Great location, wonderful hosts, fantastic room. What more could you ask for. The back yard was great for exercising my dog, and at night setting and looking at the stars. I didn't want to leave. Just stay there!

Lovely little B&B. Thomas is full of stories and great local information. Our room was very comfortable and spotless. We enjoyed spending time on the upstairs outside area. Gorgeous sunsets can be viewed from there. The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented. Great place to stay and explore either direction the road takes you.

As you can see from the reviews, Casa Luz is a charming B and B just a few minutes drive from the heart of Ajijic. You can also walk to town through the beautiful tree-lined Floresta neighborhood. Hosts Luz and Tomas offer more than comfortable rooms, lovely view and delicious breakfast. Tomas is a terrific artist and Spanish teacher. I've...

We stayed 5 nights here upon our arrival to the Lake Chapala area. Thomas and Luz run the B&B. Both are incredible artists. Thomas was so helpful and was a wealth of information. I would recommend this to anyone coming to the area.

We spent a week at this delightful bed and breakfast in early March and were sad to leave. Thomas and Luz were fabulous hosts. Thomas went to the trouble of putting an extra bed in our room for our 14 year old son. The room was very spacious and we still had plenty of room even with the additional bed....

Thomas and Luz run a wonderful B & B in San Antonio, one of the towns along Lake Chapala. We think it is a great area, because it is quieter and more relaxing than Ajijic. Casa Luz is very special to us after only a 10-day stay. Thomas is incredibly talented – speaks fluent English, Spanish, German & French; teaches...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the quaint village of San Antonio, Tlayacapan, Casa Luz is the cozy home of local painter Luz Preciado. She and her partner Thomas Mutschlechner, a former teacher, cruise and hotel manager, created a hideaway in the picturesque surroundings of Lake Chapala. Just 5 minutes from the famous Ajijic and half an hours drive from the international airport of Guadalajara, the region is known for having one of the world’s best climates. The inviting rooms of Casa Luz were designed by the owners in a modern, yet charmingly rustic style. All decoration and paintings are works of Luz herself, giving each room a personal touch and individual flavor. The B&B offers its guests a tranquil setting, whether it be relaxing in the beautiful garden or taking in one of Lake Chapala’s famous sunsets from the terrace. If you are looking for a place to relax, paint, write, or simply leave your worries behind, Casa Luz is the place for you. ... more   less
