As the road to Nemiskau seemed rough, we decided to go there by seaplane, good choice I think, we landed on the lake, and docked just in front of the main building. We were quickly settled in our comfortable room in a separate building. There are many activities you can do, including swimming, canoeing, going to the spa, fishing(I don't). On the last night, we slept in a teepee a bit further away from the buildings, wonderful experience! The restaurant of the hotel has delicious food, was a pleasure to come down to the main building for meals. We could easily have stayed longer !!!
Your room is a cabin nestling around the lake and each has a wonderful view. The room is clean and the beds are comfortable. There is no kettle, hairdryer etc - don't forget to pack if needed. The food was varied and edible unlike some Canadian hotels we had stayed in. There is a lovely walk around the lake approx. 6km so bring some sensible footwear. Downside for me are the limited places you can walk and bird-watch. Apart from the lake and one other circuit of 1.2km all the other tracks were out of bounds because of the wild black bears. We were here for two nights and spotted a Great Northern Diver, Pileated Woodpecker, Belted Kingfisher, American Robin, Black Capped Chickadee, Red Breasted Nuthatch and more.
The site is 80km far from the closest town, deeply inside the lands......but at the end of the road you are in paradise. The "domaine" is organized and you have everything you need there: 19 cottages spread out over the area can accommodate from 2 to 26 guests each. You can then cook your own meals if you like or enjoy the amenities of the lodge. In the restaurant, you will enjoy delicious food from a wide choice of menus; amazing!. Canoe, kayaks, fishing boats, Volley ball, Fishing courses, Nature discovery, Night camp fire & Mash Mellows......and the all supported but a fantastic staff and dedicated personnel......if you dream about Quebec, like the wild nature you want to "cut off" from mobile phone routine for a relaxing dream in couple, alone or with the all family, go there......…
A great place to stay a couple of days or more if fishing. Very nice views of landscapes and a great staff. Adventure starts when entering road 125 to access!
