Living on the edge has never been so relaxing! Rated 4 stars by Canada Select, the Cliffside Inn overlooks the Northumberland Strait with 350 feet of waterfront. Relax on the private decks and sitting areas while searching for seals and porpoises in the waters below. National Parks, golf courses, island villages, award-winning wineries, and countless lighthouses are close at hand, allowing you to experience the true island life.
Wonderful stay at the Cliffside Inn! Such a hidden gem! Stayed for three nights, one night in the Cabin and two nights in the Birds Nest. Both rooms were spotlessly clean with ultra comfortable beds and linens. Breakfast buffet was delicious with bacon, sausage, pancakes, eggs, scrumptious potatoes and all the things to go with them. Our hosts, Jay and Amber took care of anything we needed and were a wealth of information on great places to eat and things to do on the island. They even provided beach chairs, towels and umbrellas and the location of a lovely sandy beach just minutes away. One night we were even treated to a great campfire with the other guests. We have visited the island yearly for over 40 years and must say that we loved this area and certainly plan to return to the Cliffside Inn. Waking up to the sunrise, views and sea-breeze from the Birds Nest is simply heavenly. It was hard to leave.

All the great reviews are accurate. Robert is a wonderful host and his inn is a specular place for relaxation.
We arrived to a warm greeting from Robert. He is warm and funny and really invites you into the peaceful, special atmosphere that he has created for guests. For us, what really set this experience apart was that Robert was a host in the truest sense of the word. We not only had a great experience at the Inn but he also provided advice and guidance in making our overall stay in PEI enjoyable.
The Inn is located at the end of a long country lane. It is literally steps from the cliffs and Northumberland Strait. The building itself is full of natural light and fits nicely into this beautiful setting. Robert greeted us upon our late afternoon arrival and after a tour of the Inn helped us develop an itinerary for the rest of the day, exploring beaches and a lighthouse on the eastern end of the Island. To show how much Robert cares, he even emailed us earlier in the day to alert us that most restaurants close by 7pm in this part of the island. Once we were there in person, he recommended a restaurant and made a reservation for us.
This sort of special care characterized our entire stay. Robert also helped us plan out our second day on the island, giving honest opinions on places he would skip, suggestions for food worth seeking out, and even drew out a possible route on a map. He is also a good cook, serving up tasty, hearty breakfasts in a lovely breakfast room with windows that bring in morning light.
Finally, Cliffside has a practical advantage (although one should choose it for the location and service and accommodations, not practicalities). It is one of, if not the closest, accommodations to the ferry that crosses the Strait to Nova Scotia. This comes in very handy if you choose to take a morning ferry allowing you to still have a leisurely breakfast without rushing to the terminal.
In short, Cliffside Inn is a very special place due to its wonderful setting and caring, brilliant host.

We absolutely loved our stay here. We stayed in the cabin suite. Check in was a breeze, we met the owners Jay and Amber right off, both were amazing and made us feel so welcome! They provided a brief tour of the building and were so gracious offering wine glasses if we needed and also gave us a ton of suggestions on what to do in the area which we really appreciated. The room had a wonderful King sized bed with a plush duvet, and two deck chairs to enjoy the view of the ocean from our balcony. Our room was very quiet and we had a very restful sleep. The next morning started with a few minutes to enjoy the view of the ocean with the binoculars provided in the room and then off for breakfast. Breakfast was excellent and delicious! Plenty of hot item choices and plenty of fresh fruit as well. We certainly recommend this B&B, and if we find ourselves in PEI again, we very much plan on returning!

My husband & I enjoyed a beautiful few days at The Cliffside Inn, to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. Jay & Amber were wonderful hosts, personable, attentive & very accommodating. They told us about their property, as well, they were very helpful with suggesting places to eat, things to see & do around PEI. Breakfast was great each morning, buffet style or you could submit a request from their menu the evening before. Eating area was bright, had everything you needed, with great views. We stayed in The Birds Nest suite. We enjoyed the room, amazing view, private entrance & deck. The room was very clean & as described. I would definitely stay here again & recommend to family & friends. Thank you Jay & Amber for the memorable stay, for our 25th anniversary.

