I must say that I was surprised to say the least. The Inn was quaint but the rooms were well appointed with great views of the marina. Beds were comfortable and having a balcony to look out at the water was very calming. The spa hadn't yet opened and the bistro either but all the staff we encountered were both courteous and polite and were comfortable in either English or French. I would definitely think about a stay here again with my partner! Merci beaucoup!!
We are currently staying here , april 23. Not one chair available to sit outside on the side of the river. All is still put away for the winter. They refused to find us some chairs. It’s a beautiful sunny day and we can’t enjoy it. Restaurant closes early for diner. Last sitting was at 7pm. Breakfast hours are between 8 and 9. So no sleeping in late. Breakfast was good. Room comfy.. Disappointing stay for sure.
Enjoyed our sugar shack meal, overnight stay & breakfast! We were just travelling through but will definitely revisit when we have more time and maybe in the summer! Our room overlooked the river and was very comfortable.
We were very well received. the room was clean and comfortable. the restaurant was excellent. The view on the river was pleasant. The bathroom was clean with heated floors. The restaurant staff were very accommodating considering my allergies. It had a great menu.
Only stayed one night but would have required a few nights more. Well appointed rooms with a view of the river and mountain from our balcony. Friendly service. We bought a package with dinner and breakfast. Enjoyed the quality of the cuisine. Close to many activities in a wonderful region. Not far from Montreal.
Douillet package with river view with the girls breathtaking. Massage by J-P worth every minute of it. Excellent food and service. 1 day wasn’t enough. Planning another get away. Recommend this place in a heart beat. Happy I found this gem💎
On the plus side is location. Right on the river with a view of the marina. Normally, the dining room of the main Inn should be a plus but due to Covid only the marina terrace and bar menu is available. On the not so good side: noise from the road, comfort of the bed and amenities are limited.
Very clean. Good price for the value. The dinner at their sugar shack, buffet break fast, lake view and hot tub were in their perfection. With the smaller kids during the winter, you don't have much activity though. We are planning to return back in the summer. Hope my toddler can enjoy their out door pool.
Every staff member that I had contact with was genuinely friendly and courteous and helpful. Very Familial! My room was spotless. Apparently run by the third generation, they certainly have their act together. Their predecessors should be proud!
Searching for a pleasant getaway from Montreal , Auberge Handfield was selected after perusing our reliable trip advisor . Well it surpassed alllllll our expectations - Our old Quebec charmIng and very spacious bedroom with vaulted ceilings ,twin queen beds and seating area - was immaculate . Supper was delectable and served in a beautiful decor that brought us back in time . The crackling of the wood fireplace ,the artisan carvings the tasteful Christmas decorations already set the tone of the evening . The staff was so gracious and uber professional . Valerie made great suggestions and clearly loves her work because it shines through her excellent service . Hurricane Grandma looooooved her Grilled and baked bass and grilled vegetables - followed by hot apple tart with vanilla ice cream - oh yes the pea soup - homemade and soooo good. Registering at the inn was equally pleasant with Julie ,Marie and Juliette so helpful and welcoming . The maintenance staff Valerie and Gilles checked in with us in the morning to make sure everything was up to par and asked if we needed anything, Breakfast was buffet style in the morning - Hurricane Grandma overdid it - but who could resist from homemade jams ,gluten and fat free sausages , Fresh croissants , baked beans ,fresh fruit , eggs, fab breads and very hot coffee etc. taken care of so graciously by Simon , Our one complaint to the gracious dining manager - we are eating toooo much - what’s even more irresistible - they have a spring sugar shack dining room and in the fall a mechoui party to celebrate the end of summer . Hurricane Grandma can’t wait to join in these gastronomical celebrations of fresh and delicious local products !…
