Detailed Reviews
We recently spent 4 nights at this property. I booked fairly last minute so I was booked in to 2 nights in a motel suite and 2 nights in a deluxe cottage.
The property is located in beautiful North Rustico, which we found to be a perfect spot to use as a base for visiting locations in Cavendish and Charlottetown. A short drive down the street there is a Robin's Donuts, a small grocery store, and a few restaurants. Everything seems to close down by 8 pm though (including the restaurants), so make sure you get everything you need early!
This property has a beautiful pool in the middle of all of the cottages. It is very clean and surrounded by a high privacy fence. There is a shallow end and an end that is 8 feet deep, which was great for my 2 swimmers (age 10 and 15) to play around in. We were busy so we only got to use it once, but when we did we had it to ourselves for a while, and then had to share with only a couple of people after a while despite the property being fully booked.
Our first 2 nights were in a motel suite. It was very clean and had everything we needed. There was a full fridge and stove if we had wanted to cook our own meals. We requested the hide a bed be made up because my kids do not like sharing a bed. When the bed was pulled out, it did block access to the bathroom in the night so we had to crawl over it. A smaller person might be able to squeeze by though! The A/C in the room worked great. The room we had had a very slanted floor. This might be a little difficult for some people with poor balance, but we found it quirky and amusing and it would not prevent us from booking it again. I don't think all of the rooms are like that though so if this my be an issue to you just ask about it when you book.
Our next two nights were in a beautiful deluxe cottage. The kitchen was huge! (The floor was not slanted :) ) This time the hide a bed had plenty of room and did not block anything. The tv was large and very nice. The process of moving between the motel and the cottage was extremely easy. We were instructed to just leave all of our luggage by the door and food in the fridge and everything would be moved by the time we came back from breakfast. It worked perfectly and we didn't have to worry about food spoiling or loading our car again. Again, the A/C worked great and the cottage was very clean. Oddly there is no blind in the front door window so we hung a beach towel to block it off at night. The sliding closet door seemed to need repair and tended to go off track a lot but my husband was able to pop it back on.
Booking was easy, and all of my questions were quickly answered. Dwight and Noah were delightful to deal with and we will absolutely try to stay here again in the future.

Great location and the owners Heather and Dwight make it all the more special! We stayed in a two bedroom cottage and it was spacious with all the amenities you would expect including AC, full kitchen and bedding! We had a large deck overlooking the pool and field. There are communal fire pits outside and it seems that our neighbors didn't want to share so Dwight hopped on his golf cart and brought one over to use, just for us. Pool was clean and warm. Cottage was obviously very well maintained. You are about a 10 minute drive to Cavendish but there are restaurants, a small beach, and grocery store within a 3 minute drive.
But the owners are what make this place special. I just loved talking to them. They constantly went out of their way to help us and give us advise of where to bring our dog to the beach, to restaurants to satisfy everyone's cravings. They even called around a few restaurants for us since we arrived late (keep in mind that restaurants close by 8 pm!).
I won't stay anywhere else now in PEI and I look forward to going back to visit Heather and Dwight!

Welcoming, family owned, and operated place within a few blocks of North Rustico Harbor. Modest, comfy, clean, dog friendly. Nice view, laundry, pool, deck, grill, and kitchen. Continental Breakast served in sun porch was a great place to meet other guests, good coffee too. Owners Dwight, Heather, and family are within easy reach to suggest a good place to eat, a quiet beach, or the local fish market. This place was perfect for us and our dog. We extended our stay from 3 to 6 days.

Before even arriving We had an amazing experience with Dwight he went above and beyond to make our trip memorable!! He stayed in contact with us and when we did arrive it was so easy to check in. The rooms were absolutely cozy and very clean beds were comfortable and yes they allow animals!!! Any issues we had they were on it immediately example was our tv we were not sure how to operate it and they came and showed us. Great conversation at breakfast for they do serve a small breakfast ex boil eggs toast coffee tea jam peanut butter cereal. Property is kept nice. This is a family business and I recommend this establishment and they treat you like family. We will definately return Thank you for a beautiful experience it was our 1st time in PEI absolutely loved every moment ❤️

From the delightful Dwight you deal with upon booking to the friendly staff at check in and the cute little lady topping up the soap bottles…the people are friendly and take so much pride in their work. So welcoming. The sheets and towels smell so clean and the cottages are roomy and they have every little thing you could think of needing. The pool was gorgeous and the grounds so beautiful. We stayed in #22 and it was great for us with 3 adults and 2 kids. Mom and dad had a bed each to themselves a few nights. Just a great place to say and a great location.

This is a great place to stay in North Rustico! The location was perfect - a nice 2km walk down to N. Rustico Harbour, close to the grocery store, an amazing bakery and some other good spots to eat. Plus a short drive to Cavendish, Green Gables etc.
The owners are incredibly kind and helpful.
The cabins are simple, clean and had everything we needed. Pet friendly, which was important to us since we were travelling with a pet. I actually cancelled another booking elsewhere and rebooked to here based on that. And I’m so glad I did! This was absolutely the best spot to explore the are from.
The pool was a definite plus - a perfect way to cool off on a humid afternoon after we got back from exploring.

We visited the Canadiam Maritimes from the UK, staying at 8 different places - hotels, inns and cottages. We had an Open Concept cottage here, and it was by far the most enjoyable of our stays. Dwight and Heather were lovely, helpful hosts, Dwight drew a map for us of the nearby vicinity, and we visited and enjoyed all the places he recommended. My husband wanted to watch England play in the EUFA championships on the day of our arrival, but we were running late due to construction traffic. I rang ahead, and when we arrived Dwight had the match showing on the reception TV, so not a minute was missed while I did check-in. The cottage was very clean and jad everything we needed and the pool was a real bonus. We met Dwight's Mum in the breakfast room, and she was a lovely lady to chat with too. Thanks for a lively 4 night stay

This is a great place to stay if you are in PEI. The cabin was clean and the beds were so comfy. All the amenities you need are provided except for your food. The owners are great and very informative about the location and the surrounding area. I really enjoyed my 3 night stay here and would go back again for sure. You won't be disappointed.

What a great place to stay in Pei.. This is our second time and will not be our last. The cottages are so clean its a blessing I am kinda picky when it comes to places to stay and this is one place that is perfect.. The bed sheets towels smell so fresh and the rest of the cottage is spotless... The owners are great very friendly and helpful.. The keep a good eye one there property without being in your way.. pool is heated and is also spotless.. The only thing I would change is more playground equipment for the kids. Had a wonderful time and will be back next summer

Response from Dwight Houston, Owner at North Rustico Motel Cottages & Inn
Responded Sep 10, 2020
Thanks for staying with us again. We have a great staff that works really hard at making your stay the best we can. We really appreciate the support of our maritime customers this summer. We added new heat pumps with air conditioning in over half of our cottages this summer and look forward to more improvements for 2021!

Lovely cottages with all the amenities. Didn't need to ask for anything! They had it all. Very comfortable and quiet despite being full. Near restaurants, grocery stores, beaches. Very scenic area. We easily travelled to Charlottetown so although it's not central to a 'city' it was very easily doable in a short period of time.