After confirming received snarky welcome, no hospitality. Later verbally bullied. Room was adequate and nice. Breakfast was regular plain scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, fruit. Watermelon was sour. Most inconvenient was waking to no water, no functioning water, not sink, not commode. No apologies and no compensation. Oh well. They said they were trying.

Great spot with hosts Amber and Jay for two nights. Right on the shores with beautiful views of the sunrise and the occasional seal. Room was clean and bed and linens were very comfy. The main building is uniquely laid out with lots to keep guests busy. The breakfast was generous and exceeded expectations. The room for breakfast has a great view of the morning sun and water. There was a guest bonfire the first night that was great fun. Highly recommend.

Cliffside Inn is literally on a cliff and is a stunning and beautiful property. Robert the owner/host gave us a warm welcome and made us feel right at home. He was so friendly, knowledgeable, interesting, kind and he really made us feel special.
We stayed in the Lookout Suite. The view from there is spectacular. The room was spotless clean with lots of room to store our things and the wall hangings that Robert made are stunning and creative. There is also a private deck. There are actually a few decks that you can enjoy and watch the porpoises and seals or listen to the waves.
Robert has great taste and the furnishings, colours, pictures, wall hangings are really super cool. The Inn is so clean and inviting.
This is a destination that we will definitely return to.

Found this beautiful place while I was looking for a place to stay the night on the Prince Edward Island before taking the ferry to Nova Scotia. I wanted a place which was close in proximity to the Wood Island ferry terminal. I decided to give it a try and reached out to Robert (who is running this splendid bed and breakfast). Spoke to him over the phone and right away he gave me all the necessary information and gave his suggestion as to what to expect prior to arriving which was extremely helpful. He asked me about our dietary restrictions/preferences to make sure that we would enjoy our breakfast. He even recommended that I purchase my ferry tickets prior to be on the safer side. Upon my arrival, the place was impeccable and gorgeous. As soon as I entered the place, I was met with a friendly smile by our host, Robert and made us feel like we were home. He took us around and gave us a tour of the place while sharing jokes. I got the Suite Room which has 2 rooms as it was four of us staying. The Suite was beautiful and very cosy and it included all the amenities one can think off with an gorgeous view overlooking the ocean. We had our own entrance to the balcony if we wanted to sit outside, relax ana enjoy the view. The entire evening Robert was a great host, always around, making sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. He even asked us if we wanted breakfast at a certain time to make sure we get to the ferry terminal in time. The place felt like home away from home in true sense. The beds in both the rooms were extremely comfortable and I think it was one of the best night sleep I had in a while. There was no sound other than the sound of the ocean waves that you hear before you go to sleep and then wake up to it. Next morning, Robert was up and preparing breakfast while keeping us all company. He was so organized and did everything so effortlessly which was really impressive. I wished I knew of this place before so I could’ve stayed a bit longer but in the short time we were there, I would say that this was the best time me and my family had as everything about this place was perfection in every way. I would give the entire credit to Robert who made our time and our trip memorable and we will most certainly cherish our time that we spent at the Cliffside Inn :)

We discovered this gem last summer and loved it so much, we came back for another three night stay. Such a beautiful location - quiet, peaceful and gorgeous views overlooking a spectacular cliff. Our accommodations were impeccably clean, spacious, private and comfortable. The bed and linens are exceptional! Highlights include: relaxing on the deck in the afternoon, falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves or waking up to the sunrise and a delicious homemade breakfast. Our host, Robert is by far the friendliest, genuine and most accommodating innkeeper we’ve ever met who provided us with all kinds of information about the area and suggestions for places to visit and eat. The hospitality and thoughtfulness put into ensuring a perfect stay for every guest was evident in the details over and over. Thank you so much Robert!

June can still be chilly. September is much more reliable weather-wise.... Also, it is quieter after Labour Day... not so many people on the beaches.
I hope this helps.

Hello Robert:
I cannot tell you what my rates are for next season as of yet. I am still in the middle of this season and haven't thought that far yet.
That being said, a weekly rate of $1100.00CAD + taxes is this year's rates for a room for 2 people. I assume each couple would want their own room That should give you some time away from one another.
I hope this helps. Please say hello to Chris for me.
