What can I say we had an awesome stay! We stayed for a few nights and found it very well located right in town. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and breakfast was delicious. We even made seaglass jewelry with one of their children. It was a 15 minute drive to Basin Head beach (Beyond the beach experience), the Fortune River (Pontoon boat cruise) and 2 minutes to Souris beach (Great shore birds, eagles and seaglass). We loved our stay there so much we'll have to go back!
We enjoyed our 2 night stay here on a recent cycling trip to PEI. The room was comfortable. We stayed on the side facing the water and had a pleasant although partially obstructed view. As the inn is not on the water, I believe most of the rooms would not have a water view. As previous reviews described very uncomfortable summer nights due to lack of air conditioning, we assume they've since updated. Our 2nd floor room had a portable window unit. We didn't use it, as the ceiling fan cooled us down enough to sleep well. The a/c did obstruct the view a bit however. The women who worked during our stay were friendly and helpful. The breakfast we had was adequate, and included a hot breakfast (pancakes) as well as boxes of cereal and a selection of yogurt. We had much better breakfasts at the other bed and breakfasts we went to while in PEI, so if a delicious breakfast is important to you, you may want to look elsewhere. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was large and with a good tub/shower. Easy walk to town. …
We stayed at McLean House Inn for a night last June while on a bike trip. This clean and quaint bed and breakfast is a century plus house, with wood floors, high ceilings, and antique furniture. The McLean House Inn is a large 3 storey mansard-roofed house on Washington Street in Souris overlooking Souris Harbour. It was built it in 1875 for the prosperous merchant & politician John McLean. The McLean House Inn continues to be an important landmark in Souris, an important component of its streetscape & is a well-preserved example of the Second Empire architectural style in Souris. There was lots of space in the room, a large bathroom, a nice view. The staff were pleasant and organized. The bed was comfy. Our tasty breakfast was included but the room was crowded with too many tables.…
We stayed two nights with having a private bath. The service from this family owned heritage inn was a over average. We were presented with smiles and handshakes the entire time. The kindness we received was not part of a few ruse to get us in, but rather part of all staffs personalities. We have already looked at booking for the fall.
Had room on third floor, which is a hike with luggage. Smallish room and very hot in July. Had AC but not that comfortable sleeping. Breakfast OK, but nothing special. Not a lot of choices in this area.
