We stayed here as part of a 60 day RV tour of Alaska and Canada. The park is gravel with 30A electric and water. The owner prepared a great meal for our group. We had Angus brisket with baked potato salad which was very good.

This is an overnight RV park with limited amenities but what can you say when it's the only one? The wind is non-stop. I stayed twice while on an RV caravan driving up and coming back on the AlCan which is the only drivable (that's giving it extra credit) road, apparently constantly under construction. The mountains and lake are gorgeous. The host is the RV park owner, cook, bartender, and entertainer. The locals gather on his porch. I think there were a few motel rooms, but I'm not sure.

This is not a resort. It is an unattended gravel lot with 30 amp power, no water, no sewage, and garbage piled up around the trash cans. The café is closed. There are no facilities of any kind. Obviously, who ever owns this has long since stopped caring about it, or is physically unable to maintain it. It's a shame too, because the location is great...across the street from Lake Kluane, and mountains for a backdrop. Could be a lovely stopover on the Alaska Highway, but now I would never stay there again unless it was absolutely necessary.

Destruction Bay RV has fallen on hard times. The sites in the gravel field are still here, and electric is still available at most sites, but no water, no bathrooms. It was a convenient stop on our way from Skagway, but if you need bathrooms or even the slightest luxury this isn’t your stop. We wish the owner well and hope that things will get back on their feet.

I tried to give this place a "1" rating, which would be Poor, NOT excellent. But Trip Advisor has already decided on "5." The campground is a parking lot and caters primarily to Caravans. We got the "last sight," as we were not with a Caravan. By morning the owner had managed to squeeze four more rigs onto the last sight with us. The facilities are filthy. Period. We left a day earlier than anticipated, even though we had paid. That says it all, really.

I emailed the owner Loren only 1 night before. The next morning I received a very nice email (not the standard hasty written one you normally get), confirming my reservation.

The owner is extremely friendly, with excellent Customer Service skills, and is a one of a kind guy. He went above and beyond to please us and helped us with more than we could ask for.

The Destruction Bay Lodge has the best WiFi on the Alaskan Highway, through the whole park (and it is FREE!), and extremely clean washrooms and showers. There is also a laundry room, with 2 washers and 2 dryers for guests.

This is a Good Sam's RV Park.
Camping spots are levelled, the biggest rigs will fit here, on gravel and all sites have 30amp and water. There are also some 15amp spots on request. Everything for very competitive pricing, and you cant beat the gorgeous view.

We will be back in August! Thanks again for everything you did for us Loren.
