This fine establishment often refered to as a "hotel" was truly jaw - dropping, for lack of a better term. It is probably the single best hotel you will find in the area of Lac Etchimin. 10 out of 10.

Nice resort and beautiful lake. Stayed 3 days. Bed was comfy if you like firm mattress. Pool and whirlpool very enjoyable. Pool temp was between 84 and 88 degrees. Food was excellent. Recommend without hesitation.

We have spent 4 nights with the family here. We appreciated our stay. The very friendly and welcoming staff made us feel at home here. We must mention the waitress Jennifer who took the time to write us a programme of nice things to do in the surroundings. We have traveld a lot but I have hardly seen a place where the staff is so focussed on delevering high service. Well done! Rooms are a bit old and a bit noisy. Bit beds are confortable. Shower same. Free parking. Breakfast and diner are up to standard; nice food. Price-quality is fine. Nice view on the lake in a nice enviroment. We could certainly recommend this place.

The room was okay but a bit noisy and dated. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the restaurant had good food at reasonable prices. The grounds were really nice and we enjoyed relaxing by the lake.

Stayed at this place during a weekend of sled dog races. We had 2 pet dogs in our room with us, and happily paid a reasonable $20 per night pet charge ($10/dog) for the both of them, for a total of $40. Then they asked for a credit card for a pet deposit. I was confused, as I already paid them to have my 2 dogs. They said they needed to hold an extra $200- just hold, they reassured me- and would release the funds back to me when I checked out and they could send someone to look for pet damages in the room. I cautiously complied, although this seemed like overkill. They told me not to worry, they could send someone to check our room right as we checked out so it was only to be safe in case they needed to do carpets or repairs. When we went to check out, I was informed that they would be keeping an extra $50 from that hold because the room probably smelled. What? That $200 was a HOLD for PET DAMAGES. Not for ASSUMED issues. I informed the front desk person that no housekeeper had been in our room, so how could they say I owe them more for something they are only guessing at? The girl said, "Weren't you in 3__?" No, I said. I was in room 2__, on an entirely different floor. "Oh," she replied, "Well my manager just told me to charge the pet rooms $50 and only give them back $150 for cleaning the smells." Initially I was told the room would be checked over when I was ready to leave, after which they would release the $200 hold, so I reminded her of this and requested that she, a manager, or a housekeeper accompany me to my room to do this check so they could see that there were NO DAMAGES, or to account for any damages they might find, and she refused. She flat-out refused to check herself or call anybody. She was just there to take my money. This is the service you will receive if you stay here, which I do not recommend. I stripped my room of the housekeeper's tip (sorry, housekeeper, but if I'm being shaken down by your business, I am not voluntarily leaving you more- they should have $50 for you at the front desk) and took down the 1-800 phone number so that I could talk to someone more reasonable once I got back into the US. I have called them since, and they informed me that my room was "messy" and they "had to clean everything" and the "bathroom had a blood splatter" on the tile floor and it smelled. I explained that it is very easy to randomly list off some flaws or issues now, but the fact is, they refused to look for any of these so-called damages when I was there (like they were supposed to) making it very easy for them to be making things up now. And with the sketchy treatment I've already received by them, I do not believe any of these damages even existed- except for the occasional piece of straw dragged in from our boots. The entire parking lot outside the rooms was being used as sled dog grounds, and it was impossible to avoid having some straw fragments from their bedding on your clothing if you even so much as petted one. So, yes, I am sure they had to vacuum up some straw. They should probably vacuum the rooms out after every guest anyway, though. And still, NONE OF THIS WAS DUE TO PET DAMAGE. However, they keep repeating themselves on the phone that it smelled and they had to clean it (honestly, I hope they clean it more often than apparently they must for the fit they were throwing over it). So, I have opened a dispute with my crddit card company and am waiting to hear back from them. Avoid this hole like the plague! I will never recommend that anyone waste their money here. Awful experience all around. My funds still have not been released back into my account as well. Incompetent or just plain theivery? I guess we'll let my credit card company decide.

I stayed here when vacationing and visiting the truck races in St Joseph de Beauce. I had an issue on the way that I would miss my check in...I called and the girl at the desk stayed late and waited for me. It was one hell of a long expensive day just getting there but she changed my mood with a sweet smile and freindly greeting. As english is my only language, the staff was really genuinely pleasant in accommodating my barrier. My room was very clean and comfortable and well kept. What a beautiful location!!!! I hope to return there some day. For those considering this place, book a room that overlooks the lake.

40+ members of our family celebrated my Mom's 100th birthday at Manoir Lac Etchemin. The premises were clean and well set-up for our party. The 3 course meal we had chosen was fantastic. All allergies and exceptions were accommodated. The birthday cake looked amazing and tasted incredible. I can't say enough about the wait staff. They were attentive, polite, smiling, respectful and service was quick. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We have just returned from two days (one night) at the Manoir du Lac Etchemin. I must say, as soon as we came back home, we slept a bit on our own bed, as the bed at this hotel is one of the worst I ever seen. It has this big "hole" in the middle, and we barely slept last night. After 2-3 hours of my own bed, I can now write this review. The shower is disfunctional, my wife didn't even try to wash her hair in the shower, she feared that she may lost some hairs. The colors choices for the bedroom (and, in fact, the whole hotel) is so ugly, it make your eyes burn. Clearly, it is not a winter destination. There's absolutely nothing to do there in winter, you have no access to the lake (which is the main attraction), and you can't even take a little walk by the side of the river (except if you have a Ski-doo, as I forgot mentionning there's a LOT of them there, allowed to make noise until 10h30PM). We opted for the "Romantic Vacation" package that we bought at "La Forfaiterie" (319$CAN + TX). My wife and I both agree that there's nothing romantic there AT ALL. They tried to hide that fact behind a bottle of 9% alc/vol sparkling white wine, a rose, and a 4$ chocolate box, but that is nothing compared to the bedroom uglyness. There was also this weird "love game", called "French Kiss", that was laying on the bed, a vintage 1980's edition, with the box half ripped off. We didn't bother playing. This package included the dinner at the five service restaurant. I must admit that if it was not for that meal, I would have leave before sleeping there. The meal was excellent, and worth every dollars (39,95 + TX + tips). In conclusion, this hotel is nothing more than any cheap hotel you can find everywhere. It has nothing special, nothing romantic and you'll be please to spend your money elsewhere.
