Victoria was my favourite place visited in PEI ! i loved the village atmosphere and the friendliness of the people. The Orient was a great place to stay, convenient, comfortable, spotlessly clean and the most delicious breakfast... want to come back!!!
This is a unique charming place and we enjoyed our stay in this great little town, Even though it is an older hotel it is very well maintained and exceptionally clean. Patricia was a delight and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this B&B again.
A lovely hotel, very friendly host and the breakfasts were outstanding. The room was spacious, with a small separate sitting area, and a very roomy bathroom. Hot water was plentiful, and the host made himself available at all times.
This is a rather old world property, but is in very good condition. The rooms are immaculate and welcoming. We were especially pleased to have the Victoria Suite on the 2nd floor with a sitting room, spacious bathroom besides our bedroom. Breakfast was delicious, served promptly after 8AM. The entire stay was marked by very pleasant service from everyone we encountered. The village itself, despite lots of tourists, maintains its quaint character with lots of lovely old properties to see, good restaurants and friendly shopkeepers.
We had a lovely night at the Orient. A few relaxing drinks in the main bar listening to good music before venturing upstairs for a delicious meal amidst friendly service. The prices were eeasonable and the atmosphere was great
We did benefit from flexibilty when booking out of season - thank you! Enjoyed the very nice and clean room, excellent bed (!) and view and certainly the very special breakfast which is prepared with love to the details, homemade and delicious. We recommend this place to all PEI travellers!
This hotel is colorful, clean, quiet, and a great location. We stayed here a week and used it as out base camp to explore the island. The rooms are all quite charming with a brightness that is surely enjoyed. We stayed in a suite and it was nice to have an extra room for a longer stay. The breakfast fare in the morning was every creative and prepared to perfection. Within a few minute walk there are three very good restaurant's The town is tourist busy in the daytime but slows down quickly later in the day. September is a great time to go since everything is slowing down. October would also work although some of the places are starting to close for the season. We loved it here and plan on going back next year.
My wife and I stayed at The Orient Hotel July 26th and 27th. We were not disappointed. We were in room number 5. King suite with sitting area and large bathroom. Everything we needed. As we knew that the Property had no AC, we brought a couple of fans from home and were able to sleep quite comfortably even with this season's unbearable humidity. Breakfast was awesome and beautifully presented! Charming spot in a charming town. We definitely would recommend The Orient Hotel to anyone visiting Victoria by the Sea.
Victoria by the Sea is one of those places you can hardly comprehend: quiet, sleepy, unbothered by the world outside its borders, seemingly remote and with a population in winter of only about 100, believe it or not. Time seems to have stood still here as the appearance of the Orient Hotel (the only hotel in town) seems to confirm. The hotel certainly has charm but seniors need to be aware that there are only moderately lit stairways to the upper floors, the rooms are not spacious (nor are the bathrooms: our small sink would even have made British tourists gasp) and there is no air conditioning which this summer, particularly in the upper floors of the hotel, would have been most welcome. And yet, and yet.... You can't help but like the place. The room furnishings were varied…
As others have written, we were a bit concerned by the somewhat run down appearance of the hotel from outside.. Inside we were pleasantly surprised by the decor and the well taken care of interior. Each room is decorated differently with a small sitting room upstairs between a couple of bedrooms. Our sink was small and tucked behind the bathroom door. However, it did the trick. We moved the large comfy chair to make room for our suitcases. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The owner told us the hotel is called the Orient because at one time Victoria was a bustling port with many ships from The Orient; hence the name and oriental influenced items in the living room.
