St-Hippolyte’s Auberge du Lac Morency is nestled in a charming location in the heart of the Laurentians, just 50 minutes north of Montreal. Built in 1934 and completely renovated, this warm and inviting Inn is the soul of an international holiday resort. At the beginning of the 90s, 4 rooms had already been added to the 10 original, and since 2001, 26 new luxurious units have been built. Our Restaurant:The Auberge du Lac Morency’s restaurant staff is composed of gastronomy lovers… they appreciate textures, aromas and flavors. Both kitchen and dining room employees are proud to be able to allow our guests to live wonderful moments. Everything is taken into consideration in order to attain a high level of excellence that our clientele will no doubt appreciate. For example, our Director wanted to offer smoked meats and fish… a smoker was thus built which allows our chef to express his originality. Your visit to the Auberge du Lac Morency wouldn’t be complete without having tasted our smoked salmon! Why not try it with a glass of white wine chosen from the hundreds of choices present on our wine card.Early on Sunday mornings, at the chez Hippolyte restaurant, our entire team prepares to serve our delicious brunch. Brioches, croissants, fine cheeses, fruits, salads and cooked meats are on the menu and will make both young and old wish they could eat more. Our table d’hôte is changed regularly, usually as the seasons themselves do. Our chef chooses lighter foods for the warmer seasons and richer ingredients in the winter. Our Spa:We offer Swedish and hot volcanic rock massages. Esthetic and body wrap treatments are also available.Offer yourself this precious gift and you will find balance between your body and soul.Hope to see you all in the laurentians!

Detailed Reviews
This is a great full service family resort located on a lake in the beautiful Quebec Laurentians. There are several accommodation options, we had a two bedroom unit with a spacious living room and kitchen on two floors. The resort provides equipment for summer and winter activities. Great snowshoeing on site, but must travel at least 20 minutes for downhill skiing. There is a full service restaurant which was quite good, we also cooked in our unit. The unit was spotless. During our week, housekeeping came in twice to replace dirty items, remove garbage, etc which we appreciated. We plan to return next winter.

+1
We stayed in a 2 bedroom, adjoining unit. The secondary unit had a queen bed and pullout couch, 3 piece bathroom with jetted tub, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker flat screen tv and dishes/cutlery. The main unit had a separate bedroom with queen bed, 3 piece bathroom(jetted tub), washer/dryer, and in the living area, a fireplace, flat screen tv, pullout couch, chair and dining table for 6. There was a full kitchen (full size fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, hand mixer, toaster, coffee maker and dishes for 6) that was reasonably sized. We had a small deck on the front, where we could see the lake through the trees. We were on the second floor and there is no elevator, for those with mobility concerns. There is no a/c, but there are ceiling fans and heat pumps in both units!
The resort had all we needed/wanted: gym with treadmill, bicycle and free weights, indoor pool/hot tub, outdoor pool/hot tub, puzzles, books and board games area, beach on the lake with chairs, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats (all free for use), tennis court, mini golf, spa and excellent restaurant with lake view.
There is a convenience store with liquor store within a 3 minute drive (20 min walk with hills), gas station too and a major grocery store within a 15 min drive. Montreal is a short 70 km away (about 1 hour drive) which made for a perfect day trip.
This is perfectly placed and well maintained. A gem that we will return to when we are able!!

Lac Morency is one of the most well maintained resorts we have been to. This was out third time. The condo is absolutely lovely! The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, cutlery and a few extras you would not expect. The fridge, stove and dishwasher are all new. The living room has a comfy couch, end table, coffee table and a flat screen TV. The bedroom has enough storage space for all your clothes and to store you luggage. There are even bedside lights with charging ports for your phone. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is large with a lot of storage and even has a bathtub with jets. All through the condo there are little touches that make it homey......mirrors, prints and nice lighting. We were there during a snow storm but the plows kept the roads and parking areas clean. We used the indoor heated pool and sauna. They were both very clean. There were also other facilities we did not use, such as the gym and Nordic Spa and restaurant (lunch and dinner). There are also snowmobiles you can rent and dog sled tours. I definitely give the Auberge du Lac Morency 5 stars and would recommend this resort to anyone who was looking for a high quality stay.

Our experience with this location was not a good experience. The very first thing that I would indicate is to consider which building to stay in containing 2 bedroom units. The units in "A" are located in a convenient spot but you will get a lot of foot traffic right outside your front door.. The location of the resort also offers ATV and Jeep rentals which sounds great but all of these machines are cleaned from 9am to 5pm daily literally in your backyard using powerwash equipment. The constant noise was a nuisance as you could not open windows or patio door for the entire day. The unit was rustic and that made it very dark inside and with inadequate lighting, it didn;t help the situation. The equipment for water sports was inadequate for the number of guests on the site at any given time. While there were time restrictions in place to ensure that people would eventually have access to it. The people managing these amenities were fantastic but they could only do what they could based on the equipment they had. There are a lot of other walking trails 5 minutes down the road by car but the resort didn't provide any information on this. I think this information should have been made available to all guests on check-in to make the most out of their stay. The lake is beautiful but small with no powerboats allowed. You can kayak around the whole lake in less than 1 hour to give you an idea on the size.

