Even though the hour of our arrival was getting late, we were welcomed very warmly. The owner gave us space in her own freezer for our cooler ice packs and kept our canned juice drinks in her kitchen fridge overnight. Our room was very comfortable, with lovely soft sheets and a window looking out over a lama in the yard beyond the house. The breakfast next morning was superb - cold grapefruit juice, vanilla yogurt, a warm date muffin on a plate with four different fruits ... followed by a crepe filled with a ham and cheese omelette, topped with fresh maple syrup. We took our delicious hot coffee out to the comfortable chairs on the side porch of the house, where we had more views of our lama friend. This is a superb bed and breakfast which we'd highly recommend.
We booked the inn but never stayed because The owner stated that she had allergies, even though the service dogs paper show it to be a non-allergenic . We believe that the owners just did not care. If they have service dog problems what else do they have as issues.
We stayed here for one night on our way to Prince Edward Island. France was very accommodating and helpful with my parents needs. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms clean. There are llamas in the backyard which are friendly. They are right next to the Saint Lawrence and a city park/trail that you can wander along. It is easily accessible from the back yard.
Although French is not my first language the owners made me feel welcome. The inn is close to several good places to eat. My room was beautiful and quaint with a view of the water and the alpacas. All in all a very nice place to stay.
Amazing place to stay. The hosts are lovely. Right near the water and within walking distance to numerous restaurant. We stayed in the yellow room and it was great. The bed was very comfortable, lots of pillows and a little sitting area. The breakfast was amazing. Would go back there a thousand times.
Wonderful B and B in a house over 200 years old--a lovely room with its own balcony that was a lovely quiet spot for tea drinking early in the morning. Fantastic views over the St. Lawrence. A walk into town for a delicious meal, a perfect room and a superb breakfast: fruit, yogurt, omelette with ham and cheese wrapped in a light pancake served with homemade maple honey and corrot/fruit juice blend. Lovely place to be after a long drive from Toronto, on our way to Halifax. We were just ahead of the main season, but noticed lots of interesting artist galleries and shops. We will have to come back to see more of those!
Saint Jean Port Joli is a beautiful small town on the St Lawrence River. La Maison de l'Ermitage is a great place to stay right in town. The building itself is very well maintained as are the grounds. The rooms are large and nicely decorated and we had our own private bathroom. Several of the rooms share a bathroom. Our room overlooked the river in the back and a small balcony in the front of the room overlooked the town. The house has a wrap around porch with plenty of chairs to read or enjoy a drink. The owners are extremely nice and the breakfast was terrific. We highly recommend La Maison de l'Ermitage when in St Jean Port Joli.
Rooms are beautiful. Very peaceful comfortable and relaxing. View of the river is breathtaking. Many restaurants in town. Hosts are friendly and welcoming. Took an afternoon nap on the bed and it was extremely comfortable. Would stay here again. Came highly recommended by friends. It did not disappoint.
My stay with France and Clement is an experience that I will surely repeat. The suite was awesome, spacious and very clean with great views and comfortable beds. I would return just for the breakfast. It was that great! I regret not having had the time to visit the gift shop; all the more reason to return!
A quaint B&B located on the shore of the St Lawrence River within walking distance of the main street. The property is quite large including a barn having chickens and a family of ducks. We stayed in the Le Repere des Anges room which is located on the ground floor just inside the entrance and beside the staircase to the second floor. This was perfect as we did not have to carry our suitcases up any stairs. The room is cosy, with an en suite bathroom and a door to a balcony (table and chairs). The breakfast, prepared by the hostess, was delicious. Orange juice, coffee (or tea), crepe au jambon et fromage, etc..
