We were coming in to PEI from Quebec City and called to book Lantern House the day of our stay. Joan and Ken were extremely accommodating and ensured everything was prepared for our late arrival. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were well decorated and very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed the stay so much we decided to stay for an extra night. Joan and Ken gave us great tips on where to go and what to see on PEI and had maps and guidebooks available for us to use. We definitely recommend Lantern House and would happily stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at the lantern house located only 10 minutes from downtown and it was really clean, and tastefully decorated. The hosts were very kind and helpful as well. The only thing we would have changed was having our own bathroom rather than sharing, only because you lose a little bit of privacy that way! Overall - a great place to stay!

Our stay at the Lantern House was memorable. Joan and Ken were great hosts and went out of their way to answer all our questions and make suggestions about places to go and things to do. Our bedroom was small but had everything we needed, including a tv. The bathroom and shower is shared and is just a few steps away. A private screen separates the guest rooms from the main kitchen. Guests have access to a mini fridge and a sitting area. We stayed two nights and enjoyed two different homemade breakfast meals. We are planning to go back, this time staying in the room which offers a view of the sunrise.

A friend and I stayed two nights at the Lantern House (summer 2014). As young adults, this was our first stay at a Bed and Breakfast and we were so happy with our experience. The owners were very welcoming, friendly, and went out of their way to accommodate us. Our room was clean, well-kept and we experienced PEI hospitality at its best. Taxi's into the city were not hard to get and we will be sure to return again.

We stayed with Joan and Ken and really enjoyed it. Our room was comfortable and sharing a bathroom wasn't a problem. Breakfast was awesome--great food and conversation about politics (all of us were like-minded at the breakfast table) and things to do on the island. Thanks again for your hospitality!

Room Tip: If you are OK with sharing a bathroom, that's one option. There's also a larger bedroom...

Booked a room like 3 months prior, got there, there was an envelope on the door, with another name than ours. They double booked the room during the day with booking.com. so they left us stranded there, high season, everything around was booked. We were lucky enough to meet a local couple who had a room where we could spend the night...

We stayed at Lantern House for 3 nights while on PEI. The owners Joan and Ken were fabulous hosts telling us all the best places to go and things to see.
Very comfortable bed, quiet at night, great shower and beautifully cooked breakfast - what more could you want!
Would definitely recommend.

Very much enjoyed our stay. A wonderful couple with a litany of interesting stories. Great location to tour the island. Comfortable beds and wonderful light in all the rooms. Water views add to the ambiance of the deck off the back of the house. Very nice breakfast.

Having enjoyed our stay here last year, we chose to come back. This time we had a bigger bedroom with ensuite bathroom, offering a view of the sunrise (which I missed because the bed was so comfy). Joan and Ken are great hosts making everyone very comfortable. They are willing to share information and were helpful in making reservations for our dinner in Charlottetown. Our breakfasts were different both days and we enjoyed our conversations with the other guests. We have plans to come back and know we will not be disappointed.
