Spent four nights at this lovely, low key smaller hotel right on Akumal Bay. Had patio room on ground level which touched the sand and was a throw away from the water. Swaying palms, beautiful sun rises and sun sets, gorgeous view right from your small patio. Beautiful fresh water pool. Excellent beach bar with really good food and drinks... More

Lots of see life just a short distance from the hotel. My wife saw turtles, fish and a large barracuda while snorkeling. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food at the nearby restaurant, Lo Ha?,was very good.

We stayed in the small duplex casitas behind the Lo Ha restaurant and Akumal Dive Center. They also have a large multi story hotel complex just to the south if thats what you prefer. The casitas are one level, two queen beds, bathroom/shower and mini fridge. The room come with parking and beach chairs and towels, also access to the... More

Room was clean, comfortable, and functional, no elevator, no tub, but refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. Included breakfast was wonderful. Location perfect, walkout snorkeling, saw turtles, stingrays, starfish. Nice beach, can wade right out front. Hotel supplied towels and lounge chairs. Only "problem" lounge chairs can only be used behind hotel's rope fence which kind of obscures view of water.... More

A basic room which was more than adequate and a reasonable size. The breakfast was perfect and cooked to order. The beach was clean and quiet. The pool was close to our room. The noise travels from the room next door so try to get a room with out neighbours. The Internet worked well.

How can you go wrong? You spend all of your waking moments on the beach, the bar or visiting attractions. When you do return, there is a small kitchen in your room if you are too tired to go out. Take advantage of the pool and dice center right out your door.

This hotel is right on the beach. The rooms are large with a fridge and microwave and water filter. They are very clean and the towels were beautifully arranged. We were on the third floor and there was no lift but it wasnt a problem. From our balcony we overlooked the pool and beach not that we spent much time... More

Lovely hotel with gorgeous location on the beach and the coral reef is coming back slowly. I snorkeled for hours every day with turtles, beautiful fish, rays, lobster, etc. Delicious breakfast, helpful staff, good restaurants within walking distance, good bus connections. We were given a hotel room for some of our stay and recommend those over the bungalows because we... More

This was our first hotel that WASN"T an all-inclusive. We will never go all-inclusive again. The Hotel was great! The staff was SUPER nice! Positives: food at nearby (1 minute walk on beach) was SO much better than any all-inclusive I've ever been to.-I recommend the meal plan they offer. Literally steps to the beach, food, dive shop (for snorkeling)... More

I have not stayed at Hotel Akumal Caribe but I have walked the grounds when we had a day trip to Akumal in July 2015. It is a quaint, beautiful setting in a PRIME location. LEON, with reservations is off the charts amazing. I have never worked with anyone more polite, positive, and patient than this man. He truly LISTENS... More
