A great way to experience first hand, a night at the "cabin in the woods". We stayed at Le 7eme Ciel, the only cabin (very isolated, yet very close to the main reception amenities), with electricity. we loved the top terrace, and enjoyed watching the stars from there. Fully equipped, and very clean (this includes the main reception facilities). A...

This was my b-day gift. Wow , I was so impress , it must be one of the best surprise ever. My partner and I spent 3 days at La pierre de feu and it was so unique. La Pierre de feu is beautiful and with the candles it looks even better. The other accommodations are far away that you...

My husband and 3 year old visited the Montagnard gite for 3 nights. It's an easy trip from Montreal and a great place to go in order to escape the big city. From what we saw, every hut was secluded making you feel as if you were alone in the forest, though still with the comfort of fresh water, beds...

We stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved our time! We rented the Pierre de Feu which is a very unique medieval styled hobbit-like house. It was well built and aesthetically wonderful! The indoor latrine toilet didn't smell and was well taken care of. There are fireplaces inside and outside each chalet which was very handy during rainy days...

Have been there twice and would certainly return! The ecolodges are unique and luxurious for a back to nature type of experience. Most without electricity and running water however still magnificently comfortable and well-appointed! The property is not large however if you are hiking or snowshoeing there are many acres of meandering and scenic trails. The grounds are stunning whatever...

This property offers several types of ecofriendly cottages that are beautifully set in the woods about an hour and a half from Montreal. Although there is no running water and only limited electricity the accommodations are well equipped with acceptable alternatives. For example the pit toilets ( outhousees) in some of the cottages are inside and are absolutely odourless. Really!...

We stayed only one night - only one available as they are booked months, even a year ahead! We stayed a the Grande Ours cottage, very cute old barn look to it. It had one bedroom with double bunk beds, kitchen/dinette area and a living room with a pull out couch bed. The cottage has no running water or electricity...

I understand the allure of getting away from "civilization" for a tranquil weekend. The site itself is beautiful, the staff exceptionally friendly, but wow was our cabin cold. Having grown up heating with wood I couldn't believe how poorly the stove worked (-6 outside in the morning, and +5 in the cabin). My girlfriend and I traded shifts getting up...

If you are in the Eastern Townships in Québec, think of staying a few nights in one of Cimes et Racines' cabins! The site is easily accessible, yet you would think you are miles away from civilization! While cabins do have electricity or running water, they are very cozy and seems right out of a storybook! We enjoyed the "labyrinthe"...