Thank you for your input I had not heard complaints on the noise before and will look into it The A building is rustic while the other buildings have a more modern feel. Our resort is quaint on a lovely small lake with no motorized sports allowed. The activity centre does supply maps to hiking trails as opposed to our front desk as they keep things current . If you do decide to return please request to book the 2 bedroom lock-off. Thank you again for your time on writing this review.

Great place for a quiet holiday, but not if you're looking for a good selection of restaurants nearby or any sort of nightlife. Very clean and comfortable and staff is attentive and helpful. Beautiful surroundings and lots of hiking options. My only complaint is they need to better manage the use of chairs at the pool. With such a large resort, and limited space at the pool, they really should post notices about not saving chairs, and removing people's belongings that are on chairs that have not been used for an hour. I thought this sort of selfish behaviour was specific to Caribbean resorts, and was shocked to see this happening here. Definitely a problem that management could easily address.

We just spent five amazing days at Auberge du Lac Morency and can't wait to return! The resort is absolutely stunning, the staff was attentive and friendly and we were so impressed by every attention to detail. The onsite restaurant was absolutely delicious - we were lucky enough to have Isabel as our server, who also happens to be the sommelier -and were treated to a tour of the restaurant's incredible wine cellar after our meal. All the resort's Covid safeguards that were put in place and followed made us feel very safe. Highly recommended for families, couples or any group of friends!

The unit was big with everything you need to cook your own meals or enjoy the restaurant's delivered fine cuisine in your own unit. The beds were comfortable. The staff did bring us a fan upon request. The activities staff was eager to ensure we enjoyed the premises. We tried canoe, pedal boat, paddle board, mini-golf, indoor pool, hiking, etc. We liked the reservation system for the indoor pool which allowed to keep a reasonable distance with other swimmers. The outdoor pool was not yet open when we stayed. It was easy to respect social distancing at the beach and we felt like safety measures were in place.

We enjoyed our stay at Geo Holiday Lac Morency. We like they had free amenities such as snow shoeing, tube sledding (wish it was better and safer), sledding on lake, ice skating (we didn’t get to enjoy bc it was too slushy they said) and paid experiences (snowmobiling ($210 for 2 hour guided) and dog sledding ($175 for 2 hours/person)- it was a bit pricy but good experience). They have one of the biggest Siberian husky dog raising parks around. The indoor pool and hot tub and dry sauna was nice. Wish outdoor hot tub is included but u had to pay as part of spa to go outside, which I thought was a little strange. Many other places let u go outside hot tub for free. They had few other things like spike ball and axe throwing but it was not clearly marked when it was going on. We happen to be there by chance so we got to do it. 2:30 and 3:00 if u want to go. They had many trails for snow shoeing. It’s listed that they have cross country skiing but you have to bring your own skis. It takes an hour if you want to go skiing to Tremblant and an hour drive to goto Montreal. The decor in the unit needs to be updated. The pictures hanging inside the units were really old and very cheap looking. They need to leave at least two soap in the bathrooms- one for sink and one for shower. Only one hand bar soap was there. Kitchen had everything needed to cook. Pillows were not that comfortable. Housekeeping came twice during the week to replenish. Staff were all friendly. Heating in the master bedroom was very strange. It didn’t have a heating unit but makeshift vent was created from the living room heating unit to bring over heat to master BR. It wasn’t enough heating if the door is kept closed. The door had to be left open between living room and bedroom. That needs to be fixed. Overall, we had a nice stay.

We stayed in a studio as an RCI exchange. A little tight with the mini kitchen, not much counter space but they supply lots of pots/pans/dishes/cutlery, all you need for many meals. An open bedroom upstairs was awesome, and a hide a bed downstairs. The mattresses are uncomfortable, but for the short away from home get a way, it was fine. The indoor swimming pool with towels provided, was relaxing! There is a spa on site, for an extra fee, as well as a restaurant. The dog sledding and ski do, for extra fee, was also amazing! Our daughter went into the woods, where the dogs stay, and actually led the dogs with the sled! She had a great time! Ski mountains are within 25 minutes away and great winter fun! Front desk staff were wonderful! Our car got stuck in the snow and they sent someone right away to help us out! Would highly recommend this resort! It's our 4th time here and will definitely return! Only 50 minutes away from Montreal!

Not accommodated in the resort as pictured on RCI website - we were up a hill (Unit G). When I booked with RCI, they advised that I could not get 3 x 1 bedroom units, I had to settle for 1 x 1 bedroom and 1 x studio. When we got there and during the whole week, the place was next to empty - I will no longer exchange with RCI as they appear to have lowered their standards - not to mention the cost of booking. During the week, we had to go downhill to pick up paper towels and tissue.

Thank you for your comments. RCI gives you the same number of units or points that you trade . The fact that you received 2 units and we as you stated were empty has nothing to do with us as a resort. Just so you are aware not all units at our resort are part of rci so we assume that is all rci had in their pool. Secondly I understand from the front desk that you picked up supplies after our housekeeping hours. Our housekeeping team is not 24/7. We are truly sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. It really is a beautiful resort with gorgeous surroundings.

There are no trains near St Hippolyte that I am aware of.
They are closest to the restaurant and pool.
Yes we are in operation, there were a massive power outage due to a freak storm. The power outage lasted 5 days. But thankfully no damage to the property.
Not sure. Plenty of room for pets. Great outside areas. Super nice people -give them a call.
