We have already booked there for a future vacation with the family. The studio was cozy for two but I can’t imagine four for a week. Fire place was great. Looking forward to a larger unit for our family vacation. Nice walking trails and cross country skiing and mt. Bike trails nearby.
The management of this resort seems very organized and rigorous to me. I've never been disappointed since I became a regular visitor. Close to St. Sauveur (about 20 minutes by car) where we can find good restaurants, groceries, outlets, and nice boutiques. For skiers, that must be a nice place also.
It's a nice place for a big change around nature, very kind people, good food, Spa. I found all I wanted to rest and feel real vacations. It's a nice place to enjoy alone or together with others. I'd like to go back on summer time to take all the activities they offer.
We had a wonderful week (October 16 to 24). Front desk staff Audrey and Dominique were excellent. Covid protocols were in place and respected everywhere. Martin and Nathan and Megan were the recreation folks, and they kept lifejackets and throwing axes disinfected between users. Martin was really friendly and helpful about the hiking trails, and coached me til I got the axes to stick in the target! There was also target shooting with an air rifle, which was a new experience for me. We were also able to kayak and peddle boat, and play mini golf and tennis. (All of these activities are included in the resort.) There was still colour on the hills when we arrived, and two sunny days allowed us to cover most of the onsite trails, which are very well marked, and moderate. I used my hiking poles after the first day, as I prefer the extra stability on rocks or crossing streams, but my husband was fine without. There is an ATV trail/road you can use to get up to the lookout point if you don't want to go on the trails. We liked walking past the sled dogs, who would howl and bark as soon as they heard us coming. In winter, dogsledding would be cool to try. The gym, spa and outdoor pool and restaurant are closed due to covid restrictions, and we chose not to use the indoor pool, which did look nice. The restaurant, while closed, does offer room service, with the same excellent food we had read about. The chef really is quite good. We felt the value of the table d'hote menu, at $45 per person for an appetizer, main and dessert (and bread) was quite good, and we had 2 dinners. We were really glad we had taken our own wine, though, as they have an extensive, and expensive wine cellar! Marie, who was responsible for answering all calls to the restaurant and explaining the day's specials, was lovely, and delivered our food to our unit with a smile in her voice (masked, of course!). We feel spoiled, as the resort was very nearly empty when we were there, between summer and winter high times, and with covid travel restrictions. Our unit was very pleasant and comfortable, though we did find the bed quite hard. A phone call to the front desk brought a thick foam mattress pad right away, which solved the problem. Our dvd player wouldn't play our discs, and the maintenance man solved that problem by exchanging it for a newer model. I must comment that this was the cleanest condo we have ever been in! The housekeeping staff is doing an excellent job. …
Not a gold crown resort. Not even close. The rooms are very dated, the master bed is only a double, the sofa bed uncomfortable and sloping! Only one duvet, no soap in the bathroom. On the positive side, the kids enjoyed the pool and the rooms are clean.
