10 years we have been visiting this wonderful outfitter. This year we opted for a leisurely drive, with magnificent scenery, for an overnight with stay in La Tuque. We finished the 3 1/2 drive through the magnificent wilderness, complete with bear sightings, to reach this outfitter’s parking lot / boat dock. My business partner and I prefer the “VIP” treatment we receive at the main lodge. Great meals which include choices for breakfast as well as choices for dinners (5 star & four course). Each year we opt to eat some of our catch to ensure that our limit of fish can be taken home for consumption at a later date to remind us of the great fishing we experience at L’Aventurier du Gouin. 10 years we eat some of our catch on site and it has never been prepared the same way!ALWAYS delicious. This stands as a true testament to the clearly qualified cooks that ensure that their guests are professionally pampered. Cook, servers, cleaning staff and guides always merit their shared tips. We love being generous as they all are deserving and their combined efforts makes our stay problem free. Great fishing. A1 Gen and Francois.

I love to fish. I have few opportunities to do so throughout the year. That being said, when I find a place that allows me do do so with great success I feel obliged to share this great kept secret. L'Aventurier du Gouin is simply a great place for Walleye and Pike. Lots of areas to hone one's skills and and always well equipped boats with reliable motors. It's a big place. So first timers should book a guide to allow you to survey the various areas the fish may be, depending on weather conditions and water depths. Staying at the auberge allows for truly five star meals. Menu items are well thought out, perfectly prepared and always delicious. All the staff deserve their tips. Everyone is always engaging, professional and friendly. I have returned here six times over the years with various friends and we all have always caught our limits, have been very well treated and always enjoyed our stays. The owners, Genevieve and Francois have developed a truly unique product. My hats off to both of them and all their staff. Looking forward to returning once again. Jeffrey

Francois and Genevieve are great. The lodge is great and the location is quiet at night. Spend a week and your guaranteed that you will get your fish I went with ,y daughter and wife through the years. All have enjoyed. Food is grest, none of that lodge typical food. Just look at the pictures on their sight what you see is what you get

The first time at L'Aventurier Du Gouin we were taken aback by the sheer size of this imposing body of water. Not yet seasoned boatsmen, we took it slow and ventured out close to the auberge. Francois and Genevieve shared their expertise to help us newcomers to "find" the hotspots where fish were recently biting. We also availed ourselves of the expert guide(s) who helped us understand where, when and why fish were at the numerous areas during the given weather periods. Once we knew where we could go, the rest was simply a matter of returning by ourselves to those areas (some close / some farther away). Once you find the Walleye - WOW is it fun to fish! Catching your limit can take 3 days or ten minutes (really no lie). It has been five consecutive years we return each spring to enjoy not only the incredible fishing of Dore and Pike but also the truly Five Star meals at the auberge. The boats are clean, motors easy to use and super reliable. The most impressive thing about this establishment, aside from the excellent fishing, is the entire staff that serves you. From the pick up at the parking lot for the 40 minute boat ride across the reservoir to the serving staff for your daily meals to the cook who somehow manages to produce truly 5 star meals in a kitchen smaller than some closets. When we wanted a different pace from fishing all day we took walks along their sandy beach or sat around a fire watching the moon. All in all a remarkable place made even more special by the professional staff that all seem to somehow invoke a really close family atmosphere. See you again.
