Built in 1901 on a promontory overlooking the St. Lawrence River, l'Auberge sur la Côte welcomes guests with beautiful views of the cliffs at Pointe-au-Pic and the breathtaking serenity of the mighty river. Once the Binsse family's summer retreat, the house was transformed into one of the coziest and most romantic inns in Charlevoix. Intimate, comfortable and rustic in turn, the Inn's rooms guarantee visitors an unforgettable stay. L'Auberge sur la Côte is the last true inn of the region because of its authenticity and attention to details. Visitors can see it, live it and taste it: romantic suites with private bath, a dining room dominated by a huge stone fireplace, a living room with stylish rattan furniture and a lovely glass-enclosed terrace where visitors can enjoy breakfast while basking in the glow of the mighty river, well-tended lawns...Here, you'll find warmth and beauty!

One never knows what to expect. Because of COVID-19 check in is always at 4:00 p.m. Right away you know the venue is practicing the protocols. This place was immaculate. Masks worn etc. The room was lovely. The owner bought the place three years ago. She has done a first class job. If you eat everything on offer at breakfast, you will not need lunch. If ever in the area again, we would stay here…as you should when you visit.

What a beautiful place! The owner and her staff are simply wonderful! Welcoming and sweet. Loved our room, enjoyed breakfast facing the St-Laurence, and also had a drink there each night before dinner. We plan on coming back this winter to enjoy another side of this breathtaking paradise!

Lovely Inn with nice proprietor (Lise). Good recommendations for close by excellent dining. Accomodations comfortable with jetted tub in the room opening to a quiet garden. Breakfast as advertised,a simple continental with multigrain bread for toast ,hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereal, coffee and juice. Only 1 small recommendation......amenities such as high quality bar soap. Often people don't carry this on vacation.
Our stay was relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. Location gives easy access to National Park and easy access to quaint Charlevoix river towns

The only positive about this property is the river view from our room. For the rest, everything is ordinary, the reception, the poorly decorated rooms (beautiful plastic chandelier), a rod even broke off the wall and fell on the head of my husband who was reading. The bathroom is very old. As for the breakfast included, it is very ordinary, bland coffee, we even serve sliced bread, never seen that. A place to avoid.

If I had to put a 0 I would have done so.
A nice place, but what is honesty and the continental breakfast nothing really good. And the owner who sits down with her cell phone right on the buffet table…. Let's just say it has no place in addition to being as stupid as his feet.
Go your way.

Beautiful location overlooking the river. Clean and quality room.
Despite a nice welcome from the employee, the hostel seems to have lost its former soul.
The owners are pretty wiped out. No exchange, no home cooking, a disappointing and minimalist lunch. No mood music, too bad!

We stayed with Chantal at this lovely place for three nights in June and I can't say enough about the hospitality we received. She made us lovely breakfasts every morning and offered to show us around La Malbaie. We had a fire in the beautiful fireplace every evening and sat and chatted into the wee hours of the morning. We loved the hot tub and the view from it. If you stay here, you will not be disappointed. I feel like we made a new friend!

The auberge itself is a perfect home away from home. The owner, Chantal, is very present and charismatic. She goes beyond the call of duty to ensure that your stay is as pleasurable and comfortable as possible. The auberge has a classic cottage feel. Couldn't have chosen a more relaxing environment for our weekend getaway. We will definitely be going back. Francis & Tara

The brand new owner, Chantal, is a sweetheart! She bent over backwards to accommodate us... Past negative reviews are related to the old owner. Our room was quaint, charming and reasonably priced. The view of the bay was superb and breakfast was tasty and plentiful. It's a very old house, filled with lovely furnishings and the grounds are lovely. The house itself is in need of repairs but the owner, who bought the place all on her own, is cheerful, enthusiastic and has a long-term plan to restore the home to its former glory. Hats off to her for her courage! We wish her much success!

We stayed in September and landed in the rain to the smell of a wood fire burning in the lounge with great big comfy sofas and chairs. Our room was a smaller, budget conscious room and so this beautiful living room/lounge on the main floor was wonderful. Lise encouraged us to use it. There were other rooms available as well, but since it was chilly and damp, this was perfect. We enjoyed our evenings by the fire chatting with the other guests. Lise, the new owner is very brave to take on the challenge to run the inn year round. She has a delightful personality and is very competent. She made wonderful recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to enjoy. Breakfast was generous and fresh, and a very nice variety to suit anyone's preference. We wish her all the best and would definitely return to experience the beauty of the Charlevoix region.
