and two spoons. Hard to feed a family of 4 with that. Yes they have BBQ’s but the rooms do not have any BBQ utensils nor does the front desk. There are many other really nice cottages available just on the outskirts of town that cost the same or less than this bug infested motel. Also we asked for a refund for 3/4 nights since we did stay the one night. The owner, guess he lives in Toronto, originally refused a refund, but then ripped us off a night by only giving us two nights back. If you want to go further the fridge was disgusting with stains and rust marks all on the back and they were also in violation of the fire code without a working fire alarm in one of the bedrooms. I don’t think I have ever given a bad review before. But this motel was horrible. Please do your family a favour and book somewhere else. As soon as we left we went to the Visitor’s Centre and the amazing ladies there called around and found us a great, clean, well stocked cottage with “Best View” in North Rustico.

Earwigs in our bed and bathroom. Extremely unsatisfied. To start, when we checked in the pool was “closed for maintenance” and they said “it might be open tomorrow.” The next evening we were allowed in the pool for about 5 minutes when a health inspector came, tested, and shut it down. Gap under our door for rodents to get in, bathroom door was very dirty, room smelled awful, there was broken glass on the floor when we arrived, the housekeeper had a cigarette hanging out of her mouth while getting us fresh linens. Gavin, the “owner or manager” was very unaccommodating. The staff gave me his number because he wasn’t answering their calls, so when I finally got ahold of him he wouldn’t communicate with the staff to resolve our issues. When I expressed to him that the health inspector said “they just don’t get it” and that there was a lack of chlorine in the pool, he argued and said she was lying.
We were booked for 5 days and only got to use the pool once. I asked for some sort of compensation and Gavin said he had to confirm which days the pool was closed before they could give me a discount (I got 35 bucks back). The office manager seems to have too much of a work load to come out and fix guest issues and told the owner I was being very rude to her when I asked if she could set aside two minutes to come and speak to me and her boss (who I had gotten ahold of on MY phone)
Stairs and railings are not sturdy at all, rotten even.
The location is great, could be a beautiful spot with a little love. A couple of workers here were very kind to us though, kudos to them (especially the gentleman who checked us out Saturday morning). A shame to see this place go downhill.

My friend booked this and admitted she didn't look at the reviews beforehand. When we arrived, the guy at reception had his head on the desk and was sleeping. When we got to the room the 2 beds had different bedding, the air conditioner didn't work, and one plug had a refrigerator, a microwave, the TV, and the cable box plugged into it. The clock between the beds couldn't be plugged in - there was no plug. The place was dingy and old and that's when I started looking at reviews. This place could have definitely used a visit from Hotel Impossible. We went to another place down the road and took a $300 hit for canceling. Be forwarned - do NOT stay here!

We've stayed at the Anne Shirley Motel in previous years, but we haven't been there since 2018 and it's definitely gone downhill since. The rooms were musty and smelly, which you can kind of expect since it's seasonal, but it also looked like it hadn't been cleaned well prior to opening. The water in the sink would fill quickly because the drain was full of gross gunk, the bathroom was full of stains and dirt. Earwigs everywhere, we didn't even leave our bags in the rooms opting instead to keep them all in the car. The pool was decent but the surrounding deck was in desperate need of repairs, had nails sticking out and splintered boards. They also had bags of garbage and debris left out behind the main building, which was right in front of our entrance so definitely not appealing as a guest. When we had stayed here before they offered a park pass for the beach as well as breakfast options like cereal and toast, that wasn't offered this time. Way overpriced for what you get. I would not recommend this place.

We booked a "deluxe two bedroom apartment" for a week. The only thing deluxe about it was the price. It smelled so bad we couldn't stay for more than a few minutes. Unlike the photos on the website, the furniture was old and shabby. The bed was a joke, sunken in the middle. The bedroom was dirty. There was no way we could stay there. Asked for a refund but the manager absolutely refused, we were offered another room which was a bit better but it had stairs up to the door and I can't do stairs because of a disability. At this point, we couldn't get away from this place fast enough. We called and sent an email to the manager and spoke to an employee at the motel asking for a refund, but the manager will not respond. Therefore, we're out a lot of money for nothing. Very poor customer service. Be aware before you book.

An honest review. I’ve been to PEI many times and stayed in a lot of places but this one has to be infested with rats/mice. I didn’t even get to check in before I saw 3. One while I was checking in. Manager “Gavin” would not refund so we could find another place to sleep comfortably. He asked us for proof lol. There were 6 of us for 3 rooms. I seen 1 while checking in at the front desk the others seen 2 scurrying around the steps/deck. I asked the neighbour's over at the gas station next store, said it’s an ongoing issue. Called public health, they said it’s not been the first compliant. Waiting on a return call from Tourism PEI to report it.
I just don’t think it’s fair for these people to be taking peoples hard earned money and sticking it to them.
We wasted 3 hours of our vacation time dealing with this with no help from the motel. Thankfully it was dealt with by our credit card companies. So be for-warned and spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

We stayed here 11 years ago in a two bedroom apartment and loved it. We came back in 2023 and stayed in a one bedroom apartment and it was terrible! The property has gone down hill (not sure if there are new owners). Very little had been updated since our last stay. It was dirty, there were earwigs and other bugs found in the room, the air conditioner needed to be serviced, the view from our back window was disgusting, the blankets looked like they were eaten by moths, the towels were stained and overall dinginess of the room. We couldn’t wait to leave. We would have left early but they demanded full payment at time of checkin. Never again!! The only positive thing about the Anne Shirley is that it is very close to all of the attractions.

It is unlikely that you will receive an answer to your question of specific availability of rooms in a hotel as most questions here are answered by fellow travellers. Also this is a seasonal establishment (open May 11-Sept 25 in 2016) It would be best if you either call them at the contact info below
