Las Villas Akumal is south of Akumal town, on its own little access road that it shares with a few beachfront homes (all empty while we were there). The reefs are close to shore at Akumal, and the beach at Las Villas is too rocky to enter the sea for swimming. You can either buy beach shoes or walk ten...

This is a hard review to write. On one hand, it was a tremendous value, but we were placed in one of the basement rooms with no chance to upgrade as it was sold out. Had we been in an ocean front room, I am sure we would have experienced a much better stay. Also, as a couple, it doesn't...

Stayed here with a friend in March 2011. Hotel was beautiful but not near much. The hotel restaurant closes early and the only few dinner options are down the beach in town which is about a 20 min walk. The cab drivers in town, which is tiny, tried to charge us $10 to go 5 minutes down the road. I'm...

These villas are tranquil and have direct access to the beach. The waters in front of the villas are a little dangerous with some sharp underwater rocks and subject to strong tides. This is beneficial however, because it keeps the tourists from other resorts away, making the place peaceful. Still, if you want the traditional beach, a 10 minute walk...

My husband and I spend much of our time in The Yucatan. We chose this fabulous find of a hotel to spend the final days of a family vacation. We rented two junior suites for three generations ranging in age from 1 - 65+. The accommodations were pristinely kept, the staff incredibly helpful, the little pool was perfect for toddlers....

My husband and I enjoyed four nights at Las Villas Akumal and loved our experience! The 1 bedroom villa had a spacious bedroom, bathroom, living area and kitchen. We found the kitchen to be well equipped and well designed. The king size bed was really comfortable! However, we spent very little time in our villa. We enjoyed the continental breakfasts...

We spent 5 days in Akumal in the hotel Las Villas. The accomodation is very nice, very comfortable, all the rooms have a small kitchen. Continental breakfast is good with fresh fruits and fresh bread. The swimming pool is perfect for the kids. Staff is really friendly and helpfull and dedicated to answer all your questions and solve any problem....

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night and thought it was going to be a super average experience. We were surprised at how spacious and clean our room was with fridge, water dispenser, mini kitchenette and dining area. While our major gripe was with the people staying next door who had the TV blaring and children running amok...

I dont want this to seem like one of those all perfect scores that dont really matter, but honestly, this was the very first time where everything was the exact same way it was on the site. We saw the milky way, mars, several constellations, and 2 green turtles giving birth the first night we arrived. It was almost too...

Stayed at Las Villas in a 2 bedroom unit #205. I’m already planning my next trip back it was so fabulous. Recommendation #1 is pay extra for an ocean view unit with the top floor being the best view. The patios were huge with 2 hanging chairs and a patio table set. Plenty of room to spread out. Unfortunately the...
